This was so amazing, it's the first proper interview I've seen of Mr. Rădulescu and it lived up to everything I was expecting from the man behind David Popovici. There's so much to learn from this podcast- even for someone like me, who isn't actually involved in swimming. It just inspires you to live a good life and to do well whatever it is that you are doing. It is such a miracle that so many things went right for David and his career: an exceptionally gifted boy, born into an exceptionally supportive family and guided by an equally exceptional coach. Man, Romania couldn't have asked for better ambassadors. They are a credit to our country, really. And as always, thank you, Brett, your interviews are the best and this was a particularly great one!
After a hard pool session....a podcast with the creator of the skinny legend while stretching...what a great day...thank you so much for your great work mate!
i was yesterday in the swimming pool talking with a swimmer of my time long ago, i remenber the coach of their team , he was a perfecionist of style, all his swimmers swam very well, in my case my coach never had the time to correct the way i swam, i only swam well butterfly even now i swim quite well and i am almost 50, i always think i needed somebody to correct my mistakes swimming... a coach is very important...i love this channel, marvellous people, people with feet on the floor, the opposite of selfish people , i think swimming makes you better person, i love swimming, i live near de coast, swimming in the sea is something magical....today i go to the swimming pool 3 times a week 2000 meters each day... makes you feel better...
Sunteți omul potrivit la locul potrivit, lucrați cu știință și iubire, David este un norocos, împreună faceți un tot "veritabil" ! Felicitări oameni frumoși și talentați!
Nice to hear about the chemistry inbetween coach and pupil. Beautiful work. There is not just one way which is working in training and coaching which leads to success. This one really does work for this team. Making contact, communicate two ways and let pupils involve in their own proces, is what I hear. I like that very much. This is maybe the reason why David is so mature in his own interview. He is not a sportingpuppet, but an owner of his own swimming process together with his team. Very humble and inspiring.
For someone who claims not to prepare for podcasts, this one was wonderful! Nice flow, great questions, and a fabulous subject. Thank you, Brett! Great job.
Probably the best and most interesting podcast you've done so far. Adrian brings such thought and purpose to training, and you can see how he mirrors David Popovici. Funnily enough, the other podcast I also found fascinating was the Alex Popov one, because his approach was so different at the time. Brilliant stuff Brett!
Such a joy to listen and learn from the smart people. I am just fascinated by the knowledge and life wise shared. Looking forward to the next interview with Adrian, after Paris 2024 :)
Absolutely brilliant! This episode is among the best ones alongside with Mel Marshall, Rocco Meiring, Dean Boxall and others... thanks a lot for the work, it's very appreciated
HUGE THANK YOU for this Brett! Amazing guy and smart questions as always! Loved every second of it! Wish for a part 2… Multumim Adrian! Esti minunat ca om, coach, din toate unghiurile posibile! Multumim! Chapeau!
How did an hour and 26 minutes passed so quickly. Time for a podcast, right? A lengthy one. Thank you, Brett! Awesome „inside”! And A.D. was so precious to hear, I can say he is living in the moment, thinking big, wanting to be his best version of himself. Well done!
I'm so happy to see that David recognizes Adrian's contribution for what it is. They both gave their best and that's how they ended up here. I hope together they'll take this journey to its conclusion and not break apart when things get tough and the inevitable decline shows up, but adapt their races instead. We expect to see the 100/200m freestyle grand finale (peak) in Paris, please make the most out of it and show up during races with big smiles on your faces, you both (and his parents) deserve it.
I've been waiting for this one. Thank you! Great episode! P.S. You want to have dinner with him? I'm patiently waiting since 2019, so please... 😀 Also, Adi, if you read this, I'm starving...😄
To think 🇷🇴 Romania is not far from Ukraine 🇺🇦 it is sad that one country can celebrate a great athlete and the other has to fight a war it’s just fucked . Thanks Brett from an older man who just loves swimming your interviews are world class
Great interview! A quick question. Last June in a live show with SwimNerd you mentioned a type of DNA kit that focuses more on health and athletic attributes associated with your genetics (I.e., food and mineral allergies/deficiencies, or % of fast twitch fibers I may have). Do you remember the company and specific name of the test? I apologize for straying from topic but I can’t find where it was covered. Was on in middle June. Thanks
I think he is taking all legal supplements up to the steroids barrier...his mum is a supplements substance officer or something like that...so they are definitely extracting the most from diet and supplements. I am not sure if creatine is allowed in swimming.
No way! Im from Argentina, and popovici's coach said that he like football, and marcelo bielsa???? So marcelo bielsa that he is Argentina, is one step to wr from David? Im crazy, i know

Wow, same here! I couldn't have said it better!
Amen! ❤
Davids best trained muscle is his brain.... mind-blowing to see as a mathematician
Fantastic to see a swimmer stay with their original coach all the way from a beginner swimmer right up to the highest elite level.
Adrian Rădulescu gave only a few interviews, and I have not yet heard him speak in English. An absolute first!
his english is excellent
They (David and Adrian) make me proud to be Romanian.
God bless them!
Brett, thank you so much for this excellent interview!

I was just looking for an interview from him!! 😍😍

Seems the writting is on the wall that David Popovici will be the first to break the 1.40 barrier for 200m free.
Is David on any supplements, protein powder after training, creatine?
I think he is taking all legal supplements up to the steroids barrier...his mum is a supplements substance officer or something like that...so they are definitely extracting the most from diet and supplements. I am not sure if creatine is allowed in swimming.
