Russell Loyd Had a Mark VII and it was a bitch to jack up with those bags. A couple of my friends had the VIII's and they always bought them with blown bags then did the coil swap and exhaust. Awesome cheap sleds that would put a smile on your face. I just remembered the old commercial, never got into full love with them even though I love seeing them around. Wish I had the money to E303 mine (it was mint with low miles and perfect black paint) with some 40 series'. I got broke, car got sold. Didn't know they lowered @ 55, so thanks.

Seriously, this is like the 5th video in a row where you ask the owner "have you dynoed it?" and they say no. How the hell do these people tune these cars then? Magic?
A lot of tuning is based off data logging during driving, either at the track or strip.
Dynos are for people who want to stick their chest out and thump it like Donkey Kong. A good tuner can just drive around town and data log to get the optimum performance
Arolbreaker Bobby, the owner in this video tuned my supercharged 5.0...he street tunes and does not use a dyno
Do you know when someone lies to your face? Of course, all that power MUST dyno'ed. Impossible to jet and time the spark just by guessing.
The owner just won't disclose figures with chickens that race by numbers.
@@AlejandroBelloRDThere are a plethora of very competitive high power cars that have never seen a chassis Dyno. Most of these combos aren't together longer than a season and it's quite common for street tuning to be done even after full Dyno sessions as the load on the street is never the same as on a Dyno. Data logging is available with almost any available tuning software so track and street tuning is a breeze. I'd trust track times for power over any Dyno.
The greatest thing about this, it isn't the same old cars that everybody else runs
Back in the day, a shop I worked for built a Procharged MK VII. Total sleeper, it was the quietest 11 second car I'd ever driven.
It's kind of tempting to build one of these as they're dirt cheap these days.

honestly this is the most impressive car i've seen on here in awhile everything else is getting old you see corvettes, cadillacs you name it all the time i want to see this the guy that's got a grandpa car that run low nines high eights that's impressive
I have always wanted to build one of these except I would have kept the original Intech V8 and boosted it with forged internals. I'm all about speed and reliability that the LS brings with it, but I'm not a big fan of the inbreeding with the Chevy engine in the Lincoln and the reason for that isn't because I dislike Chevy or Ford, it's because I've always loved the Mark VIII and I've just always wanted to see a built and boosted 4.6.

that is one consistent car. Great video 1320. My mother had a 97 mark8 and it was a very quick car even stock. They came with 285hp/285tq 4.6L 32v DOHC V8's.
It's always nice to see something different too and yeah coyote motors are strong I'd honestly love to see someone bring a ford explorer 5.0 to these events it's such a unique SUV just because of the powerplant and the right exhaust can make it sound like an early foxbody

fightfanian yeah they were but they never made THAT much power but it is a cool ass SUV I'd beg to differ at their price tags when they were new though.. either way your getting a 5.0L V8 in an SUV I wouldn't complain

fightfanian haha same here I care more about character in certain cars and a good exhaust then power, You can turbo charge it or procharge it but it would take away the character and make it sound like a vacuum cleaner NA all day ! just like the GT350 with that flatplane V8.
I'm going to have to drive an explorer 5.0 as my first car anyway and the muffler is broken and my god does that 5.0L sound good...it drones a little but when you get on it it sounds just like a foxbody

how could you not ask about the suspension on a mark 8? would have really liked to have known what the suspension set up was. the mark 8 has such a weird uncommon set up to begin with.

i remember not too long ago, muscle car guys laughed at turbos, they would say "aint no replacement for displacement", and using turbo was like an abomination, now majority of muscle car guys use turbos

I sold my grandfather a 93 Lincoln Mark VIII with 63,000 miles.
He loves that thing. I'm really glad I thought of him when it got onto my dealership's lot, but even more glad the guy decided to trade it in so I could sell it to my grandfather.
