This was incredible! I was there and I fully agree that despite such an incredible range of greats, Nitzer Ebb were hands down the best of all of them. I was there in the thick of the crowd when at 4:06 that recognizable rhythm pattern began and the crowd went wild! I literally almost passed out from the adrenaline (didn’t drink BTW) of that song and the crazy crowd! This video doesn’t come close to capturing the actual energy the crowd had when “Getting Closer” began. I was literally in the thick of it all and I fully agree with Charlie that despite Front 242 being the final act, Nitzer Ebb simply put outshined everyone else that night! This was such a fun concert and thank you so much for sharing this. “Getting Closer” was a childhood adolescent favorite for me and now at 40, it’s now a landmark anthem for me!
I miss those early 90s concerts with Nitzer Ebb, the energy those days is unbeatable.
I hate to say it as a loyal 242 fan- Nitzer Ebb was the highlight of the night. The energy was incredible.
