Ahhh my heart went out to you when the truss rod started lifting the fretboard off...after all the work you already did you now have to re-glue the fretboard.

One word I noticed that does not show up much if at all in the comments is precision. So much of your work is precision work like sanding down the purfling one or 2 thousandths of an inch. Amazing.
That sure looks like a 70's B C Rich B-30 series. They go for about 2500 to 3500 bucks used. Definitely a flattop worth fixing.
That binding repair and adjacent area, was amazing to me. Thanks for the entertainment that I think almost fits the definition of magic! Simply can't believe that binding repair, wow! A little like David Copperfield who I saw in Branson over ten years ago; Magic!

With all the little catastrophes taken care of, the customers skill on the guitar showed that it was well worthwhile. I'm willing to bet the customer was happy as can be. and that's what a guitar repair person always wants to shoot for. most guitarist's always have a favorite guitar that they always like to play. so no matter how much repair work has to be done. it's worth it so that they can play their favorite guitar. I noticed that you mentioned that you don't like to wear gloves. I also don't like to wear gloves, there's something to be said for the tactile sensation when working with your hands on any project, I really depend on it. your success rate on your repairs is AWESOME for sure.
and I agree with you, that guitar possibly received a hard impact at some point. in that area on the back and the bottom of guitar.
Had no idea BC Rich had made acoustic guitars. Looks like a darn fine Martin copy

The TONE! It gots the TONE! Just like my Alvarez you repaired. I can see hwy he wanted it done. I think most would just garage sale the thing and get another. Rich is exactly the way the bottom end sounds on that!

I'd love more customers to submit a little post-fix piece to play an episode out, it's the two greatest questions at the heart of this channel that you yourself can't answer, 1. How does the customer truly feel about your repairs? and 2. what does the customer sound like as a player? Hearing them enjoy their instrument says it all and really gives perfect closure to a project, also by adding a link to them it would be a way for each artist to spread their word too so it's a real organic two-way street, hell you could end up on RSWFM playing your catalogue of clients lol

Another great video! You took care of the cracks, binding, finish, truss rod access and cover, and new saddle with amazing skill. When the truss rod raised the fretboard, I was surprised-I’d never seen that. But it didn’t seem to faze you a bit. Thanks for posting. Still enjoying your incredible work!

Oh, Jerry, this repair was a difficult birth. It means holding on until everything is perfect. You do that very well, that's because of the age, we older people do not give up so fast and always want to complete everything with the measure of satisfaction.

Gerry Thanks for the pipette tip.. Also as far as the Renaissance wax I have been useing it for years on antique restorations it doesnt have the same properties as other waxes so it is VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to use on musical instruments.. You are a Master Sir.. Thank you again..
Jerry that's a rare bird. Bernie Rico was a master luthier his electrics are sought after and very expensive. i have rarely seen a Rico BC rich acoustic from the 70's its a beautifully made instrument.

OK, I am a novice but I built my own banjo some time ago, I have found your videos very informative, but on the belly bulge issue I bought a twenty year old guitar which was a bit on the goosed side, it had a bulge like a beer belly a loose nut, a high action and loads of gouging, I believe I have all but eliminated all its ills but after careful thought I first humidified the guitar, which was almost brittley dry and rigged up a clamp system to slowly flatten the sound board at the bridge, once leaving to dry I made my own bridge Dr from a mallet £2.50 in UK pennies and a dowel I had, I drilled and tapped the wood and used a die on the dowl it's fantastic, the sustain is nice, the action much lower and has retained its shape for a month now keep up with the videos, Mark 😉
I looked up the owner and Bobby Kalamasz used to be in the rock band Damnation of Adam Blessing from Cleveland. I saw them play with Uriah Heep in 1971 or 72 in a memorable concert.

Nice well thought out and executed repair job as usual. I didn’t know that BC Rich ever made acoustic guitars, I really associate them with unique shaped solids like the Mockingbird, I must do a bit of research and find out a bit more about them as it sounded really nice in the hands of its owner.
5 Words... HOLY COW and HOLY COW!
You need a truss-rod adjusting tool that has a right-angle at the end so you don't have to come in from so far out. The guitar sounds fantastic after the repairs.
@nineball26 Get a tool for truss rod adj. from PRS. Thats the type they use and they come with the guitar. They work great...
I just tried to learning guitar and do a little research about which brand or model to buy, until then I saw your videos. Great craftsmanship and will be good for customers to witness their belongings being handled. I do really enjoy to see you working and solve those problems.

BC Rich became well known for radical body shape electrics popular among heavy metal players, Those guitars are fine, but the early acoustics Bernard Rico built are phenomenal guitars. This is - I'm pretty sure - a B-38. The back and sides are gorgeous Brazilian rosewood (at the Martin Custom Shop that wood is a $10,000 option). In nice shape those guitars are a hidden bargain on the collector market. I've played them and they are some of the best sounding acoustics I've ever heard.
I know I'm quite off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online?

A lot of guitar repairmen are extremely narcissistic with really big ego’s. But a master luthier is at peace with self and the instrument. Confident
