Just a reminder that often these 'weird' machines and gadgets are originally designed or are very useful for people with certain disabilities (like certain motor skills or limb differences) and then they're sold as gimmicks to the rest of the population to make it profitable.
This has nothing to do with the livestream itself but I just really appreciate how you guys communicate. Safiya started to micromanage, she recognized her small issue and apologized, and then Tyler reassured her and validated her feelings. Y’all are literally perfect for each other.
well, it has something to do with the livestream: It's just part smelly candles or unnecessary violence peeling veggies, and part Saf & Ty just working off the cuff, playing by ear. They are the show. And what a show.

I'd like to think these videos are much more low stress for Safiya and Tyler since they don't require much editing, etc and I am SO here for them I really love the unfiltered goofiness.
It's not stress really but time consuming. I'd say being live adds a lot more stress because you can't edit out things. You can't make that dumb mistake and just cut it like it never happened. Not to mention that during live streams you're judged live by people about everything you do.

Please don't, I was freaking out about how I was almost 20 last year. I don't need to start freaking out about almost being 30 yet, I've still got 10 years before I should start doing that. But I once saw a draining board that goes over the sink so any water from the dishes goes straight in and I got so excited and still really want one.
2 things I've learned from watching Safiya & Tyler: 1. Safiya is a professional in front of a camera. She knows how to play to a camera, where her marks are. She seems so comfortable and natural. 2. Tyler is well and truly in love with Safiya. The way he looks at her when she talks. The way he engages with her. And it's beautiful.
She also knows how to talk and enunciate and pronounce which I feel like is something that people usually don’t pay attention to but it’s really telling of a person.
I imagine high school Tyler making obscure references and none of his friends get them and he always said his dream girl would get his obscure references. Then he met Safiya and she doesn't get his references, but she lets him explain it to her and he found he actually liked that more 😂 they're just a really cute couple.
This show reminds me of those old school product review channels on cable that would only be on at 3 in the morning when you woke up with the TV still on
I feel like I’m watching the start of something big. I really think these two are going to go far. I appreciate they posted the entire video (minus buzzes). The new TH-cam needs to be more unapologetic and I’m glad there are more livestreams and less heavily edited videos. I appreciate these two left everything in, even stuff they probably would “edit” out like the awkwardness, the pauses, the technical difficulties, all of it. This makes the video experience more relatable, more raw, more interesting and deep down more human. I know I’m rambling but like these two could become the next Jenna and Julian. Keep on keeping on!
Suggestion for Carly (sp?)/chat work: I assume Carly had access to the chat via a computer. If you connect another monitor to it, facing you guys, that is enlarged, Carly could share funny/topical comments as they happen to that screen and you could see them. The you could react to them or refer to them when you want. This could be done several ways, just an idea that occurred to me at the end :)

I can't decide what is more disturbing, the fact that saf eats only the peel of the oranges or the fact that Tyler just bit into an orange like an apple. You two are def on the FBI watch list.
The fire station reference is to the fact that it's quite common for fireighters to cook lots of comfort food for the shift that's easy to grab and eat fast and can stay on the slow cooker for a while, ie, recipes that use a lot of diced veg. Fast to prep, fast to eat. You guys basically nailed it.
They often have kitchens at a fire house because the firefighters can be working all day sometimes. Firehouse food is a thing, they often enjoy cooking nice, fresh, hearty meals instead of take out. There's usually also a sleeping area and showers.
These live stream recordings are a blessing on this youtube platform. The fact that i get an hour + of content from the great saf and tyler. This is like Christmas every week
I mean this as a compliment. These videos at just the right level of importance/not importance that I am studying for a test with this in the background for comic relief so I can make it through my college finals 🤯😇
Our local rotary club makes “rotaters” with a mechanism almost like this with a peeler and powered with a power drill. They do thin strips and then fry them and then sell them at our local festival. People travel to our town just for it!
@@KaylaKasel So far so good! They have been growing FAST. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect(my gardening style tends to be "throw stuff in pot, water it, and if survives then yay!") They are currently in a smaller pot(~8" I think?) and I will probably have to move them into a bigger pot soon since I already have 10+ 2-4in sprouts in that tiny pot.

I'm uncomfortable chopping when people are watching me, even if it's my boyfriend whom I live with. Lol I would be so much more uncomfortable doing it in front of a camera. My boyfriend chops and slices vegetables much faster than I do, but I've been getting better as I've been cooking more, so how to cut them faster and easier is starting to become more intuitive.

You know that the "appendage" is called "zucchini weenie" amongst vegans that use spiralizers for zoodles a lot? At fire stations they cook a lot by themselves and eat together, and it's always a lot of hungry, physically working people. Mostly hungry guys. You need to chop a lot of veggies.

Yeah and it would be hard to clean as well. Plus, if it’s supposed to make things easier but actually requires a lot of force? Then it’s not actually helpful. Especially since a lot of these products are intended to help ppl w disabilities. If it’s not helpful, easier to use and maintain, then it’s literally just a gimmick and pointless.
these livestreams just show how dorky and punny they are with each other unedited, and everytime I catch Tyler touch Safiya in those endearing ways, I love the love, you can tell how much he cares for her, cuteness!
I would say a number of these kinds of seemingly "unnecessary" kitchen things (like the peeler) are specifically made for elderly and disabled people with issues like arthritis. I know with fibro I have a bit of trouble peeling things!
i like that you guys are briniging awareness to assistive kitchen technology i would love more commentary on how these are made to disabled people who cannot cut and peel foods rather than for 'lazy people' there is nothing shameful about buying and using these things even if you are not disabled, the more these are normalised and purchased by a broader market, the more their price will become accessible for disabled people (who are often in poverty) i know this is a silly and fun video, but this is how i feel about it as a disabled person that your influence could benefit disabled people :)

@@KaylaKasel So far so good! They have been growing FAST. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect(my gardening style tends to be "throw stuff in pot, water it, and if survives then yay!") They are currently in a smaller pot(~8" I think?) and I will probably have to move them into a bigger pot soon since I already have 10+ 2-4in sprouts in that tiny pot.
I feel you! Zucchini is always my go-to vegetable and I make sure I have some at home.

I grew up doing the same. Peeling the orange, eating it, and then snacking on the peel. :) My mom always said there were so many more nutrients in the peel. Don't know if she was correct.
Yeah, the spikey handle is for when the veggie end you're holding on to is getting close to the blades, so you don't cut your fingers.

i cook and i'm equally uncomfortable around knives and sharp objects in general. i don't wanna cut myself and have to go to the hospital to get stiches

I'm uncomfortable chopping when people are watching me, even if it's my boyfriend whom I live with. Lol I would be so much more uncomfortable doing it in front of a camera.
My boyfriend chops and slices vegetables much faster than I do, but I've been getting better as I've been cooking more, so how to cut them faster and easier is starting to become more intuitive.

At fire stations they cook a lot by themselves and eat together, and it's always a lot of hungry, physically working people. Mostly hungry guys. You need to chop a lot of veggies.

Zucchini are my all time favorite vegetable and have been for years. I can easily munch through 6 Zucchini in a week.

The problem with products like these are when blades get dull. There is no easy method to sharpen those like you can sharpen a knife
Yeah and it would be hard to clean as well. Plus, if it’s supposed to make things easier but actually requires a lot of force? Then it’s not actually helpful. Especially since a lot of these products are intended to help ppl w disabilities. If it’s not helpful, easier to use and maintain, then it’s literally just a gimmick and pointless.

I love how silly yet adult this is because it's vegetable slicers.
I would say a number of these kinds of seemingly "unnecessary" kitchen things (like the peeler) are specifically made for elderly and disabled people with issues like arthritis. I know with fibro I have a bit of trouble peeling things!
i like that you guys are briniging awareness to assistive kitchen technology i would love more commentary on how these are made to disabled people who cannot cut and peel foods rather than for 'lazy people' there is nothing shameful about buying and using these things even if you are not disabled, the more these are normalised and purchased by a broader market, the more their price will become accessible for disabled people (who are often in poverty) i know this is a silly and fun video, but this is how i feel about it as a disabled person that your influence could benefit disabled people :)
