Now this is exactly what I think of when I think of Paris. Such neat architecture. Truly an inspiration for me to travel there. Unfortunately I don't speak French.
I went as a student once several years ago. Most people, especially the younger ones, speak great English! If you know a few basics (bonjour, pardonez-moi, parlez-vous anglais, etc), people will be happy to find a way to communicate!
Such a treat walking with you today, going to lesser known places (to me at least) some stunning buildings along the way and such an unhurried atmosphere, and I see you have an eye for random street art, some of them were quality! :) thanks for a great walk WW ...
I love the narrow streets with lots of cafes and restaurants - reminds me of the ones found in many Spanish cities too. And yes, I like quality street art, particularly the understated pixel art.
If I were to move back to Paris, it would have to be on the Left Bank, this is where you still feel all the good aspects of living in Paris. Amazingly enough it wasn't that expensive 30+ years ago.

Les charcutiers, les poissonniers, ont disparus, les marchandes de 4 saisons aussi. D'autres étaient déjà là... Rue St Jacques, la boulangerie, la pharmacie, le crémier/fromager n'ont pas changé d'emplacement, je me rappelle qu'à l'époque on nous servait la crème fraîche à la louche ! Et rue des Fossés st Jacques la papeterie où on faisait la queue les jours de rentrée scolaire, disparue aussi.. Ainsi va la vie !

Some parts of the Latin Quarter are ultra touristy unfortunately, not the real city at all.
It's called Latin because of the Sorbonne University, this quarter in medieval times was full of students from all Europe who spoke latin.
