  • Maguindanaon IPAT, Kadsakay (4-day highlights) a healing ritual through Sagayan dance and its evolution from traditional to contemporary as practiced today by the community. It also showcases the result of the partnership between Parangal artists and culture bearers, spanning 5 to 17 years, in showcasing and keeping part of the traditions alive in diaspora. The world premiere of work in progress dance production, Sambuyoga Malna, inspired from ipat through the 18th Annual San Francisco Trolley Dances will be included to showcase work from research to stage.

    The archiving showcased in this video is a documentary project through the Living Traditions of Alliance for California Traditional Arts 2021-2022. It is a four-part film with the aim to preserve the legacy and work of various culture bearers and masters in Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines for many generations to come both Maguindanaon and artists, increase access to Sagayan - a living tradition, and for the world to know about the Maguindanaon people, culture, and their olden tradition.
