Oh my god... I just realized how much of this freaking channel I've watched over the past couple of years... I've seen Linus go from doing motherboard unboxings in his own home to having a team of like 6 people or more working for him in an entire house dedicated just to the channel itself! You guys are an amazing group of people, and I never have any doubt whatsoever when I see a new LTT video pop up in my sub box, that it will be a high quality, funny, and informative video well worth EVERY second of my attention and appreciation. The kitchen filming area, server bathrooms and office bedrooms are one the reasons I watch linustechtips instead of other reviewers on youtube, they make for very intresting backgrounds for videos.

I come home from work after 12 hour days,The first thing i do is jump on my mac and go to my youtube subscription and scroll through and check for any new Linus Tech videos. even if i dont no 100% what you may be talking about in the odd 1 or 2 videos i still enjoy every video and look forward to new ones every day. I think Linus, Luke and the team do such a good job and have such a passion for computers and tech that i would love to see you guys moving forward to produce bigger and better things every day. In my honest opinion, right before the holidays is a bad time to start asking people for donations... People already have to deal with purchasing large amounts of food to cook for Thanksgiving, and then having to worry about presents for Christmas there after, and now they have to start trying to budget to see if they have enough to help out this channel! Don't take this as me being a dick and not wanting to donate. I love this channel and have a rig built from one of the build guides here, but asking for us to do this in the midst of the most money hungry holidays isn't a great idea. I will try to donate when i can, but it doesn't look promising. Keep up the good work and i wish you good luck wherever you end up.

Linus please respond to this comment: People wont donate as the perks are very high and get little back. So either make more perks in between or, make them cheaper. We will be constantly evaluating perks throughout the campaign but physical rewards are something we are very unlikely to add at this time. Most of the cost of (for example) a $20 hat goes to producing a hat then shipping it...
I understand your position; but if they lower the the minimum donation to the point that anyone and everyone can donate, then, in my opinion, the donations loose their personal value for both parties. Meaning since its only a few dollars you don"t care where the money goes; for LMG they will probably value the donations more if they start at a higher minimum, so your donation should go further.

LinusTechTips I don't even care about some badge that is displayed in the forums, physical items would be cool, but are of course unrealistic at 20$. However, I think adding some options especially some under 10$ (or the ability to set the prize of your donation yourself) would most likely help.
Did they ever release the room liquid cooling videos? I vaguely remember seeing a little bit but am positive we did not get a conclusion. It's been a while too. Also, I tried to find the videos, all I could find was a WAN show that "teased" it.

Linus, I've been watching this channel off and on for probably three years, consistently for probably the past year, and I have to say, it's been really cool watching the channel grow from what it started out as to where it is now. Good luck with the crowdfunding and new office searching! Though, I have to admit, I'm really going to miss videos being done in the kitchen. :)
I have some tips for moving your stuff: 1. Newspaper is your friend, pack delicate things (such as glasses, bottles, non-clothing merchandise) with it. 2.Try to not throw away packaging of your peripherals and computer cases. 3.Don't leave your furniture assembled, it will cost space, and may result in scratches during shipping. 4.Unplug the fridge the day before you are moving, or else you are going to have a very bad time when it arrives. I hope these tips will help you reduce costs and damage during. Have a nice day.
These guys are definitely getting a contribution from me! Sure guys like Mkbhd are doing things in their house. But Linus brings me quality videos every damn day of the week. This guy works his butt off while guys like Lew from Unbox Therapy just got himself a studio simply for unboxings and unorthodox videos like bendgate. This is the best thing for us as the viewers! If Ashen can produce a full length feature film from just an old brown sofa, it's proof enough you don't need a fancy office setup to be a successful media company.
The content is simply not the same. You can also argue MKBHD made a successful channel by one person, and while I have the most respect for them, the content is not the same. This channel is for all PC and tech hardware, not for comedy or simple phone review. The marginal cost for this content is simply not the same.
I've been watching linustechtips for years and haven't missed a video since. It's what got me into computers and tech in general and your videos are the first one's I watch when I get home from school. The least I can do is chip in to further the great content you and your team put together. Thank you for giving me and the rest of your viewers such great reviews and entertainment.

Linus, I've been watching you on years and fully support Linus Media Group for the future! I donated because this channel is not only educational but it's filled with entertainment. Not to mention, when I had a personal issue with a build, Linus private messaged me back within the hour to solve the problem! You have my vote!
I doubt this will get recognition, but I've scrolled through about 100 comments by now, and almost three quarters are saying stuff such as "plunge into your own pockets", "get an advertiser to give you money" etc. I'm gonna focus on these 2 main points. "Plunge into your own pockets" - the cost of moving to a place that has to be large is monumental. Do you really think that they expect to get ALL the money from this fundraiser? I mean seriously? OF COURSE they are going to be spending a butt-ton of money from their own pocket. You have to be exceptionally challenged mentally to not understand that. "Get an advertiser to give you money" - Wow. Just seriously, wow. You don't ask someone who is sponsoring you to give you more, that's just silly. They're sponsoring you to show off their product and give you free stuff, not to pay for your company's needs. For this to happen, there'd need to be a serious change in advertisement of one or more specific brand for it to be worth the company shelling out that much money to buy another company a HQ. They never said "buy it for us peasants", they said "help us reach our goal, so we can, in turn, do more for you." This is a massive plus for us as consumers. They're not asking for 5 figures of money from each person watching, just for some money which may be spare. If people love the content, they'll help the creators. This mini-rant was poorly written, with little structure, but it's Friday, so I kinda gave up on grammar.

For all of the people that are bashing this campaign: 1. Most likely you've never contributed financially to LMG, yet you can still enjoy all of their content for free. 2. TH-camrs don't make as much money as you think, even with sponsors, especially when you have to pay a team of 7 people. 3. If every company had as much goodwill from their fan/customer base, none of them would pay for a new office, they would launch a similar campaign. 4. LMG doesn't earn as much as they deserve to since so many people use AdBlock these days. 5. There's no way that they won't reach their goal at this rate, so if you don't choose to or are unable to donate, just be glad that you will get to enjoy all their new content (free as always) for a long time to come =P.

Ok, since LMG is growing so much, I think it's time to ask for OC and Stock benchmarks. Would be nice to see OC comparisons between different cards in new games (AC unity), and to see how much an overclock actually helps. This is going to enable better content in return for your investment, so don't say its an investment with no return, you are essentially paying for future, higher quality content.

So as the channels get bigger and bigger we end up with content that is expensive to produce and scripted. Basically TH-cam is becoming like TV. I know Linus wants to increase its content creation and quality but I don't think that's the reason people subscribed to his channel years ago.
Edzel first started as an intern at Linus (very early in the whole LTT thing) and became a real employee a couple months later. Dennis joined in 2016 I think.
So first of all I have to say that I love your videos and I watch you for 3 years now. But I don't understand why you need so much people and so much workspace to produce all that videos. I mean other channels like MKBHD are producing every single video on their own and you need 7 people and even more? Sure, these channels haven't that video output with 1 video a day but I think it isn't necesarry to employ so much people just for a TH-cam channel.
You dont know how to run a channel this big. mkbhd is an amazing dude but he does not release that often also he does phone things woah thats hard to do review a phone... linus tech tips has a video out every day, benchmarkings when new stuff comes in, he has to get the supplies, so he needs to contact people to get them in. i would love to see you do that all by yourself oh dont forget editing and color correction he needs more people. the more he has the more the quality amps up

They have produced high quality content far from webcam and iPhone video reviews. Sure some content may be shallow but some are absolute gold. I like this channel, and have been subbed for a long time, but the growing trend of these youtuber's asking for money is getting pretty old. If your a business, do what business's do and take out a BUSINESS LOAN.... Stop begging for money from us. We love your content, but seriously, talk to a bank, they can give you wayyyyy more than broke college kids can.
A bank giving them 50,000 means they have to pay it back with interest. On the other hand 50,000 from us means they can focus on moving and making higher quality videos, without having to pay back in cash. If we like the higher quality, then we keep watching which pays his bills. Besides, crowdfunding allows them to get more than just the 50,000, which the bank would limit to. If everyone who watched the video so far gave a dollar they'd already be at 48k. Check the site tomorrow and see if they've made their goal, or surpassed it. He also didn't say to expand, he said to speed it up. That means they can settle in faster, they're already in the process of the move as far as I could tell from the video. Last thing, do a worst case scenario. If Linus managed to piss off all his subscribers and people stopped watching his channel before he got a chance to pay off the bank, then he's finished, along with his entire company and all the employees.

The only way they can make money on a loan is by charging interest I thought. If you know more please tell me, I'd like to know too.

OK, I'll use a metaphor with my life. I want to become a proper animator. What does this require? A beefy computer, a place where I can actually learn crap for college, books and resources, the lot. I'm just a kid. I really am. Based on how you bash down on Linus, I should go out and do chores, maybe some work on my free time, and actually earn my own shit to fund my own dreams. But maybe you don't realise that I already do that, and Linus probably already has gotten loans, carefully planned the funding for the move, and all the rest of it. Of course my parents have to spend a lot of money for things that they'll see on the screen, if I ever succeed. What we'll get from this is maybe a slightly better video. Linus won't be able to help himself even a tiny bit with what we'll ever pay him. But he can get our support, our mind that we're willing to pay even a little bit of money to help him out. My parents are supporting me for the love that I will give them later, and some of the profits I could earn, if I succeed. Stop hating on Linus with your facts. He's probably already done all that. The least you could do is give him that $1 for him to smile at the fact that people are donating what little they can. He wants your support, not your money.

Mark Muller I’m only 5 years late but I don’t think you understood. He doesn’t have an unlimited money mod. It’s not a game. He has to pay for the new office and all his other expenses. How is him providing FREE content and then going and asking for a few bucks so bad. TH-cam can’t cover everything. Also, loans have interest that has to be payed.

Seeing a company grow from the ground up is truly something special. I've seen it with your group/media content/company. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Had the privilege of being around my ex-roomate who basically started an infosec company from nothing ...literally like a 2-man team and seeing grow and what it's done for peoples careers including mine.

The kitchen filming area, server bathrooms and office bedrooms are one the reasons I watch linustechtips instead of other reviewers on youtube, they make for very intresting backgrounds for videos.
Making your point in a humorous video is I think what differentiates your channel from others and I would love to see you guys throughout your journey to achieve what you had in your mind and I'm more than happy to help LMG :)

I come home from work after 12 hour days,The first thing i do is jump on my mac and go to my youtube subscription and scroll through and check for any new Linus Tech videos. even if i dont no 100% what you may be talking about in the odd 1 or 2 videos i still enjoy every video and look forward to new ones every day.
I think Linus, Luke and the team do such a good job and have such a passion for computers and tech that i would love to see you guys moving forward to produce bigger and better things every day.

In my honest opinion, right before the holidays is a bad time to start asking people for donations... People already have to deal with purchasing large amounts of food to cook for Thanksgiving, and then having to worry about presents for Christmas there after, and now they have to start trying to budget to see if they have enough to help out this channel! Don't take this as me being a dick and not wanting to donate. I love this channel and have a rig built from one of the build guides here, but asking for us to do this in the midst of the most money hungry holidays isn't a great idea. I will try to donate when i can, but it doesn't look promising. Keep up the good work and i wish you good luck wherever you end up.

We will be constantly evaluating perks throughout the campaign but physical rewards are something we are very unlikely to add at this time. Most of the cost of (for example) a $20 hat goes to producing a hat then shipping it...

I understand your position; but if they lower the the minimum donation to the point that anyone and everyone can donate, then, in my opinion, the donations loose their personal value for both parties. Meaning since its only a few dollars you don"t care where the money goes; for LMG they will probably value the donations more if they start at a higher minimum, so your donation should go further.

LinusTechTips I don't even care about some badge that is displayed in the forums, physical items would be cool, but are of course unrealistic at 20$. However, I think adding some options especially some under 10$ (or the ability to set the prize of your donation yourself) would most likely help.

Did they ever release the room liquid cooling videos? I vaguely remember seeing a little bit but am positive we did not get a conclusion. It's been a while too. Also, I tried to find the videos, all I could find was a WAN show that "teased" it.

Linus, I've been watching this channel off and on for probably three years, consistently for probably the past year, and I have to say, it's been really cool watching the channel grow from what it started out as to where it is now. Good luck with the crowdfunding and new office searching! Though, I have to admit, I'm really going to miss videos being done in the kitchen. :)

I have some tips for moving your stuff:
1. Newspaper is your friend, pack delicate things (such as glasses, bottles, non-clothing merchandise) with it.
2.Try to not throw away packaging of your peripherals and computer cases.
3.Don't leave your furniture assembled, it will cost space, and may result in scratches during shipping.
4.Unplug the fridge the day before you are moving, or else you are going to have a very bad time when it arrives.
I hope these tips will help you reduce costs and damage during. Have a nice day.

This channel is for all PC and tech hardware, not for comedy or simple phone review. The marginal cost for this content is simply not the same.

Linus, I've been watching you on years and fully support Linus Media Group for the future! I donated because this channel is not only educational but it's filled with entertainment. Not to mention, when I had a personal issue with a build, Linus private messaged me back within the hour to solve the problem! You have my vote!
I doubt this will get recognition, but I've scrolled through about 100 comments by now, and almost three quarters are saying stuff such as "plunge into your own pockets", "get an advertiser to give you money" etc. I'm gonna focus on these 2 main points.
"Plunge into your own pockets" - the cost of moving to a place that has to be large is monumental. Do you really think that they expect to get ALL the money from this fundraiser? I mean seriously? OF COURSE they are going to be spending a butt-ton of money from their own pocket. You have to be exceptionally challenged mentally to not understand that.
"Get an advertiser to give you money" - Wow. Just seriously, wow. You don't ask someone who is sponsoring you to give you more, that's just silly. They're sponsoring you to show off their product and give you free stuff, not to pay for your company's needs. For this to happen, there'd need to be a serious change in advertisement of one or more specific brand for it to be worth the company shelling out that much money to buy another company a HQ.
They never said "buy it for us peasants", they said "help us reach our goal, so we can, in turn, do more for you." This is a massive plus for us as consumers. They're not asking for 5 figures of money from each person watching, just for some money which may be spare. If people love the content, they'll help the creators.

For all of the people that are bashing this campaign:
1. Most likely you've never contributed financially to LMG, yet you can still enjoy all of their content for free.
2. TH-camrs don't make as much money as you think, even with sponsors, especially when you have to pay a team of 7 people.
3. If every company had as much goodwill from their fan/customer base, none of them would pay for a new office, they would launch a similar campaign.
4. LMG doesn't earn as much as they deserve to since so many people use AdBlock these days.
5. There's no way that they won't reach their goal at this rate, so if you don't choose to or are unable to donate, just be glad that you will get to enjoy all their new content (free as always) for a long time to come =P.
i knew sooner or later this year you guys would move out as the 'office' was getting jam-packed with items all over the place and adding more employee's, congratulations!

This is going to enable better content in return for your investment, so don't say its an investment with no return, you are essentially paying for future, higher quality content.

So as the channels get bigger and bigger we end up with content that is expensive to produce and scripted. Basically TH-cam is becoming like TV. I know Linus wants to increase its content creation and quality but I don't think that's the reason people subscribed to his channel years ago.

So first of all I have to say that I love your videos and I watch you for 3 years now. But I don't understand why you need so much people and so much workspace to produce all that videos. I mean other channels like MKBHD are producing every single video on their own and you need 7 people and even more? Sure, these channels haven't that video output with 1 video a day but I think it isn't necesarry to employ so much people just for a TH-cam channel.
You dont know how to run a channel this big. mkbhd is an amazing dude but he does not release that often also he does phone things woah thats hard to do review a phone... linus tech tips has a video out every day, benchmarkings when new stuff comes in, he has to get the supplies, so he needs to contact people to get them in. i would love to see you do that all by yourself oh dont forget editing and color correction he needs more people. the more he has the more the quality amps up

I am dissapointed at people that throw their negativity around here so let me put it simply. Linus runs a small company he is asking for help from his fans. They have produced high quality content far from webcam and iPhone video reviews. Sure some content may be shallow but some are absolute gold. I guess people just don't understand what hard work is like and how much better the content will be when you guys don't have to work in a cluttered environment and have everyone crammed together in a small bedroom that's hotter than some spas. Watching the campaign video made me laugh and smile, I love the direction this channel is going and what you all have came from and gone through. I've been a fan for a couple of years now and the quality has really gotten better and better. I love when you show us the more technical side of things in the after parties after the WAN show. I also love to hear about you guys trouble shooting things in videos to try to get things to work because in my experience nothing just "works" out of the box, Everything has issues. I consider all of you my friends even though we've never met and probably never will. I wish you all the best of luck and success - It's amazing to watch people grow and channels mature.

I like this channel, and have been subbed for a long time, but the growing trend of these youtuber's asking for money is getting pretty old. If your a business, do what business's do and take out a BUSINESS LOAN.... Stop begging for money from us. We love your content, but seriously, talk to a bank, they can give you wayyyyy more than broke college kids can.
A bank giving them 50,000 means they have to pay it back with interest. On the other hand 50,000 from us means they can focus on moving and making higher quality videos, without having to pay back in cash. If we like the higher quality, then we keep watching which pays his bills.
Besides, crowdfunding allows them to get more than just the 50,000, which the bank would limit to. If everyone who watched the video so far gave a dollar they'd already be at 48k. Check the site tomorrow and see if they've made their goal, or surpassed it.
He also didn't say to expand, he said to speed it up. That means they can settle in faster, they're already in the process of the move as far as I could tell from the video.
Last thing, do a worst case scenario. If Linus managed to piss off all his subscribers and people stopped watching his channel before he got a chance to pay off the bank, then he's finished, along with his entire company and all the employees.
Maybe you should understand how a bank works before you make assumptions.
In about 9 hours they have made over $8,000 that they don't have to pay back. This is a non-traditional business that is looking for alternate sources of revenue to increase their profits. And it's working.
Speaking of begging, I would like to direct you to Patreon if you don't already know about it. Many youtubers are getting rid of ads by going to Patreon and asking for a monthly donation so they can upload videos without dollar shave club and other companies. Jim Sterling is one of the more popular ones, sitting at 8.8k a month on donations. I don't have one, just thought I'd show you what others are doing.

OK, I'll use a metaphor with my life.
I want to become a proper animator. What does this require? A beefy computer, a place where I can actually learn crap for college, books and resources, the lot. I'm just a kid. I really am. Based on how you bash down on Linus, I should go out and do chores, maybe some work on my free time, and actually earn my own shit to fund my own dreams. But maybe you don't realise that I already do that, and Linus probably already has gotten loans, carefully planned the funding for the move, and all the rest of it.
Of course my parents have to spend a lot of money for things that they'll see on the screen, if I ever succeed. What we'll get from this is maybe a slightly better video. Linus won't be able to help himself even a tiny bit with what we'll ever pay him.
But he can get our support, our mind that we're willing to pay even a little bit of money to help him out. My parents are supporting me for the love that I will give them later, and some of the profits I could earn, if I succeed.
Stop hating on Linus with your facts. He's probably already done all that. The least you could do is give him that $1 for him to smile at the fact that people are donating what little they can. He wants your support, not your money.
