Hello. I am an American modeler. I don’t know a huge amount about British railroading, but this is a beautiful layout. It is very well done in all aspects. Watching the video was a joy. I’ve recently stumbled onto P4. It is a scale we do not have in the U.S. it looks really beautiful with all the wheels and track to-scale. Beautiful work, thank you for sharing.

A wonderful example of P4. Railway modelling at its best!

Really enjoyed this. I remember the crossing gates coming this way in the 80s, but lovely to enjoy what used to be. Thank you.

Oh dear Lord. What a perfect layout: your vision, dedication and attention to detail is humbling. Layout operators must dread seeing you at exhibitions.

Amazing and wonderful layout, really building up the true atmosphere of that area. Look forward to future views

Lovely layout. As one who models the area around Wakefield, this layout captures the atmosphere of the area between Wakefield and Bradford well and it was great to see the replication of the location done to such a high standard.

Hi Steve! I don’t know if you’ll remember me but myself and my brother, Russ, were, along with yourself, Paul Corrie, a couple of brothers that lived on Rooms Lane in Morley, and another lad, members of MLEC in the early seventies. We lived in Gildersome. I have a newspaper cutting of me, Russ, Paul, yourself and the other lad, stood by a very small N gauge layout that I think you had built, and which was all self contained. The pic was taken at an exhibition somewhere, possibly at Dewsbury town hall. Paul became a loco fitter at Holbeck and Neville Hill, I became a secondman at Holbeck, later to become a driver, then a TCS at Leeds. I’m retired now! Your layout is very good indeed! It’s a shame that you’ve not got a longer building for it! Absolutely fantastic! Now, as coincidence would have it, I have recently started as a radio presenter at HWD Hospital Radio, taking over this evening from a recording of a show that you previous commentator, below, did for the station. Peter is a master of his art whereas I, at 63, am still learning! Well I had to do something after retiring from the railway! I only live a mile down the road in Birstall so it’s all familiar to me, and I often think about how it once was and what we lost. It’s all ex dog walking territory. These days I reckon it would be a very useful and busy route.
    All the best, Steve!
