Wow, what a fab video. Presentation, pacing, explanation, enthusiasm... and cat! I've had this game for years and enjoyed it, but this video has convinced me to get it out again and have a few plays with my son this weekend. Thank you! SUBSCRIBED. : )
@@GamesMadeEasy When can you decide to leave the city? When it's one's turn or before any other's turn? For example if I'm in the city and it's your turn to roll the dice, can I leave before you roll? Can I leave between other players' turn?
Really nice video. This will be an excellent primer for my friend to watch who will be playing this for the first time with our game group in a few days time. Thanks for the video!
I came to make the same correction. This is the main change with 2nd edition. The other difference was the effect of Battery Monster(s), all other cards remained the same, but reworded. Basically the rule is, after resolving your dice, if Tokyo is empty, you enter it.
5:30 a common misconception, the game does not end 'immediately' upon scoring 20 VP, for this victory condition you have to survive your turn. If you have 1❤ left, but also a poison spit token on you, you won't survive, and thus lose.
Thank you for the clarification, you are right, I should not have said immediately. I will try to edit the video, in the meantime are you ok if I pin your comment? Thank you again, I really appreciate it.
Hi. What is the purpose of the two green dice that got set aside at 1:21? I don’t think those dice were explained, and just confused what they are for. Thank you.
@@GamesMadeEasy Heyyy :D I played a mini tournament of king of tokyo in mexico and won xD haha, thank you very much for the tutorial :D, I won a character for the game
@@KeeganMcKinneythe expansion Power Up does give you a personal deck of 8 additional cards, and depending on which rules variant you start with 1 card.
Unless the rules have changed in 2022, I can't find anywhere in the instructions that says only one monster inside Tokyo can yield after being attacked?
Hi Neil, sorry for the late reply, it's been a busy festive season! You are absolutely right, thank you so much for flagging it. I am going to try to fix the video or re upload if necessary. I really appreciate it. I have to play again ay 5-6 players now :)
Must a player attack the monster inside Tokyo if they have an attack die on their third roll? For instance, if I only have one health remaining, I may not want to take the chance the Tokyo monster yields and now I’m in Tokyo.

The monster box edition is the best version, 10 monsters plus the Halloween edition monster and the costume bonus buffs

Thank you so much. Enjoy the game; check out King of New York, it's also fun.
In the 2016 edition, you must enter Tokyo when it's vacated. You don't need to roll Claws for it anymore.
I think it's still the case. As soon as someone yields or defeats a player in Tokyo, the person attacking needs to enter Tokyo.
@@GamesMadeEasy , That's correct. But at the start of the game, no claws are needed anymore to enter Tokyo.
aah, I get it. Thanks :)

@@GamesMadeEasy thanks, no worries, many people forget that part, and the odds of this occuring is minimal in the game.
Ah... that is good too know. I shall inform my wife
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you so much, it’s very kind. Enjoy the game :) have a look at my King of New York video if you get a chance, it’s also a fun game.

Hi there! There is a card that you can purchase with energy that activates them. Enjoy King of Tokyo :)

That's so cool! Which character did you win?
Does anyone know what happens if you buy/discard all of the power cards? Does the discard pile get shuffled back or are they just done?
I don't think I've ever played a game where we used all the cards, but it would be interesting to know. I wasn't able to find it in the rules.
How does card draw work? How many cards do you start with?
You don’t start with any cards. You have to spend energy to buy them. You have to roll energy on the dice.
@@dennym34 Oh, ok, thank you. 🙂 I'm so used to playing TCGs, lol. 😂
So sorry, I missed your comment but glad someone clarified it.

Absolutely, the player has to go inside Tokyo.
