I recognise this straight away driving into Datchet from Langley its amazing to see how little has changed after all these years! thank you for up loading this!! I came across a video titled Lord mayor of Maidenhead 1960! its on you tube and it does show just how much the centre of Maidenhead has changed even now I don't recognise it as I grew up in the town many years ago and now I live in Cape town S.Z.
This is Datchet : car is seen driving on B470 Southbound along London Road into High Street, central Datchet, then left onto B3021 eastbound along Windsor Road (towards Windsor) . Just one other observation, this is nearer 1968 - 1971 !
Windsor has though & not for the better. I worked in Eton & Windsor through the late 70s/80s & went back couple of years ago. Shocked by Peascod street..a dump now..& anti terror barricades all over the place.
It’s Datchet from the Baptist church, past Majors Farm road, past the cricket club down to the village centre. From there past the church and the Stag Inn and left towards the Manor Hotel and then the station crossing towards the river, right past the river front and then towards Windsor.
Amazing just like using a time-machine and being back there. For someone who was a toddler just west of London (where this was) as I was in the late 1960s this is a surreal but wonderful experience.
Through Datchet then turning right towards Windsor.wow,so familiar!

Lovely Village !!!!!😁
Did this route daily for years. Surprisingly, it's changed very little.

Wonder when the yellow house (between the railway line and the footbridge steps) was torn down?
Wasn't there by 1980 when we move here.
Nice open streets, no concrete traffic islands, bollards, cycle lanes, road markings etc.
Datchet near Slough. If film hadn't stopped where it did we would have seen Home Park on the left & Windsor Castle on the right.
UK was grey-er back then, how immensely exciting.
Quiet roads. Parking where you want.
In those days they'd have had a decent bus service, that helped.
shame the chip shop went
DATCHET 100%
