Geoff Mack made the song in 1959, and it was made famous in 1962 by Lucky Starr. Johnny Cash's version wasn't released until 1996.

everywhere", it's based on the Australian song written by Geoff Mack
(Albert Geoffrey McElhinney OAM) and first recorded in 1962 by LUCKY
STARR. The first US version, recorded by HANK SNOW in 1963 was also
written by Geoff Mack. JOHNY CASH did not record his version until
1996.
Great research Allen, I'm impressed as very few people add Hank Snow into the facts as that is where I first heard the song when I was a kid. Not too many people also know Geoff Mack wrote both the versions.
steveleeilikeguns you grew up to listening to him as a kid when I was younger I used to listen to your music and try to be like you because me and my friends love guns and we used to study them and we learned gun safety. We tried to remake I like guns but with nerf guns!

Its a tough question, probably my Winchester 30/30 but a lot of the full auto stuff i dont own is right up there as well like the M60 and the mini gun.
hell ye bought my win 30/30 for $50 would never sell it, took out my first Samba with open sights too. great gun.

Steve Lee is awesome! I love what he does. And the NRA museum is incredible to see and very cool that he included it in this video. Been to the museum a few times and it's so amazing when you study the history of the guns and gun makers. I think Steve has shot every gun! Don't stop! Ha!
