Best review on TH-cam for this hat! I have ordered this hat in Heritage Fawn from a retailer here in the States. Playing the waiting game now. I wish there were more in-depth reviews of more Akubras by actual customers than than the little 90 second clips put out by HB100 and EA. Great video, thumbs up!
I have a hat pretty much just like yours, only mine doesn't have the fancy lining. I have the Khaki canvas safari sun hat by Panama Jack. That may not compare to yours in the way it's made, but by all means, my hat was not a cheap hat. ($49 US).
Hey COT, hope you are having a great day! I am split apart trying to pick my first Akubra, between this Banjo and the Federation IV both in heritage fawn. I want something versatile that goes well with a pair of jeans/chinos and a shirt, and also sturdy enough to tag along on hikes and excursions over the weekends to keep me cool and keep the sun off. I know FedIV is more of a fedora and the Banjo is more of a bush hat, but I think the latter looks sleek enough to be worn around town? I do have a bit of a slimmer face, and wider brims do tend to make my face seem smaller, so I tend to go for the dimensional, narrower on the side, brimmed hats. Would appreciate any info or comment you might have on this. Thank you, and appreciate your videos.
Hi! Both hats are great! I would suggest that if you’re looking for a versatile hat, my choice would be the Banjo. If you’re after the heritage fawn you would very easily wear that on all occasions! The size is certainly not offensive on the banjo either. It’s a great all rounder. Either are great, personal choice, mine just happens to be the BP! 😊
@@liolp808 All good mate! That’s a tough question. I think that both colours are equally well thought out by Akubra. For me I have worn the Graphite Grey quite a lot more. I would say that’s because I shaped it the way I wanted and found the graphite to suit my casual wear and my complexion a little better. If you were originally considering the fed iv, I would lean toward the heritage fawn, it’s a classic and can easily be worn for casual and more formal, it goes under the radar a little more (in my opinion). Either way they are both belters! Hope that’s helped… 😊
@@collectedovertime3291 as always, your answers are a delight to read. Being in my late 20s, I feel like I need a couple more decades before I can pull off tan colours. But that’s just me associating those colours with another demographic. My concern with the darker one is that it might turn into a sweat box under the sun on warmer days. I have given up on the Fed because it’s a little too loud for my liking. Like you said, my preference is with subtle under the radar pieces. It really is unfortunate that we don’t have shops carrying Akubras up here in west Canada, would have made things much simpler. Again, thank you so much for hearing me ramble!
Thanks for watching! They may be very similar in size, however the Banjo Paterson is from the Heritage collection. The felt is in my opinion softer and ever so slightly a better made hat than the leisure time, purely from a material point of view. The leisure time is a great hat. My son has a leisure time that he has worn, thrown, stood on and now passed on to my daughter! Any choice is a good one. As for me showing my mug on TH-cam…. Hats by the 100 do a great lot of videos and demonstrations. 👍🏻

Awesome! You’ll love it! Thanks for your feedback, I’ll see if I can get a few more up soon! 😊
I like the grey one better as it has been worn and got character.
I have a Drover Featherweight which is now all but worn out. I plan on ordering a Banjo Paterson which will most likely out last me.

@@collectedovertime3291 Thank you so much! I am leaning to the BP as well. Will give it a couple of days, and will order next week!
@@collectedovertime3291 Sorry to pester you again. Would it be possible to know which color do you prefer more and why? Thank you.

Good review. Just bought the heritage fawn.
Nice! You will love it, great all round quality made and finished hat! Thanks for watching Peter.
My understanding is that this is exactly the Leisure time but for the band and color. I like your reviews but would love to see the hat being worn

Took the lining out of mine. Way too hot.
Need to give us a better view of your Speedy.
DONT pinch the crown. It will destroy the hat over time.
Too many " um's "....... 😩
Um, yes I know. Have tried to improve in recent vids! Only a matter of time before someone pointed it out! 😂
