    thanks for making this video!
    hearing people talk negatively about antidepressants is very distressing for me, esp coming from family members and and friends. I appreciate your efforts to alleviate some of the stigma! I'll definitely share this video with some people.

    This stigma let me suffer so much because I waited far to long until I finally got medication. Another thing that is good to know: They only knew this in the clinic specialized on people like me, but autistic people actually react differently to antidepressants and other psychotropic drugs than neurotypical people. I am not a doctor so talk to your psychiatrist about this instead of thinking this is the whole answer, but from what they told my, Seretonin-reuptake-inhibitors don't work on most autistic people but antidepressants that inhibit the reuptake of both Noradrenalin and Seretonin do. And generally we much more often have weird side effects, effects that don't appear often and stuff like that. I wish my first psychiatrist would have known that, I was on so many different medications and suffered so long until they finally found something that worked.

    I really needed this to get me to start taking my meds again, because I haven’t for several days and I find it hard to start taking them again after I forget for a few days. I take it for ptsd, derma, anxiety, OCD and depression, and overall I’ve found it very helpful for everything except ptsd, but as I’m still working through trauma I wasn’t expecting it to work any miracles. Generally the reason why people become suicidal from antidepressants is because it can increase your energy and emotions, and therefore for some people it can make things worse. Most people, however benefit greatly from them and I myself am one of those people

    Thank you for this video! My therapist wants me to go to a physiatrist for depression and possible medication. This helps a lot, as I’m terrified of taking medicine.

    I'm not on antidepressants but I am on antipsychotics and a mood stabiliser for my schizoaffective disorder. I take aripiprazole, risperidone, lithium and diazepam to calm me down when I am manic.

    I used to be on antidepressants but I’m not anymore. For me I really couldn’t tell the difference of how I felt on and off them and the difference between all the different ones that I took. The problem was that at that time and still now my memory was very nonexistent at least when it came to my mood. So for me I couldn’t really tell if they were helping or just making things worse.

    thANK you so much for talking about this. My therapist told me to pay attention to when I get so sad because mAybe I could use some medication, and I ended terrified af. Fuckin stigma it's really gotten into my brain. Anyways, watching this really calmed me down and made me feel so less alone. I can't thank you enough🖤

    I've taken antidepressants for both migraines and insomnia, it stopped working for me after a while just because my body just got so used to it. I take a what the doctors called a "cousin" to it now, just for my insomnia and it works pretty well if I take it on time.

    Sorry this is off topic to the video . But how long should you roughly wait for coming out of the closet as ftm. I know it depends on the idividuals feelings and that and its properly sounds stupid but how can you be really positive that your trans . I don't want to come out and then in a year regret it and everyone one think I did it for attention :/ any help?
    Also do people normally get therapy for social anxiety? Sorry if you've mentioned this in the video im watching it now and so far you haven't ❤

    • @tyfickle1960
      @tyfickle1960 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Eyebrow Animations I can't really help you much with the coming out thing as you said it depends on how you feel and how you feel others will react I've only been identifying as trans masc for a year but for a good 6months I thought I was gender fluid. However I can tell you that people to go to therapy for social anxiety I know I do, because of it I have a hard time really talking but It is something that others do

      maybe you could also try talking about you gender with a therapist too if you are not so sure about it. I'm doing it and at least it gives me a space to get it off my chest. or perhaps talking about it with anybody you trust. You don't need to come out to these people, you can just tell them you're struggling with that and how you're feeling now. And if you are sure now and then in one year you're not, that's okay too. And don't give an absolute f about everybody's opinion about "doing it for attention". I know it's easier said than done, but I hope it helps a bit. I wish you the best🍀🍀

      Ty son thanks but the only way I can see a therapist is if I tell my parents I want to see one and I don't think they would let me

      @tyson5222 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eyebrow Animations Oh no, that's too bad :( I hope they change their minds. Meanwhile, good luck friend, I'm sure you have at least one person that supports and loves you. And of course you know you have this bunch of people here who are with you.

    I'm on an antipsychotic and I got really bad...how do you spell it.....akasthesia? Akathisia when we upped my dose so we brought it back down and now I'm on the lowest dose. I take it for anxiety and it helps with my rough moods a little but not anxiety at all? And that's concerning to me? But my psychiatrist just keeps reperscribing it to me and I don't know what to do.

    Also how do you bring it up to your therapist when you think you have a new issue/mental illness. I'm worried that 1. she'll think I want to have it or 2. that I'm self-diagnosing which I'm not, I just have a lot of the symptoms and am super worried about it and what it means for me.

    • @Hyzentley
      @Hyzentley 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It could be that its actually your psychological issues that have these effects? Sounds stupid but one of the symptoms of depression and anexiety, PTSD and probably other mental illnesses can be that they mess with ones sex drive. Its an embarrassing topic, but talk to your doctor about it, they know the best where it could come from.
