IU has already solidified herself and her surroundings by breaking a lot of eggs. After staying in her eyes on herself and her surroundings as much as she has achieved maturity, she finally tries to break another egg and look at a wider and deeper place. As a fan who loves her, I'm just rooting for her move forward.

IU 🛒 The things I put in my cart as a shopper are the emotions and moments I encountered during the performance of ‘The Golden Hour: Under the Orange Sun’ in 2022. At that performance, I strongly felt desires of determination that were somewhat unfamiliar to me.
Those two days of performance while I was feeling a bit burnt out at work completely turned the theme and atmosphere of the album I was preparing in advance, as well as my energy towards it. I wanted to leave the easy and comfortable things behind for a while and challenge myself once again. It was the audience on that hot night that helped me clear my mind as I was circling the same spot and putting off finishing the album day after day, unable to admit that I was burnt out.
The voices of tens of thousands of people entered me as clearly as one person's voice and awakened new desires. As a result, I put the courage and courage I felt into this song. This time, I hope that my voice will give those who listen to this song ‘the courage to be confident in what they want.’

During the concert, I experienced a strong feeling of desire for ambitions that were somewhat unfamiliar to me. The two-day concert, which I put on while being in a slightly burnout state at work, completely turned upside down the theme and vibe of this album, which I had been preparing in advance, as well as my energy while working on it. Temporarily putting behind me what was easy and comfortable, I wanted to challenge myself by pouring (t/n: everything I had into it) once again. It was the audience of that hot night that made everything clear in my mind, when I was delaying the completion of my album by circling around the same spot without acknowledging that I was burnt out.
The sound of tens of thousands of people entering (t/n: my soul) clearly, like the voice of one person, awakened fresh ambitions in me. I crammed the courage and overwhelming emotions I experienced back then into this song. This time, I hope my voice will give listeners of this song ‘the courage to be confident about what you want’
In beginning of video, reference that there is no limit to the number of items in the store, and the store never closes…which I think is to say that everyone can chase their dreams and find their items in the store

I'm really enjoying the quality, creativity, and themes of these thought-provoking music videos, and, as usual I greatly appreciate your thoughts and insights. When IU used the bat to send the confetti flying, for me it was reminiscent of the dandelion seeds she released in Hollis, inviting everyone to follow her to search for their dreams, desires and ambitions. I wonder if the action of her sending the confetti flying was meant to represent inviting the shoppers to again follow her lead and be comfortable seeking out their own ambitions and dreams?
i'm imagining the many 'items' she is using in this mini album will make more (amazing) sense in her upcoming concert. love how you're finding the hidden messages! can't wait to see how she's going to weave an amazing narrative through her song setlist!
This is a genius collaboration of I.U and DPR Ian. DPR Ian is the Director, editor and colourist of the MV, and he also stars in it. He did the narration at the start and did the intro’ music. The video :- (I.U) Shopper - A Business trip to the United States with bro, is a must see about the making of the MV. There are many nods to the DPR Ian Universe in the MV as well. His music is well worth checking out.
I loved how you pick up on so many things like the references to the Golden hour, chat-shire, and palette.
Also IU mentions 7PM in the lyrics the time when the concert started. IU mention in an interview that the children nowadays think about practical matters when thinking about jobs. And how sometime we change our answer to questions about our ambitions not to sound silly
When she was younger she said she wanted to be something different every day, and how children should have the privilege to dream what ever they desire.
Mabye the sea anemone could be the item for Ueana as she holds it out to the camera at the end.
I see from SeannaTV that the Korean words for greed and ambition are the same word - depends on context.

According to Seanna TV reactors, the thing IU hit is called pinata 🪅, party items associated with Mexican made of paper mache which you hit to release 🍬🍭. The pinata that IU hit looked like a jellyfish when hit releasing confetti & streamers 🎊.

You're right about the greed and ambition thing because 욕심 (not sure if I'm spelling that right) in Korean means both greed and ambition depending on the context sort of. If you watch her interview video she put out yesterday for the album she talks a lot about these things and gives insight into what this song is about. So you should check that out too. And as for my own interpretation of some of the things in the video that she didn't talk about, I think that the video is full of subtle movie references. The biggest one to me is that the fireworks stand totally reminds me of the one in Joe Dirt. The map obviously, as you said, looks like the marauder's map from Harry Potter as well as referencing chat-shire. The bike they leave with at the fireworks stand reminds me of a green version of Pee Wee's bike in Pee Wee's Big Adventure. I'm sure there's a ton of other's in the video too that I can't think of ATM, but I'll leave the rest up to everyone else. Don't want to spoil the fun.
I also thought about the rightful owner thing, for the mid credit scene with DPR Ian. From other comments on videos I learned that it also is a little Easter Egg for HIS lore. Turning a dark twist to the mysticism, but IU snatching it back, keeping it bright and fun and hopeful.
the fact she got the magical DPR IAN to direct this 😍 oh this mv is stunning. i am not sure this song is my favorite, i think i need to hear it without the mv. But she goes in many different ways with this album. do they fit together? is there a theme? or is she just going in different ways for each song.
