I've been regularly keeping up with the progress of the redevelopment project in the Invercargill CBD, since the day demolition started. I watched a lot of the demolition work. Quite a major project to be honest, does hurt the city's heritage just a wee bit, but I think this project will do very good for our CBD. Before this project, the CBD was getting really really tired, no projects were done, our building stock had been left to rot, We still have some empty heritage buildings that will now cost so much to fix, and some buildings we have aren't suitable for how we do business these days. So basically now, while we've been saving some buildings, it's time for new suitable modern buildings to come in.
Nice place.
