I recently visited King Spa in Virginia in March, as a treat to myself for my Birthday. I spent the better part of a day at the spa, relaxing and pampering myself. When I arrived, I was familiar with the setup, having visited another similar spa in the area some years ago.
I purchased my entry pass from Groupon, which was right up my alley. I love a good deal. The entry pass does not cover the cost of any treatments (massages, facials, scrubs or steams) or food. You will be given a wristband, that has the key to your lockers, and that will be used to track what you get. They will scan you out at the end of your visit and you pay at that time.
Familiarize yourself with the rules of the house before going, there are a few. They do a very good job of making it a relaxing environment, with many spaces to do so. I had such a great time going solo, I went back a month later, solo. I plan to return again, maybe with company at some point.
They have indoor and outdoor pools, multiple saunas over two levels, professionals assisting with massages and facials, a delicious menu to choose from. There are many areas inside to just sit, relax and take it in. There are some outdoor areas to sit and take a moment to breathe.
