that was probably german tanks being transported I notice they have NATO camouflage the us still had dark green with the white stars and vietnam colors we didn,t start painting NATO color,still april of 76 ,I was station at the ROCK,AYERS HHC 1 bde 3 ad motor pool 76 to 78
In the video I'm sure I was driving c/s 21 which is the first tank being driven on and loaded. WO Bob Jackson is the CC and is seen in the video jumping down from the tank before we loaded. They are American tanks you see behind not German ones. The Germans had Leopard 1's at the time which to us Canadians still in Centurions was on the top of our wish list.
@@davegilson5796 They are war reserve Centurions. Note the three pad "hush puppy" tracks which is unusual. If this is 1971, Chieftain had been in service for five years but was still criminally unreliable and relatively low in number.

It's an American M113 APC. What you saw was probably the FV432, a British design which looked similar but was a different vehicle.

not sure if the German army ever had centurion tanks and we used this colour scheme in Germany before 1970
Those are by no means German tanks. We had M48 and Leopard 1 MBT at that time.
