Let me know what you guys think of the results. What video should I make next?
Dyno plz
This will probably be a pain to do but try running insane mode 1/4 mile runs at 90%SOC, 70%SOC, 50%SOC, 30%SOC, and 10%. Also try taking off the efficiency tabs on the rims and see if it makes any difference. 😎
I second this, Would love to see you test how performance varies versus state of charge. According to videos, we have seen minimal impact below 50%, similar to Plaid, curious to see the curve if/when it begins to taper off.
Would love to see a drag race between a BMW M3 Competition and a AMG C63 and the Tesla Model 3 Performance 2024
Would like to see track mode with various bias toward the new rear motor.
Track mode actually cools the battery, which will hurt acceleration. Always run in Inside mode without the HVAC running. Also, pre-conditioning the battery has proven to be beneficial as well in the older M3P. So, do another run in Insane mode, no AC or Track mode running and pre-condition the battery.
My dad used to have an E36 325is that did 7 sec to 60 and around 15 to the 1/4 and I thought that was a friggin rocketship when growing up. I just can’t believe chill mode will get you that performance 😂
I have an M3LR boosted doing 60 in 3.5 with 1ft rollout and 11.6-11.8 on the 1/4 and chill mode feels like the car is broken. How stupid fast things are nowdays…
Delivering what everyone wants to see thanks
I love the fact that although you were going flat out and doing multiple launches next to residential houses, people live in that area weren't disturbed by annoyingly loud exhaust sound.
Just the fact that you can do this over and over - sets electric cars apart from traditional ice/stick cars, where you've already potentially broken your transmission clutch dumping and shifting gears by now.
Boring asf banging gear so much better

straight to the point. thank you very much.
Surprised to see track mode was pretty similar to insane mode. Thanks for doing the comparison…nice to know the differences with data!
Yeah they are very similar. I put down the fastest 1/4 mile with insane mode. Also very similar 0-60 times
It's a known thing that track mode is for adjusting performance settings ie balance between front and rear drive as well as winding up cooling more than actually changing acceleration. It's basically identical to insane. I never get why people bother going for track mode to test the 0-60 time
9.13 60-130. Man, that’s impressive.
I think Plaid does it in 3.9s
@@borinvlogsyea plaid is still king when it comes to performance evs but this thing is top tier in terms of value for money
@@borinvlogsCloser to 4.2 and the LR does it in 7.5.
Faster than some of the times I've seen from the G80 BMW M3. Didn't think it would hold the top end so well, pretty crazy.
@@chewthegumquite a bit faster than the G80. Mine is like a 9.6 60-130. But tuned. The g80 is in the mid to high 5s on e30
i was looking for the 0-60 in "normal" mode which is the mode I'll be in most. Still faster than the Long Range model. Perfect. 3.8s still plenty fast and not OH FUCK fast like insane lol. Thank you for this video!
See 2024 Highland Model 3 Performance does 10.75 @ 126+ mph 1/4 mile by LearningFast. This guy had posted a video a couple years ago on getting the best 1/4 in a 2022 M3P, which I followed and recorded a quarter in 11.38 at 118, where my prior best was 11.5 at 116. He indicates in the above cited video that Insane Mode does increase the battery temp, but it still helps to pre-heat the battery by pressing navigate to supercharger. His runs are on a prepped surface, but his 127 trap speed shows that he is getting a boat load of hp, in excess of 600. Enjoy your ride!!
Well done! All the relevant info, concisely presented, and none of the useless fluff.
Thank you!
That car is sick
Finally semi affordable 10sec car
Insane mode is a monster
His track mode was faster!
@@larryc1616both are pretty much equal but his insane mode has the fastest time
@@larryc1616I think too that track mode does a bit better with keeping the battery pack cool and operating more efficiently with extended runs vs insane mode.
47k for a 10s car = ICE is 💀
4680 Roadster = GAME OVER ⚡️ 🇺🇲
Yes but on the highway the 60 130 mph is really slow for a 10 sec car
Sub 7s 0-100mph, for reference a McLaren F1 did it in 6.3s. Wild.
That’s insanely quick man
Good to see standard mode only loses you a second. I figure most people will use this for daily driving
Insane mode all day everyday for me!
Any downside to keeping insane mode on all the time if you aren’t flooring it?
@@ceeIoc no
Chill mode is still faster than most cars out there.
Crazy....your "Standard" is going nose to nose with my CT4V Blackwing. Getting a M3P myself year end when my lease is up.
Thanks for doing this! I had been wondering how 'insane' that mode was over just standard. Thats a noticeable boost. Of course, a car that runs 12 flat in the quarter mile in 'Standard' acceleration is still pretty damn fast!
FYI that’s just about as quick as my 2023 LR with boost
@@louisolivierfortinand a Model Y performance.
Good stuff! Chill mode was a bit painful to watch, but insane is where it's at 😂
Man, you sure are lucky to have a road like this near your house
Man chill mode is REALLY chill. And it's still faster than my current car.
Chill mode is super chill and smooth
124 mph in the quarter is good.
It is for 510hp. Quite comparable to ICE engines with the same hp.
Nice after 10 runs on my Evo the stoc clutch was gone, still waiting for my M3P
If you are in SoCal, we could do a run with my MYP to see how much of a gap that is for anyone looking to compare these two
Damm I’m in NorCal
Needed this thanks
In South Korea, we only can get China made Model3 highland perf, so power is detuned so much... I envy USA version!!
Probably best to keep it in chill mode 24/7
That’s no fun lol
Based on my experience with two of the "old" M3Ps, charge your car to 100% SOC, and, as soon as your are heading to your drag road, navigate to a nearby supercharger, but just drive to your drag road. This will warm the battery to the ideal temp for maximum performance in a manner similar to "Dragstrip Mode" on the Plaids. Try to do your first run with at least 95% SOC. Don't use Track Mode, as this cools the battery and defeats the purpose of the preconditioning, as well as using more SOC. You should get your best ET in the first or second pass. Doing this in my 2023 M3P shaved 0.12 seconds off my prior best 1/4 ET.
I was reading the owners manual and this is what it says about insane mode acceleration “Insane strives to keep the Battery within an optimal temperature range. In addition to heating the Battery, these settings also cool the Battery when necessary (for example, while driving at high speeds, during rapid acceleration, driving for long periods, etc.).
@@Draghub That is interesting. When you select insane mode, does it come on instantly, or do you have to wait for it to warm up? In the S Plaid, the extra power of plaid mode is available right away, but I have had to wait half an hour for Dragstrip mode to warm up to the optimal temp on cold days.
@@mpow1404 it comes on instantly

Wow, super cool to see ❤😊
Guy at work has a built v8 that he takes to drag strip constantly breaking it that does 12.8 and I rock up to work in my family car and can do a low 12 lmao
Thanks for the video. What was the SOC at? Still curious what the acceleration is like below 50% SOC.
It was at 99% I’ll do another video testing how fast the car is below 50% SOC
@@Draghubat dragtimes, SOC above 75% Plaid does consistent 9.2-9.3's. Drops to 9.5's at 50-60% SOC and at 20% SOC Plaid does 9.9
When I get the MS LR I might do those runs but I don’t record videos so probably not. 🤣🤣
great video! i love it.
Thank you!
My track mode is still locked?? Does anyone know if you need a minimum amount of miles on the car? 2024 Model 3 Performance
No you have to put the car in park before you can put it in track mode
Hypothetically speaking, what difference would Michelin PSAS4 tires have on the 0-60?
I’m not sure to be honest
Why isnt there any video of the new 3 Performance against the old 3 performance.

Yeah you can switch between insane standard and chill while driving. You just can’t switch into track mode while driving you have to put the car in park

When is Elon giving is Model 3 performance with 610 HP ....Its already built into this vehicle.,
All Elon has to do is a software update.

Dyno on all three modes. No one on YT has done it yet
Good video. I would really like to see a race with a model S performance...just to see the gap. thks
Yeah I’ve been asking about this about the MS LR. Just speculating that the M3P will get out in front the first 1000 feet before getting reeled in and gapped by the 1/4.
