That last scene is the perfect representation of what Pin is going through - suffering in silence. She has no one to whom she can share her pain - no one. She, who lost her family would never want to be the reason for someone else to go through the same loss.
@@GemaPerisV The decision wasn't easy for her. Throughout the series, we have seen how she was always lectured to be grateful to the royals and of the class difference. The losing of title sin't just about status but being cut off from family. Pin would never allow Anil to do that, even if that means losing her herself. My heart cried for khun pin. That girl literally don't have anyone in the the world to comfort her. Atleast anil has her brother, eungfah, prik nd pia. She knows even if she step down from royal title they'll always have her back. But for khun pin, every step of her life she is reminded that she is a burden and brought shame to the family made me cried buckets. I hate how everyone can see Anil's pain but not khun pin's. And I must appreciate freen man what a actress she is, girl didn't even had a dialogue except for the first scene but she killed ut with her eyes and expressions.
I agree about pin. I don't agree about anil. If she gives up her title she actually won't have anyone after. That's the rule. Pin knows how much she loves her family and that's what she was trying to prevent from happening. If you think about it, it's a big sacrifice. Pin really does love her but in her own way
Anin also doesn't have anyone on her side. Her brother did not protect her, and he's not strong as Anin is. His loyalty still lies in royalty. What he does is a bare minimum. Her mother secretly hopes that Anin moves on and doesn't feel bad for her heartbreak. Her 2nd brother teased her. Her dad ordered her to attend the ceremony. Prik was actually beside both Anin and Pin (first half with Pin and 2nd half with Anin) but what she can do as a servant?
So actually, Thai people explained it's not "just a title". Giving up her title Anil would have to leave the palace and basically cut ties with her family. That's why her mom is so terrified of the idea and Pin doesn't want her to do it.

I’m not Thai so I’m not sure how it works exactly in Thailand but usually giving up your title means you’re no longer welcome in royal spaces mostly, even your home. It’s almost like you’re shunned and have to live separately, with you losing your family along with your title. That’s why her mom is so distraught at the thought of Anin doing that, and why Pin, an orphan with no family besides Aunt Patt (and we know how she is), so desperately doesn’t want her to do that. She knows how it feels to not have that and doesn’t want Anin to go through the same. It also makes Anin wanting to do that for Pin so much more impactful because we see how great her family is, and how she has so much to lose if she gives up her title. But again I’m not Thai, so I’m not certain about the details beyond knowing that’s how it typically goes when royals give up their title, especially in that time 😅
Even if I am Thai but I do not have detailed info about this. However, Anin's titile is "Mom Chao" which is the last rank of royal and considered a member of the royal family. Other titles after this rank will be considered as only commoners. I believe it is not very easy to do and Anin needs to give up many things in her life as well if she does that.

I think lots of non-Thai folks also picked up on it but yeah, having it be stated in the series what this could mean, would give folks that don’t completely understand it a bit more context to explain why Pin does what she does.

This episode felt incredibly relatable. I am just so thankful to the writer of the loyal pin and the whole production team for keeping it beautifully realistic unlike some shows where they make the parents/guardians stupidly and randomly homophobic and then out of nowhere make them do the "right thing" aka the redemption arc. That's simply not how it works in reality. Queer people are forced to do things against their wishes their whole lives, that's why most of us end up killing ourselves. It's been hours and i still haven't stopped crying. As a closeted lesbian trapped in a misogynistic and extremely homophobic country, i felt like i was watching my own story. I felt each sob, every teardrop in my soul. This is the reality of thousands of lesbians who are forced to marry men in conservative, patriarchal societies. When anin said "she feels inferior to every man in the world" and "she lost to kua just because he's a man" omg that broke me. I don't think I'll ever recover from this.
I agree and also appreciate the realistic portrayal than other shows where conflict is merely individual plot based and not a societal one . In real life some people are blatant bigots and they dont change over nite while some people have inherited and internalized the bigoted views and they are also difficult to deal with. Sometimes we can fully cut them off from our lives and sometimes we have no choice but to tolerate them. Sometimes they do show change and growth but its always very slow and take a lot of time and work. Rarely do they truly have a complete change of heart and mind quickly. I too am from a conservative and misogynistic country I am the most progressive minded person in my family and I still have a lot learn and improve upon. My mom and grandma have some progressive views on certain sections of women's rights but they also have heavy internalized misogyny even I am still unlearning the toxic ideals that have been thought to, experienced and witnessed by me since childhood. The loyal pin is showing the very real suffering and struggles of queer women at that time and even though it will have a happy ending we shouldn't forget the real life struggles that these women and other queer people have faced and are still facing in this world.

I'm more worried about the people who are more disenfranchised or in a worse situation than me, personally I do have my fair share of struggles that I face but not nearly as bad someone else out there. My heart really go out to those people. I just wish society would progress quickly, queer people and women shouldn't have to wait for permission or acceptance just to live their lives peacefully. i have cried so much during this ep..becky's acting was phenomanal and I too don't get how she agreed to wear anin's ring from khun kuea as it takes away the essence of the ring in my eye ooh i just noticed the double ring thank god!!
You know, this episode is brutal and left the fandom traumatized. lol I think this episode has been effective in showing how with or without support, pain is pain. Anil and Pin’s pain is equally horrible no matter what side the are. Having someone or not having anyone in your corner, doesn’t make their struggle any better for one over the other because when left alone, they are still left to feel that pain. Every character’s choices are grounded in their perspective and their background. Aunt Pad, for instance, sees marriage as the quickest solution because, for that time, at that era, it truly was. Even if that’s mean risking her relationship with her niece. Anin believes giving up her royal status could resolve things from her side, even if that’s mean cutting ties with her own family. While Khun Pin agrees to marry Kua, seeing it as the least damaging choice to preserve everyone's relationship, but her own with Anil, which that’s mean sacrifice her own future and live in regret for the rest of her life. These are all difficult decisions. They’re both on a losing end. Anin lost the woman she love the most to the guy she saw as a loser this whole time just because Kua is a man, that shattered my heart so bad. This episode shed light on a very important topic about women at the time were utterly powerless. Even Anin being the princess could do nothing just because her "competitor" is a man. She was right, what good is a title if in the end she's the same as others - forced to accept what the elders want. She, a literal princess, is not able to do anything, what more of Pin can do then? Even after seeing all that pain she cause to her niece, the aunt still says Pin brought disgrace to the royals. And later, Pin even feel grateful to her aunt when she can keep wearing the ring. That's how disgustingly Pin is treated and mentally abused. The ending scenes twisting the knife that already buried deep in our wounds, where Anin broke down, sobs wracking her body, unable to breathe while on the comfort of her cousin's arms, while Pin only can witnessed it all silently and she couldn't do anything. All she could do was bite her fist, cover her mouth to silence her own anguish, and still..for the sake of everyone but her. And finally, Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Patricia Amstrong, What a phenomenal actresses you guys have grown into. They both have put on a tremendous performance in this episode. Freen didn't have much lines at all and Becky had to spit fire. Such opposing behaviors but I could feel every single emotion from them. Every single freaking emotion was so well portrayed. FB today have reached a new peak of their acting prowess. Oh and finally, Congrats for The Loyal Pin for reaching 100 million views in 85 days. Hope its going to keep moving up 👏The best GL series i've ever watched. Its so so good on everything. And the worst news is we have 3 episodes left. I'M NOT READY!!

By far the best episode of a period drama in a long time, it was sober because it touched on realistic points, the acting level was very high even from the secondary characters and what I always highlight is how the camera and the exteriors play a very important role in ANIPIN's mood. I always recommend that TLP should be seen with the eyes of its time, not with the eyes of today, since the social contexts are not similar, although some things still need to be improved, mainly with women.
beautifully said!! The societal lens of today (though flawed) shouldn’t be applied to a period piece like this. Fact of the matter is things were different then and quite a number of things restricted women. I adore how the series reflects this - it’s such an immersive experience. Oh and did you noticed when Anil called Pin not Khun Pin anymore, but Khun Ying? Thats how badly she's feeling hurt she's cant calling Pin with her nickname anymore, but by her formal title. And later referring Pin as 'that person'. From Khun Pin to Khun Ying to that person :(
Can't praise enough about Freen and Becky.. they are just so awesome.. They exactly expressed the pain .. Pin is not expressive and mostly have been without anyone by her side who can actually understand how she felt apart from Anin, .. but now she cannot turn to her .. on the other hand Anin brave, expressive but hides everything related to her feelings towards Pin from everyone else but this time she came out in front of so many people but things did not turn out as the way she thought , she is broken into pieces as well as her strength is broken because that was always Pin.. They both are so good .. really expressed what they are in the characters The scene with Lady Uanghfah is the best.. while Pin listening to it and broke into tears.. even though Pin was busy..she came there because she was insecure that of loosing Anin completely.. I don't know if I interpreted right but that is the reason she came but hope she Heard what Anin said.. that scene was really good.. I always liked Lady Uanghfah and now she is my new Favourite ❤ she is selfless, kind and calm, even though there is a storm going on inside her, she cares even when she knows she will not get anything...she was so in love that she could read Anin from far just by looking at her... She always knew but never confronted this point ..
The most painful for me in Anil and Pin is - Pin is a person when crying but noone is near her, only Sasa, no family. - Anil is a person had to see whole engagement preparation in front of her eyes, which tortures her day by day I cried so hard in this ep, because they reminds me a lot of my own pains that i had in the past, my eyes hurt too much. Pin sacrifices herself not let Anil to lose her tittle, her family which loves her so much because of Pin, Pin knows how hurt without family and i just feel that Pin thinks Anil can find a person better than her, same rank, not like her who has nothing (Pin thinks herself like that) Anil get hurt a lot because how hard she tries to fight for her love, quit her tittle, wants to leave everything to live with Pin but Pin quit easily. Both of them ... are painful of love, the more they love each other, the more pain they got.
I want to hug both of them but want to hug Khun Pin more 😢. Anil is so broken and hurt but at least she has her brother, mother even Prik and Pia by her side while Khun Pin forced to marry someone she doesn't love, she has no one just Sasa bunny doll 🥲💔

God my heart aches for anin and pin but especially for pin. People who are judging pin's character negatively have to be really insensitive, emotionless and privileged to blame pin in this situation. Pin is THE REALITY of lgbtq+ people (especially youth) stuck in homophobic and misogynistic societies. Anin is my most fave character and i'm always on her side but I'll still say it, anin has every right to be mad and she's heartbroken but anin has a lot of shoulders to cry on, she is privileged, pin is not. "Pin gave up easily, pin didn't fight for anin", pin isn't doing this willingly, she was forced to go to that route. All pin can do is beg (and she begged with everything she had in episode 12) pin is so powerless and disgustingly and poorly treated by everyone around her, especially by aunt pad. Even after seeing her go through all that pain, aunt pad still said "pin brought disgrace to the royals". She's constantly being reminded how unimportant and unworthy she is. Anin was the only person who genuinely cared about her, she lost her too, she lost her only comfort. She sacrificed herself so anil wouldn't have to leave her family. She didn't want anil to lose her family over her. Her decision is grounded in selflessness, protection and love.
I also understand pin's point of view .I'm feeling hurt for Anin but Pin was hurted more in last few episodes.I feel so bad for Pin .Sometimes I just wanted to hug Pin and say some comfort words to her but its impossible .I literally got tears in my eyes reading ur words .and yeah Pin is suffering more . she is all alone .

Anin's words and Khun Pin's helplessness were heartbreaking. Freen literally had a handful of lines.. she only had her body language and eyes to express. She was outstanding as always.
Actually, the blessing from Anin to Pin is meaningful. It's not just 'I wish you to be happy in love,' but rather 'I hope your love will come true in the end'-like finally finding a happy ending in her love life. It's as if she's also blessing herself (both Pin and her), not just Pin alone, and definitely not Pin and Kuekiat. I'm not sure if I've explained this clearly enough, but her blessing is truly meaningful.

This Esp 13 was really intense. Anin gave ALL OF HERSELF. Pin won't let Anin lose what's important; her family. It's not the title or privileges. For Pin has no family. Auntie Patt's obligation came with a high price for Pin. Lost count of how many I watch. But I notice a few things. #1 Anin's shoes echoing on the staircase. With determination of what's to come. #2 Pin's eyes taking in all of Anin's presence, elegance, aura and the love Anin gave her. Forever engraved in her heart, soul and mind. #3 Anin's older brother sharing the color BLUE = making their bond stronger.
Becky’s acting here was exquisite! Uangfah is the mvp. I think Pin is in as much pain as Anin for she has to marry Kua. Kua needs someone to pick out his clothes for him, and never wear that pumpkin jacket and pepto bismal pink suit again! I know Aunty is totally wrong but I still love her. Who is more clueless-dad or younger brother Arnon? Don’t give up Anin! There’s dirt to be dug up on Kua. Get him!😮

I'm not sure if you noticed, but during the engagement, everyone was wearing pink except for older brother who was wearing blue. I feel like it was a representation of him being bias to Anin. But that's just me. Also, there's an interview of Charm (Aunte Patt) in English, it's very good actually. She mentioned there that the director really detail oriented and there's a lot of symbolism like the pinwheel stopped spinning and the caged bird before showing Pin. And during the scene where Anin denounced her title, Charm's initial reaction was to cry because she was sad for the 2 and want them to be together. She was a low-key shipper 😂. I'm laughing about this now but I was crying the entire episode.
I have to say I understand everyone side in this episode, when you take in consideration the time and the social background, it's hard to point fingers (except for Kuat, he's garbage). Auntie Patt was always a servant to the royal family, it's the only way she knows how to live, and she carved that into Pin's mind. They both only see things in what's proper and what's not. Anin on the other hand has always been free to do everything she wanted, everyone around her has always made sure she would get what she wanted no matter what, so in her mind if she wants something she just have to make it happen, properness doesn't factor in her mind.

I’m referring to how Anin was treated as a child and teenager, how her formative years shaped her personality, and how she views the world. The first three episodes do a great job of showing how Anin was raised; you don’t even need to read the books to see this. She was never brought up to act like a typical princess; she was never taught to be prim and proper. In fact, everyone around her always encouraged her to be herself. Her father loved her free spirit, her brother wanted her to keep challenging the world around her, and he would do anything she asked of him. Even Pin, Prik, and Auntie Patt would give in to her whims. If she didn’t want to go to England, she just had to say so (Yes, this part is only in the book, where it’s shown that she really wanted to go because she thirsted for knowledge, but the conversation she has with her brother in the series should hint that she went willingly, even though she didn’t want to leave Pin), the same way she just told her mother she would not get married and her mom said nothing. This is the first time she has encountered something she can’t have.
You are on point, they had different way of growing up and approaching things so it’s natural they act in different ways and I think that’s one of the most beautiful things of this show ❤️

Pin es tierna, pero vive bajo el manejo de su tía, sin tener autonomía, sin tener el coraje suficiente para luchar. Ellas van a ser felices, cuando ambas luchen juntas, Anin ya lo hizo, falta que lo haga Pin, que reaccione antes que sea demasiado tarde.

Another part that destroyed me, that Anil does not want to stay in the Pine Palace anymore, she literally made the house to stay close of Pin, to see her from her windwons, to live with her eventualy. She cant stay there anymore. So heart broking

Y Pin en su forma de ver las cosas por como fue criada realmente cree que esta protegiendo a Anin y a la familia de Anin no permitiendo que Anin renuncie a su titulo (lo que llevaria a Anin no solo a abandonar su titulo sino dejar a su familia para poder vivir su amor con Pin) y en el libro muestran una Pin mucho mas afectada que lo que mostraron aca en la serie
En este episodio se empieza a ver claramente la diferencia entre Anin y Pin mientras Anin sufre rodeada de mucha gente que la ama y la consuela como su hermano mayor, Prik, Pia, su prima que mas alla de que esta enamorada de ella le dice que no renuncie que siga luchando que ella solo quiere que sea feliz en el amor y su mama que aunque no entiende o no esta de acuerdo con el amor de Anin por Pin le dice que nunca se enojaria con ella que es la luz de sus ojos esto demuestra como Anin crecio con todo el amor y el apoyo de los que la rodean muy diferente de Pin que siempre la que la protegio de todo fue Anin que ahora esta enojada con ella y la otra que tendria que cuidarla y protegerla es su tia (que siempre que Pin hacia algo fuera de lo que se suponia tenia que hacer era castigada) y es la persona que la esta obligando a casarse con alguien que no ama asique vemos a Pin sufrir sola en completo silencio

Pin - Oh boy pin pin pin well I will never fault Pin for anything this episode. I will start off with this quote of mine " Everyone wishes to be like Anil when in reality there have been and still are so much more Pins than Anils in this world". Anil to me is inspiring and Pin to me is relatable so I have an equally strong liking to both these characters. You guys understand Pin but can't relate to her on a deeper level, the people supporting and defending Pin have likely real life experiences or can put themselves in her position rather than surface level understanding. I am not blaming anybody who can't because we all have such vast and diverse lives and experiences. I just want to share and explain my opinions. I have seen multiple people (mostly women and couple men) like Pin who haven't any social power and agency to fight for anything in their lives. For an anecdote is that my own mother and grandma have gone through a forced arrange marriage just as quickly as Pin. When Pin was begging on the floor to her Aunt Patt in the previous ep I was suddenly overcome with the memories of my mom and grandma telling me their marriage experiences they too begged and cried and pleaded so much even starved but couldn't change anything. My grandma lived a miserable marriage she only got some agency in life after my grandpa passed away due to sickness and old age she would often tell me that her whole life was devoted to her husband and children and none for her own and sorry to get dark for a bit, she even considered committing suicide but couldn't as she had children to think about and even that would reflect badly on her family name so she endured and now she is too old to do anything for herself. She kept on being with my grandpa despite everything because it was ingrained in her from childhood that a woman leaving her husband for any reason is a disgrace to her and her whole family name and she shouldn't do anything outside of what was decided for her already just because she was born a girl in this misogynistic society. She holds that belief somewhat still. My mother life is tragic in a different way she was forced by my grandparents/her parents just like they were. Her marriage with my father only lasted for 5 years as they got divorced I was a 4 year old baby then. My mom has lived the single mom life. she and my grandparents raised me. she wanted to get second marriage, most men only agreed to marry her for her looks or money and didn't accept her daughter(me). They wanted a childless woman or even accepting a woman with a boy child not a girl child. I am saying all this so that maybe it could help you truly understand the impossible situation Pin is in. Its not about why is she not fighting and giving up because she already fought as much as she could within her limit maybe that could change as the eps go on. Maybe if Pin had her own birth parents she could have fought more or done somethings differently. Its difficult to go against your birth parents who raised you but for Pin its even cruel as she owes her whole being to her aunt's and royal's kindness. So many modern people in some parts of the world are privileged and blessed like Anil to have strong mentality and loving doting parents who sent her abroad to study for Anil it might be painful and burdensome but it is a big privilege to get that kind of high education back in the day so when we look from her POV a person like Pin seems too weak of a person, we loved and idealized Anil so much that we forgot the reality that is Pin's life and her POV. Pin was never allowed to desire anything in life meanwhile Anil got all that she wanted and even more that would ultimately be beneficial to her. For Pin the one person she desired and went for is Anil even then Anil was the one who helped Pin with realizing her own feelings. That's why Pin is so attached to Anil she was the one person who was with her for everything since childhood and gave her agency to understand love and respected her. Pin is scared of losing that one important person who is everything to her. I think that's why she apologizes and asks Anil to understand. I know it doesn't seem fair or right to ask that from Anil's POV.

I do agree with what Fabio and Maria said in the live about how Pin made her choice and she should let Anil go and shouldn't hold her back when she was having her moment with Princess Uangfah but all these events happened maybe within 10 or so days so Pin is still feeling intense emotions unlike Anil she couldn't process them with anyone else or verbally to herself all is going on internally for her maybe in that moment she felt insecure or some mixed emotion but she didn't do anything other than cry silently out of their sight. I think Pin believed Anil would find some way for them to be together but they were reckless and couldn't take Aunt Patt finding into consideration so in that intense moment when Anil said she would give up her title to be with Pin it made Pin also reconsider her decision and give in to marrying khun kuea. Pin was so grateful to her aunt for letting her wear the ring like that's such a small thing to have agency over and she's thankful for that she thinks she has no right to ask for more not even the bare minimum. Aunt Patt even apologized to Anil's mom on behalf of Pin for her "disgraceful behavior". Pin is no different than Prik she is a glorified servant just maybe one level above Prik in status. The only thing Pin has autonomy over is her love for Anil. Even still Pin in some ways is more brave than most who have been in her situation. I have seen friends of mine give up their love and marry other people selected by their parents they were so afraid they didn't fight or even plead and broke up in the privacy of their own so that their relationship would remain a secret forever and only known to few trusted friends. The memories, love and relation is remembered and kept in their hearts alone . They then accepted their arranged marriage in silence. I myself am a mixture of Anil and Pin I have some privilege and am strong in some aspects of my life but in other aspects I am powerless and have to accept my fate and situation and make sacrifices I don't wish make. Obviously The loyal pin has a happy ending and is fictional but when we take the moments seriously in real life it becomes much terrible to think about this episode brought back so many memories, peoples, conversations and stories from my own life. I really hope the production and crew end the series on a high note and take time to give meaningful proper resolution to character conflicts and to subvert it. Make it truly impactful. Big praise to the whole production and the main actors and all supporting actors. I am too picky and conscious with the kind of media I consume in my adult years and also because of work life and personal family life time constrains. The series really surpassed the book, although the novel is one of the best of its genre, it was also a best-seller before the launch of the series and after and the author received an award for it, I think the adaptation improved some things and of course the direction was crucial in making the work impeccable, in addition to some really complex and realistic dialogues.
A friend once told me, “If I were a screenwriter, I would let Khun Pin commit suicide and leave those who remain to live in torment and guilt.” After finishing episode 13, I thought, who knows, maybe that was a good choice for Khun Pin. Although I know that seeking death is a negative thing, sometimes I see it as a release. No matter how beautiful a bird in a cage is, if it is surrounded by only cold iron bars, how can it sing happily? Living in a place where no one understands her, always imposing their thoughts on her, it is all just their own selfishness. Even the person she loves says she loves her more than anything, but in fact that love is a fierce fire that burns everything it passes through, without thinking about the beautiful scenery around. If everything has pushed her to the end, I think death is also the best release, even though it is negative, it is still better than being a beautiful bird counting the days to die. Maybe I've become a negative extremist.

Eungfah is the daughter of Princess Dararai who is literally the sister of Anin's mom. They're a very close cousin who are connected by blood so any romantic rs between Anil and Eungfah is impossible and Euangfah knows that from the start. So I'm sorry but it's weird to view them like that While between Anil and Pin they're not blood related at all. Aunt Patt brought into the Sawetawarit family and Pin also adopted. Eventhough Anin in status is Pin's aunt but thats just for the hierarchical views
I’m not sure in Thai culture back then but many years ago it was a more common thing to cousins to be married to eo (obviously not the same sex) so although I would never ship them and incest is definitely not something I personally support, I don’t find it that weird for that time? I don’t know but it just based on my personal background and knowledge of course 😊

In the novel the big brother (Prince Anan) fall in love with Eungfah but he can never pursue her bc she's a very close cousin and even after he got married with Lady Paravati he still unable to forget her. In the series they didn't touch this story but in this episode they did it subtly without mentioning who Prince Anan loved. So eventhough it's common to marry long distance cousins it's unlikely for a very close ones

The talk between the brother and Anil is so important, because Anil of course is angry and desapoint, and cant understand why Pin did that, but the talk with her brother will help her to see everything more clear hen time pass
This episode was devastating, I cried so much. I'm normally so like-minded with you 2 but my opinions on Pin were very different to yours, maybe because of different life experiences, maybe because I read the book, she needed far more understanding than you provided in reaction. At least I found many people below with similar views so I did not feel so out of sync. Please know I love your reactions and agree with your reaction to all other characters, it is just the one thing I needed to say.
We received so many comments regarding Pin!! And they are all very insightful ❤️ we come from a different background so we were a bit harsher but we do understand her 🫶🏻
I have seen many stories both fiction and real life incidents of people like Pin who are of lower caste status who loves another of upper caste and some get forcefully separated or literally brutally murdered some even in public for daring to want something even if its just love from an higher status society person. Even if their love is mutual the lower caste person is the one who faces the most danger and scrutiny and sometimes both lovers are killed by their parents/relatives/other members in the name of bringing disgrace to their family names. And these examples are all straight couples/peoples it is certainly much worse for queer people/couples if we add their caste on top of their queerness. Things are progressing nowadays but acceptance is still slow in different states and areas. People still perpetuate and uphold the same ideologies from generations ago.. All of this is to say that Pin and her aunt are alive and not banished because Anil's parents are kind people but they wouldn't dare test or even try to take advantage of their kindness and hospitality. The loyal Pin so far is the only series in the GL genre that sheds light on the realistic struggles of women and classism its not very deep or elaborate but its genuinely trying and I really love and appreciate it so much. Its definitely a cut above the other GL series that are either completed or running. I won't even put it in a GL genre its a great Queer/LGBTQ+ piece of media. To me personally a piece of media with themes like this is not new I have seen multiple media with similar themes and stories from my own country. I am also new to the GL genre I mostly watch other variety media with progressive intersectional themes and turn off brain fun movies as well because life stress😮💨😮💨😓😖😖 But this series from Thailand especially focusing on Sapphic love and adding some good feminism elements is much important and appreciated. The loyal pin is the only show as of now with characters whose decisions are influenced by their upbringing and personalities and social environments and not some contrived plot convenience and/or contradicting and incomprehensible character actions. It is genuinely great and needed .This is truly a character focused show with amazing yet so different main characters and a wonderful well developed secondary/supporting characters. When you guys mentioned that Pin had Prik to console her no she didn't Prik consoled and shared pain with Anil but she only looked after and gave food to Pin she didn't cry or console her deeply. Anil throughout this episode is able to express her pain and heartbreak loudly and verbally with her brother, Prik and Lady Uangfah meanwhile Pin is only able to express her pain holding a toy and quietly she can't even say anything verbally while crying and that loneliness is suffocating and agonizing. Anil giving up title is not a easy simple thing it has severe repercussions and even Anil went back and apologized to her mom she wasn't fully grasping it at that moment prior yet but Pin fully understands about it. She would never separate Anil from her family she of all people know how much Anil's family loves and cherishes Anil she saw it her whole life. Pin also lacks that kind of unconditional parental love. Even if Anil chooses Pin over her family and royal title and they both runaway the problems will follow them the announcement would be public the humiliation and burden and blame will fall mostly on Pin the lower status person and public would badmouth Anil as well. Pin would rather live her remaining life in misery with Khun Kuea than cause any disgrace to Anil and her family this way only she suffers yes Anil would also suffer but in her POV atleast Anil will have her loving family to support her and her name wouldn't be shamed. For Anil her biggest sacrifice in her POV is her royal title and for Pin her biggest sacrifice in her POV is her own love and life. They are both experiencing their own pain right now and so are unable to fully understand the pain the other is going through because of their decisions.

First of all this is my first time commenting and pls forgive me for any mistakes in my Grammar or spelling or sentencing because english is not my first language I am only moderately fluent in it. The Loyal Pin series is the only reaction and live that I follow from you guys continuously and currently I am watching your pluto reaction and live as well. I didn't like Blank the series I have watched it two times I have my own criticisms of that series and no ill will or dislike to anyone who genuinely likes Blank the series and finds enjoyment and comfort in it, but for me I just couldn't like it. I am not going to list my reasons and critiques here I might leave a detailed comment on one of your Blank videos. Now onto The loyal Pin ep 13 thoughts. I have so much to say so I will cut and post as multiple comments pls forgive me for any inconvenience. Anil - She had been my favorite character in the series because her personality and the way she is written many times I was surprised by her actions because she subverted a lot of my expectations. But ep 13 made me see another side of her the powerless and angry side. Powerless because the fact is that Anil is a princess with so much privilege and she always got what she desired either directly by asking her parents or her older brother or she was clever enough to plan ahead so she could fulfil her desires. I was surprised and always appreciated her quick thinking and cleverness. Anger because her love of Pin is the one thing no matter how much she fights openly she cant achieve it and she doesn't have the time to plan something clever to help them out of their situation. On one had I initially understood her anger and avoidance towards pin but later after sitting with it I think she should have realized the impossible situation pin is in and she truly can't do anything hopefully she will realize it later. but I totally understand her initial anger towards pin. Its just unfortunate that its presented as Anil (fighting) vs Pin (give up) when in reality we have to take into consideration a lot other factors because they are both losing. Prince Anan was supportive as best as he could but he too said with time she will become stronger and to get over Pin. Princess Uangfah was the MVP amazing person truly selfless, understanding, compassionate and very strong in her own right. I am glad Anil had someone who truly and completely understood and empathized with her pain. I just love and appreciate her character so much. Queen behavior indeed. Don't have much to say about the mom and Aunt Patt they may try to understand the girls love to a little extent but ultimately for them upholding royal rules and hierarchy is important.

TLP is by far the best Thai period drama in a long time and downgrading it to a mere GL doesn't do it justice. The quality of the script is top notch, in fact the person who adapted the novel is a screenwriter who belongs to the Thai Writers' Association, the director is an expert in period dramas, not only because he realistically portrays the difficult cultural environment of women at that time but he does so under a concept of feminist independence, a movement that already existed at that time. I congratulate the author who created the most sober lesbian character in GL, I am referring to Anil.
And I agree. Subjectively this is not my favourite genre but I’ll admit that this is a masterpiece and it’s by far the best period drama I’ve watched. I hope it gets the awards that it deserves ❤️

So dissapointed , now i dont want to watch your reaction anymore 😞 You need to think the situation on that period and thai culture. Anil surrender her is not as simple as you think. You can search princess mako as you reverence (renounced royal status to marry commoner). When you renounced your royal status you need to stay out the palace, and it will be harder for anil to meet her family cause she will be commoner, and reminds you anil not yet finish her study and never ever ever live ouside palace, without her servant. If anything Anil is short sighted and didn’t think things through. Do you think she will be happy to be away from her family? Not to mention all the question people will ask why she renounced her royal status. It's affecting her family reputation, not only hers Didn’t she also said she's ungrateful child for saying she want to surrender her title and make her mom hurt? From our perspective Anin is not toxic at all, she is who she is. There’s a lot of toxic characters in GLs but for us Anin is definitely an exception; Pin too obviously. We are not Thai and we have a different cultural background and yes we try to understand both sides of the characters for who they are. Not from who we want them to be. That said you are disappointed for what exactly, our own personal opinion? We are not attacking the actresses nor the production team, we just give our personal opinions based on the moment we watch and then we analyse the episode later (which can bring different ideas from the very first impression) with other people in the comment section to see everyone’s perspective and reasoning which can match our own or not, but we always respected boundaries. @TGAreactions idk if you read the book or not, but anil in the series definitely have toxic trait that not in the book but added in the series. like when she tried to make khun pin jealous by playing/using uangfa feeling without uangfa knowing and some unnecessary line like I'm bored This episode too, I understand the initial feeling of Anil being hurt, when she's ready to sacrifice everything to fight for their love, but Pin not doing the same. But I also understand the intention of Khun Pin. Pin try to do what's the best for everyone. For Pin, Anil give up her royal status is not is not the best solution. For who don't understand Thai culture ,they might not understand this. It's not just a title, it's the family. I read some explanation that if you give up your royal status you have change your last name, go out from the palace and will be hard to meet her family cause she become a commoner. Do you think Pin will be happy if anil do that? Even without knowing this, why Pin decided that should be clear to everyone especially Anil. Khun pin her whole life feel inferior and indebt to Anil Family and her Aunt. I agree everyone have different opinions/perspective and for me Anil recieving uangfa invitation to stay at pine palace just to punish/take revange or whatever is this action just to hurt pin is toxic. (remind you : Pine palace is the place that Anil said just for her and khun pin, so double hurt there) So yes. That last scene is the perfect representation of what Pin is going through - suffering in silence. She has no one to whom she can share her pain - no one. She, who lost her family would never want to be the reason for someone else to go through the same loss.

The losing of title sin't just about status but being cut off from family. Pin would never allow Anil to do that, even if that means losing her herself. Her mother secretly hopes that Anin moves on and doesn't feel bad for her heartbreak. Her 2nd brother teased her. Her dad ordered her to attend the ceremony. Prik was actually beside both Anin and Pin (first half with Pin and 2nd half with Anin) but what she can do as a servant?
Pin chose to marry a man. Live with a man in the house beside Anil’s house. She hurt Anil
So actually, Thai people explained it's not "just a title". Giving up her title Anil would have to leave the palace and basically cut ties with her family. That's why her mom is so terrified of the idea and Pin doesn't want her to do it.
It makes sense then, Pin didn’t want Anin to sacrifice everything!

16:54 On Anin giving up her title, I think it means more than just losing her rank. I’m not Thai so I’m not sure how it works exactly in Thailand but usually giving up your title means you’re no longer welcome in royal spaces mostly, even your home. It’s almost like you’re shunned and have to live separately, with you losing your family along with your title.
That’s why her mom is so distraught at the thought of Anin doing that, and why Pin, an orphan with no family besides Aunt Patt (and we know how she is), so desperately doesn’t want her to do that. She knows how it feels to not have that and doesn’t want Anin to go through the same. It also makes Anin wanting to do that for Pin so much more impactful because we see how great her family is, and how she has so much to lose if she gives up her title.
But again I’m not Thai, so I’m not certain about the details beyond knowing that’s how it typically goes when royals give up their title, especially in that time 😅
Even if I am Thai but I do not have detailed info about this. However, Anin's titile is "Mom Chao" which is the last rank of royal and considered a member of the royal family. Other titles after this rank will be considered as only commoners. I believe it is not very easy to do and Anin needs to give up many things in her life as well if she does that.

I think lots of non-Thai folks also picked up on it but yeah, having it be stated in the series what this could mean, would give folks that don’t completely understand it a bit more context to explain why Pin does what she does.

This episode make us all cry and teary eyes.... I watch it 4 times here and everytime i watch anil and pin in sorrow i'm crying😭😭😭... This too much heartbreaking...💔💔💔

This episode felt incredibly relatable. I am just so thankful to the writer of the loyal pin and the whole production team for keeping it beautifully realistic unlike some shows where they make the parents/guardians stupidly and randomly homophobic and then out of nowhere make them do the "right thing" aka the redemption arc. That's simply not how it works in reality. Queer people are forced to do things against their wishes their whole lives, that's why most of us end up killing ourselves.
It's been hours and i still haven't stopped crying. As a closeted lesbian trapped in a misogynistic and extremely homophobic country, i felt like i was watching my own story. I felt each sob, every teardrop in my soul. This is the reality of thousands of lesbians who are forced to marry men in conservative, patriarchal societies. When anin said "she feels inferior to every man in the world" and "she lost to kua just because he's a man" omg that broke me. I don't think I'll ever recover from this.
I agree and also appreciate the realistic portrayal than other shows where conflict is merely individual plot based and not a societal one . In real life some people are blatant bigots and they dont change over nite while some people have inherited and internalized the bigoted views and they are also difficult to deal with. Sometimes we can fully cut them off from our lives and sometimes we have no choice but to tolerate them. Sometimes they do show change and growth but its always very slow and take a lot of time and work. Rarely do they truly have a complete change of heart and mind quickly.
I too am from a conservative and misogynistic country I am the most progressive minded person in my family and I still have a lot learn and improve upon. My mom and grandma have some progressive views on certain sections of women's rights but they also have heavy internalized misogyny even I am still unlearning the toxic ideals that have been thought to, experienced and witnessed by me since childhood.
The loyal pin is showing the very real suffering and struggles of queer women at that time and even though it will have a happy ending we shouldn't forget the real life struggles that these women and other queer people have faced and are still facing in this world.

We're stuck in the same homophobic women-hating patriarchal society so the shows like the loyal pin hit us different. Hoping we'll get out of here and live our lives the way we want to. I'm more worried about the people who are more disenfranchised or in a worse situation than me, personally I do have my fair share of struggles that I face but not nearly as bad someone else out there. My heart really go out to those people. I just wish society would progress quickly, queer people and women shouldn't have to wait for permission or acceptance just to live their lives peacefully. So many terrible things are happening all around the world now. Hopefully things change quickly. Thank u for ur reply I pray things change for you so u can live ur true best life. Take care.

You know, this episode is brutal and left the fandom traumatized. lol
I think this episode has been effective in showing how with or without support, pain is pain. Anil and Pin’s pain is equally horrible no matter what side the are. Having someone or not having anyone in your corner, doesn’t make their struggle any better for one over the other because when left alone, they are still left to feel that pain.
Every character’s choices are grounded in their perspective and their background. Aunt Pad, for instance, sees marriage as the quickest solution because, for that time, at that era, it truly was. Even if that’s mean risking her relationship with her niece. Anin believes giving up her royal status could resolve things from her side, even if that’s mean cutting ties with her own family. While Khun Pin agrees to marry Kua, seeing it as the least damaging choice to preserve everyone's relationship, but her own with Anil, which that’s mean sacrifice her own future and live in regret for the rest of her life. These are all difficult decisions. They’re both on a losing end.
Anin lost the woman she love the most to the guy she saw as a loser this whole time just because Kua is a man, that shattered my heart so bad. This episode shed light on a very important topic about women at the time were utterly powerless. Even Anin being the princess could do nothing just because her "competitor" is a man. She was right, what good is a title if in the end she's the same as others - forced to accept what the elders want. She, a literal princess, is not able to do anything, what more of Pin can do then? Even after seeing all that pain she cause to her niece, the aunt still says Pin brought disgrace to the royals. And later, Pin even feel grateful to her aunt when she can keep wearing the ring. That's how disgustingly Pin is treated and mentally abused.
The ending scenes twisting the knife that already buried deep in our wounds, where Anin broke down, sobs wracking her body, unable to breathe while on the comfort of her cousin's arms, while Pin only can witnessed it all silently and she couldn't do anything. All she could do was bite her fist, cover her mouth to silence her own anguish, and still..for the sake of everyone but her.
And finally, Freen Sarocha and Rebecca Patricia Amstrong, What a phenomenal actresses you guys have grown into. They both have put on a tremendous performance in this episode. Freen didn't have much lines at all and Becky had to spit fire. Such opposing behaviors but I could feel every single emotion from them. Every single freaking emotion was so well portrayed. FB today have reached a new peak of their acting prowess.
Oh and finally, Congrats for The Loyal Pin for reaching 100 million views in 85 days. Hope its going to keep moving up 👏The best GL series i've ever watched. Its so so good on everything.
And the worst news is we have 3 episodes left. I'M NOT READY!!

Freen and Becky they were both phenomenal in this episode and throughout the all series, The Loyal Pin is definitely the best GL ever produced for us, it will be very very hard to top it. Congrats on the 100 ml views, here hoping it gets even more recognition, it’s a masterpiece
By far the best episode of a period drama in a long time, it was sober because it touched on realistic points, the acting level was very high even from the secondary characters and what I always highlight is how the camera and the exteriors play a very important role in ANIPIN's mood. I always recommend that TLP should be seen with the eyes of its time, not with the eyes of today, since the social contexts are not similar, although some things still need to be improved, mainly with women.
beautifully said!! The societal lens of today (though flawed) shouldn’t be applied to a period piece like this. Fact of the matter is things were different then and quite a number of things restricted women. I adore how the series reflects this - it’s such an immersive experience. Kudos to all parties involved in this pure art

Pin is not expressive and mostly have been without anyone by her side who can actually understand how she felt apart from Anin, .. but now she cannot turn to her .. on the other hand Anin brave, expressive but hides everything related to her feelings towards Pin from everyone else but this time she came out in front of so many people but things did not turn out as the way she thought , she is broken into pieces as well as her strength is broken because that was always Pin..
They both are so good .. really expressed what they are in the characters
The scene with Lady Uanghfah is the best.. while Pin listening to it and broke into tears.. even though Pin was busy..she came there because she was insecure that of loosing Anin completely.. I don't know if I interpreted right but that is the reason she came but hope she Heard what Anin said.. that scene was really good..
I always liked Lady Uanghfah and now she is my new Favourite ❤ she is selfless, kind and calm, even though there is a storm going on inside her, she cares even when she knows she will not get anything...she was so in love that she could read Anin from far just by looking at her... She always knew but never confronted this point ..

The most painful for me in Anil and Pin is
- Pin is a person when crying but noone is near her, only Sasa, no family.
- Anil is a person had to see whole engagement preparation in front of her eyes, which tortures her day by day
I cried so hard in this ep, because they reminds me a lot of my own pains that i had in the past, my eyes hurt too much. Pin sacrifices herself not let Anil to lose her tittle, her family which loves her so much because of Pin, Pin knows how hurt without family and i just feel that Pin thinks Anil can find a person better than her, same rank, not like her who has nothing (Pin thinks herself like that)
Anil get hurt a lot because how hard she tries to fight for her love, quit her tittle, wants to leave everything to live with Pin but Pin quit easily.
Both of them ... are painful of love, the more they love each other, the more pain they got.

Although this decision was cruel to both herself and Anil, she felt it was the only way she could protect Anil.🥲

God my heart aches for anin and pin but especially for pin. People who are judging pin's character negatively have to be really insensitive, emotionless and privileged to blame pin in this situation. Pin is THE REALITY of lgbtq+ people (especially youth) stuck in homophobic and misogynistic societies.
Anin is my most fave character and i'm always on her side but I'll still say it, anin has every right to be mad and she's heartbroken but anin has a lot of shoulders to cry on, she is privileged, pin is not. "Pin gave up easily, pin didn't fight for anin", pin isn't doing this willingly, she was forced to go to that route. All pin can do is beg (and she begged with everything she had in episode 12) pin is so powerless and disgustingly and poorly treated by everyone around her, especially by aunt pad. Even after seeing her go through all that pain, aunt pad still said "pin brought disgrace to the royals". She's constantly being reminded how unimportant and unworthy she is. Anin was the only person who genuinely cared about her, she lost her too, she lost her only comfort. She sacrificed herself so anil wouldn't have to leave her family. She didn't want anil to lose her family over her. Her decision is grounded in selflessness, protection and love.

Actually, the blessing from Anin to Pin is meaningful. It's not just 'I wish you to be happy in love,' but rather 'I hope your love will come true in the end'-like finally finding a happy ending in her love life. It's as if she's also blessing herself (both Pin and her), not just Pin alone, and definitely not Pin and Kuekiat. I'm not sure if I've explained this clearly enough, but her blessing is truly meaningful.

#1 Anin's shoes echoing on the staircase.
With determination of what's to come.
#2 Pin's eyes taking in all of Anin's presence, elegance, aura and the love Anin gave her.
Forever engraved in her heart, soul and mind.
#3 Anin's older brother sharing the color BLUE = making their bond stronger.

Becky’s acting here was exquisite! Uangfah is the mvp. I think Pin is in as much pain as Anin for she has to marry Kua. Kua needs someone to pick out his clothes for him, and never wear that pumpkin jacket and pepto bismal pink suit again! I know Aunty is totally wrong but I still love her. Who is more clueless-dad or younger brother Arnon? Don’t give up Anin! There’s dirt to be dug up on Kua. Get him!😮

I'm not sure if you noticed, but during the engagement, everyone was wearing pink except for older brother who was wearing blue. I feel like it was a representation of him being bias to Anin. But that's just me.
Also, there's an interview of Charm (Aunte Patt) in English, it's very good actually. She mentioned there that the director really detail oriented and there's a lot of symbolism like the pinwheel stopped spinning and the caged bird before showing Pin.
And during the scene where Anin denounced her title, Charm's initial reaction was to cry because she was sad for the 2 and want them to be together. She was a low-key shipper 😂.
I'm laughing about this now but I was crying the entire episode.

I have to say I understand everyone side in this episode, when you take in consideration the time and the social background, it's hard to point fingers (except for Kuat, he's garbage).
Auntie Patt was always a servant to the royal family, it's the only way she knows how to live, and she carved that into Pin's mind. They both only see things in what's proper and what's not. Anin on the other hand has always been free to do everything she wanted, everyone around her has always made sure she would get what she wanted no matter what, so in her mind if she wants something she just have to make it happen, properness doesn't factor in her mind.

I’m referring to how Anin was treated as a child and teenager, how her formative years shaped her personality, and how she views the world. The first three episodes do a great job of showing how Anin was raised; you don’t even need to read the books to see this. She was never brought up to act like a typical princess; she was never taught to be prim and proper. In fact, everyone around her always encouraged her to be herself. Her father loved her free spirit, her brother wanted her to keep challenging the world around her, and he would do anything she asked of him. Even Pin, Prik, and Auntie Patt would give in to her whims. If she didn’t want to go to England, she just had to say so (Yes, this part is only in the book, where it’s shown that she really wanted to go because she thirsted for knowledge, but the conversation she has with her brother in the series should hint that she went willingly, even though she didn’t want to leave Pin), the same way she just told her mother she would not get married and her mom said nothing.
This is the first time she has encountered something she can’t have.

Ellas van a ser felices, cuando ambas luchen juntas, Anin ya lo hizo, falta que lo haga Pin, que reaccione antes que sea demasiado tarde.

Y Pin en su forma de ver las cosas por como fue criada realmente cree que esta protegiendo a Anin y a la familia de Anin no permitiendo que Anin renuncie a su titulo (lo que llevaria a Anin no solo a abandonar su titulo sino dejar a su familia para poder vivir su amor con Pin) y en el libro muestran una Pin mucho mas afectada que lo que mostraron aca en la serie

En este episodio se empieza a ver claramente la diferencia entre Anin y Pin mientras Anin sufre rodeada de mucha gente que la ama y la consuela como su hermano mayor, Prik, Pia, su prima que mas alla de que esta enamorada de ella le dice que no renuncie que siga luchando que ella solo quiere que sea feliz en el amor y su mama que aunque no entiende o no esta de acuerdo con el amor de Anin por Pin le dice que nunca se enojaria con ella que es la luz de sus ojos esto demuestra como Anin crecio con todo el amor y el apoyo de los que la rodean muy diferente de Pin que siempre la que la protegio de todo fue Anin que ahora esta enojada con ella y la otra que tendria que cuidarla y protegerla es su tia (que siempre que Pin hacia algo fuera de lo que se suponia tenia que hacer era castigada) y es la persona que la esta obligando a casarse con alguien que no ama asique vemos a Pin sufrir sola en completo silencio

Pin - Oh boy pin pin pin well I will never fault Pin for anything this episode. I will start off with this quote of mine " Everyone wishes to be like Anil when in reality there have been and still are so much more Pins than Anils in this world".
Anil to me is inspiring and Pin to me is relatable so I have an equally strong liking to both these characters. You guys understand Pin but can't relate to her on a deeper level, the people supporting and defending Pin have likely real life experiences or can put themselves in her position rather than surface level understanding. I am not blaming anybody who can't because we all have such vast and diverse lives and experiences. I just want to share and explain my opinions.
I have seen multiple people (mostly women and couple men) like Pin who haven't any social power and agency to fight for anything in their lives. For an anecdote is that my own mother and grandma have gone through a forced arrange marriage just as quickly as Pin.
When Pin was begging on the floor to her Aunt Patt in the previous ep I was suddenly overcome with the memories of my mom and grandma telling me their marriage experiences they too begged and cried and pleaded so much even starved but couldn't change anything.
My grandma lived a miserable marriage she only got some agency in life after my grandpa passed away due to sickness and old age she would often tell me that her whole life was devoted to her husband and children and none for her own and sorry to get dark for a bit, she even considered committing suicide but couldn't as she had children to think about and even that would reflect badly on her family name so she endured and now she is too old to do anything for herself. She kept on being with my grandpa despite everything because it was ingrained in her from childhood that a woman leaving her husband for any reason is a disgrace to her and her whole family name and she shouldn't do anything outside of what was decided for her already just because she was born a girl in this misogynistic society. She holds that belief somewhat still.
My mother life is tragic in a different way she was forced by my grandparents/her parents just like they were. Her marriage with my father only lasted for 5 years as they got divorced I was a 4 year old baby then. My mom has lived the single mom life. she and my grandparents raised me.
she wanted to get second marriage, most men only agreed to marry her for her looks or money and didn't accept her daughter(me). They wanted a childless woman or even accepting a woman with a boy child not a girl child.
I am saying all this so that maybe it could help you truly understand the impossible situation Pin is in. Its not about why is she not fighting and giving up because she already fought as much as she could within her limit maybe that could change as the eps go on.
Maybe if Pin had her own birth parents she could have fought more or done somethings differently. Its difficult to go against your birth parents who raised you but for Pin its even cruel as she owes her whole being to her aunt's and royal's kindness. So many modern people in some parts of the world are privileged and blessed like Anil to have strong mentality and loving doting parents who sent her abroad to study for Anil it might be painful and burdensome but it is a big privilege to get that kind of high education back in the day so when we look from her POV a person like Pin seems too weak of a person, we loved and idealized Anil so much that we forgot the reality that is Pin's life and her POV. Pin was never allowed to desire anything in life meanwhile Anil got all that she wanted and even more that would ultimately be beneficial to her. For Pin the one person she desired and went for is Anil even then Anil was the one who helped Pin with realizing her own feelings. That's why Pin is so attached to Anil she was the one person who was with her for everything since childhood and gave her agency to understand love and respected her. Pin is scared of losing that one important person who is everything to her. I think that's why she apologizes and asks Anil to understand. I know it doesn't seem fair or right to ask that from Anil's POV.

I do agree with what Fabio and Maria said in the live about how Pin made her choice and she should let Anil go and shouldn't hold her back when she was having her moment with Princess Uangfah but all these events happened maybe within 10 or so days so Pin is still feeling intense emotions unlike Anil she couldn't process them with anyone else or verbally to herself all is going on internally for her maybe in that moment she felt insecure or some mixed emotion but she didn't do anything other than cry silently out of their sight.
I think Pin believed Anil would find some way for them to be together but they were reckless and couldn't take Aunt Patt finding into consideration so in that intense moment when Anil said she would give up her title to be with Pin it made Pin also reconsider her decision and give in to marrying khun kuea.
Pin was so grateful to her aunt for letting her wear the ring like that's such a small thing to have agency over and she's thankful for that she thinks she has no right to ask for more not even the bare minimum. Aunt Patt even apologized to Anil's mom on behalf of Pin for her "disgraceful behavior". Pin is no different than Prik she is a glorified servant just maybe one level above Prik in status. The only thing Pin has autonomy over is her love for Anil.
Even still Pin in some ways is more brave than most who have been in her situation. I have seen friends of mine give up their love and marry other people selected by their parents they were so afraid they didn't fight or even plead and broke up in the privacy of their own so that their relationship would remain a secret forever and only known to few trusted friends. The memories, love and relation is remembered and kept in their hearts alone . They then accepted their arranged marriage in silence. I myself am a mixture of Anil and Pin I have some privilege and am strong in some aspects of my life but in other aspects I am powerless and have to accept my fate and situation and make sacrifices I don't wish make.
Obviously The loyal pin has a happy ending and is fictional but when we take the moments seriously in real life it becomes much terrible to think about this episode brought back so many memories, peoples, conversations and stories from my own life.
I really hope the production and crew end the series on a high note and take time to give meaningful proper resolution to character conflicts and to subvert it. Make it truly impactful.

The series really surpassed the book, although the novel is one of the best of its genre, it was also a best-seller before the launch of the series and after and the author received an award for it, I think the adaptation improved some things and of course the direction was crucial in making the work impeccable, in addition to some really complex and realistic dialogues.
We haven’t red the novel but this show is truly flawless ❤️

A friend once told me, “If I were a screenwriter, I would let Khun Pin commit suicide and leave those who remain to live in torment and guilt.” After finishing episode 13, I thought, who knows, maybe that was a good choice for Khun Pin. Although I know that seeking death is a negative thing, sometimes I see it as a release. No matter how beautiful a bird in a cage is, if it is surrounded by only cold iron bars, how can it sing happily? Living in a place where no one understands her, always imposing their thoughts on her, it is all just their own selfishness. Even the person she loves says she loves her more than anything, but in fact that love is a fierce fire that burns everything it passes through, without thinking about the beautiful scenery around. If everything has pushed her to the end, I think death is also the best release, even though it is negative, it is still better than being a beautiful bird counting the days to die. Maybe I've become a negative extremist.

Eungfah is the daughter of Princess Dararai who is literally the sister of Anin's mom. They're a very close cousin who are connected by blood so any romantic rs between Anil and Eungfah is impossible and Euangfah knows that from the start. So I'm sorry but it's weird to view them like that
While between Anil and Pin they're not blood related at all. Aunt Patt brought into the Sawetawarit family and Pin also adopted. Eventhough Anin in status is Pin's aunt but thats just for the hierarchical views

In the novel the big brother (Prince Anan) fall in love with Eungfah but he can never pursue her bc she's a very close cousin and even after he got married with Lady Paravati he still unable to forget her. In the series they didn't touch this story but in this episode they did it subtly without mentioning who Prince Anan loved.
So eventhough it's common to marry long distance cousins it's unlikely for a very close ones

This episode was devastating, I cried so much. I'm normally so like-minded with you 2 but my opinions on Pin were very different to yours, maybe because of different life experiences, maybe because I read the book, she needed far more understanding than you provided in reaction.
At least I found many people below with similar views so I did not feel so out of sync.

I have seen many stories both fiction and real life incidents of people like Pin who are of lower caste status who loves another of upper caste and some get forcefully separated or literally brutally murdered some even in public for daring to want something even if its just love from an higher status society person. Even if their love is mutual the lower caste person is the one who faces the most danger and scrutiny and sometimes both lovers are killed by their parents/relatives/other members in the name of bringing disgrace to their family names. And these examples are all straight couples/peoples it is certainly much worse for queer people/couples if we add their caste on top of their queerness.
Things are progressing nowadays but acceptance is still slow in different states and areas. People still perpetuate and uphold the same ideologies from generations ago..
All of this is to say that Pin and her aunt are alive and not banished because Anil's parents are kind people but they wouldn't dare test or even try to take advantage of their kindness and hospitality.
The loyal Pin so far is the only series in the GL genre that sheds light on the realistic struggles of women and classism its not very deep or elaborate but its genuinely trying and I really love and appreciate it so much. Its definitely a cut above the other GL series that are either completed or running. I won't even put it in a GL genre its a great Queer/LGBTQ+ piece of media.
To me personally a piece of media with themes like this is not new I have seen multiple media with similar themes and stories from my own country. I am also new to the GL genre I mostly watch other variety media with progressive intersectional themes and turn off brain fun movies as well because life stress😮💨😮💨😓😖😖
But this series from Thailand especially focusing on Sapphic love and adding some good feminism elements is much important and appreciated.
The loyal pin is the only show as of now with characters whose decisions are influenced by their upbringing and personalities and social environments and not some contrived plot convenience and/or contradicting and incomprehensible character actions. It is genuinely great and needed .This is truly a character focused show with amazing yet so different main characters and a wonderful well developed secondary/supporting characters.
When you guys mentioned that Pin had Prik to console her no she didn't Prik consoled and shared pain with Anil but she only looked after and gave food to Pin she didn't cry or console her deeply. Anil throughout this episode is able to express her pain and heartbreak loudly and verbally with her brother, Prik and Lady Uangfah meanwhile Pin is only able to express her pain holding a toy and quietly she can't even say anything verbally while crying and that loneliness is suffocating and agonizing.
Anil giving up title is not a easy simple thing it has severe repercussions and even Anil went back and apologized to her mom she wasn't fully grasping it at that moment prior yet but Pin fully understands about it. She would never separate Anil from her family she of all people know how much Anil's family loves and cherishes Anil she saw it her whole life.
Pin also lacks that kind of unconditional parental love.
Even if Anil chooses Pin over her family and royal title and they both runaway the problems will follow them the announcement would be public the humiliation and burden and blame will fall mostly on Pin the lower status person and public would badmouth Anil as well. Pin would rather live her remaining life in misery with Khun Kuea than cause any disgrace to Anil and her family this way only she suffers yes Anil would also suffer but in her POV atleast Anil will have her loving family to support her and her name wouldn't be shamed.
For Anil her biggest sacrifice in her POV is her royal title and for Pin her biggest sacrifice in her POV is her own love and life. They are both experiencing their own pain right now and so are unable to fully understand the pain the other is going through because of their decisions.

Hi Guys I really love your reactions and character analysis and opinions mostly they align with mine own as well.
First of all this is my first time commenting and pls forgive me for any mistakes in my Grammar or spelling or sentencing because english is not my first language I am only moderately fluent in it.
The Loyal Pin series is the only reaction and live that I follow from you guys continuously and currently I am watching your pluto reaction and live as well. I didn't like Blank the series I have watched it two times I have my own criticisms of that series and no ill will or dislike to anyone who genuinely likes Blank the series and finds enjoyment and comfort in it, but for me I just couldn't like it. I am not going to list my reasons and critiques here I might leave a detailed comment on one of your Blank videos.
Now onto The loyal Pin ep 13 thoughts.
I have so much to say so I will cut and post as multiple comments pls forgive me for any inconvenience.
Anil - She had been my favorite character in the series because her personality and the way she is written many times I was surprised by her actions because she subverted a lot of my expectations. But ep 13 made me see another side of her the powerless and angry side.
Powerless because the fact is that Anil is a princess with so much privilege and she always got what she desired either directly by asking her parents or her older brother or she was clever enough to plan ahead so she could fulfil her desires. I was surprised and always appreciated her quick thinking and cleverness.
Anger because her love of Pin is the one thing no matter how much she fights openly she cant achieve it and she doesn't have the time to plan something clever to help them out of their situation.
On one had I initially understood her anger and avoidance towards pin but later after sitting with it I think she should have realized the impossible situation pin is in and she truly can't do anything hopefully she will realize it later. but I totally understand her initial anger towards pin. Its just unfortunate that its presented as Anil (fighting) vs Pin (give up) when in reality we have to take into consideration a lot other factors because they are both losing.
Prince Anan was supportive as best as he could but he too said with time she will become stronger and to get over Pin.
Princess Uangfah was the MVP amazing person truly selfless, understanding, compassionate and very strong in her own right. I am glad Anil had someone who truly and completely understood and empathized with her pain. I just love and appreciate her character so much. Queen behavior indeed.
Don't have much to say about the mom and Aunt Patt they may try to understand the girls love to a little extent but ultimately for them upholding royal rules and hierarchy is important.

TLP is by far the best Thai period drama in a long time and downgrading it to a mere GL doesn't do it justice. The quality of the script is top notch, in fact the person who adapted the novel is a screenwriter who belongs to the Thai Writers' Association, the director is an expert in period dramas, not only because he realistically portrays the difficult cultural environment of women at that time but he does so under a concept of feminist independence, a movement that already existed at that time. I congratulate the author who created the most sober lesbian character in GL, I am referring to Anil.
And I agree. Subjectively this is not my favourite genre but I’ll admit that this is a masterpiece and it’s by far the best period drama I’ve watched. I hope it gets the awards that it deserves ❤️

You need to think the situation on that period and thai culture. Anil surrender her is not as simple as you think. You can search princess mako as you reverence (renounced royal status to marry commoner).
When you renounced your royal status you need to stay out the palace, and it will be harder for anil to meet her family cause she will be commoner, and reminds you anil not yet finish her study and never ever ever live ouside palace, without her servant. If anything Anil is short sighted and didn’t think things through. Do you think she will be happy to be away from her family? Not to mention all the question people will ask why she renounced her royal status. It's affecting her family reputation, not only hers

From our perspective Anin is not toxic at all, she is who she is. There’s a lot of toxic characters in GLs but for us Anin is definitely an exception; Pin too obviously.
We are not Thai and we have a different cultural background and yes we try to understand both sides of the characters for who they are. Not from who we want them to be.
That said you are disappointed for what exactly, our own personal opinion?
We are not attacking the actresses nor the production team, we just give our personal opinions based on the moment we watch and then we analyse the episode later (which can bring different ideas from the very first impression) with other people in the comment section to see everyone’s perspective and reasoning which can match our own or not, but we always respected boundaries.

This episode too, I understand the initial feeling of Anil being hurt, when she's ready to sacrifice everything to fight for their love, but Pin not doing the same. But I also understand the intention of Khun Pin. Pin try to do what's the best for everyone.
For Pin, Anil give up her royal status is not is not the best solution. For who don't understand Thai culture ,they might not understand this. It's not just a title, it's the family. I read some explanation that if you give up your royal status you have change your last name, go out from the palace and will be hard to meet her family cause she become a commoner. Do you think Pin will be happy if anil do that?
Even without knowing this, why Pin decided that should be clear to everyone especially Anil. Khun pin her whole life feel inferior and indebt to Anil Family and her Aunt. She tried, even said multiple time that she didn't want to marry khun kua to her aunt, only to get the respond that she didn't get a say for this, and people expect her to said something to Anil brother and mother?? Do you expect Pin to support Anil decisions to abandoned her family and choose her?
Her mom and her brother said Anil should give up her feeling, they know how this wedding will hurt Anil but do nothing to stop the wedding. Yet after that, anil didnt blame her mother for not helping her. She even said she is ungrateful child for saying that to her mom and cause distress to her mom (means she understand the weight of her word of wanting to give up her title). She tell her brother its not his fault for he can't help her. she feel helpless because she's not men. But when it's come to her treatment to khun pin it's so different, when khun pin have lower rank and even more powerless than everyone.
I agree everyone have different opinions/perspective and for me Anil recieving uangfa invitation to stay at pine palace just to punish/take revange or whatever is this action just to hurt pin is toxic.
(remind you : Pine palace is the place that Anil said just for her and khun pin, so double hurt there)
