I bought mine to play music in my woodshop. Works great, I can hear it over my power tools, and when it gets dusty, I just hit it with the garden hose.
I returned a large JBL Charge 4 system to get this exact speaker in this review and what a pleasant exchange. The JBL was great on bass but high frequencies were muffled and midrange didn't exist. This FLARE + is the best little speaker I've found yet. I compared MegaBASS Booster, Sony's and even Bose and by far this is the best let alone the money was amazing. a 100 bucks for great performance with nice violins on my classical music and the french horns come right through in a midrange from somewhere and the bass with BASS UP mode is WOW! Tympani's without Bass Up sound just like tympani's. Anker, ya Wow'd me !! Want a full review? Just let me know.
@@dawari69 in my opinion definite the Soundcore Flare+. Much smaller and not only great high and lows (the latter of which the JBL was great for only) but also a nice comfy clear midrange, which literally gives one a feeling of a 3-Way. I don't know how they do it but alas it's pretty awesome. Good price too and very very portable unlike the JBL.
Indeed, no bad speakers but the lighting effects are a little bit needless in my opinion. Can you compare these speakers to the 360° BTS30 from Tribit? This brand is also very interesting I think. btw thanks for the video :)
Thanks for watching! I’ll do my best to get a unit in to review properly, but my schedule is pretty packed at the moment! I had a chance to play with an X-Boom recently though and it’s not bad. Perhaps a little bass heavy though, the Flare+ is better balanced and has a richer tone. I do have a different model Tribit speaker coming on the channel soon though!
Thank you! I really like the design and portability of the XB-31, but I was a little disappointed in it. It’s a downgrade from the XB-30 in terms of audio quality. Compared to the Flare+, the sound signature is quite bass heavy, which overpowers some of the other frequencies, so the Flare+ is more well balanced. I prefer the design and LED lights on the XB-31 though... Have a look at the prices and see which is on offer. I think for sound you want the Flare+ and for design and portability you want the XB-31.
Now that portable wireless speakers are getting bigger batteries they need to start including USB-C for faster charging speeds. Even mid range phones moved from micro USB years ago.
i just got soundcore flare mini for £50 and it has very good sound quality so it might be better value to buy 2 flare minis and connect them in stero than to buy 1 flare plus. but the flare mini doesn't work with the app as of now.
USB type c needs to be more prominent and type b needs to be discontinued quicker 😁My favourite speaker is my Panasonic sc rs52 and the one I won here from you by Doss 👍
We're getting there...slowly! Just need more companies to force the change to speed up the process. Whilst we're stuck in between that's no good for anyone, because at the moment you have to hang onto to both types of cable 'just in case'. Glad you're still enjoying the SoundBox! I might have to check out the SC-RS52...

On the fence, about to buy both speakers, I'm most impressed by the flare+ from Anker, most worried about, not being compatible with other devices, the the Bluetooth 4, the lack of usb-c, and the weight, is there something better on the horizon? Max 100$ has to have the light show, big battery... I eventually want to mount at least 2 speakers on my backpack, especially with skateboarding in mind
I'd say the JBL charge 3 is the closest thing on the market that matches your criteria - but getting it for under $100 might be a challenge. In terms of weight, the Flare Mini would be a better choice - especially if you're putting two on a backpack!
It is not compatible with other speakers period. If you buy Anker, you will have to stick with it for life because the moment you combine this, you will have an echo effect
It’s a tough one. Anker have the advantage with bluetooth 5 and battery life (Even though both are supposed to be 20 hours) and the LED lights. JBL have USB-C charging and a more portable design. I think you should have a look at the prices and go for the one you like the design of more. I think they’re close enough in terms of sound quality that you should prioritise aesthetic here.
I'm using the app. When I put it on custom mode my bass drops substantially even on max. I downloaded the update and still the same result. It is a GREAT speaker. Worth the money but has anyone else experienced this same problem and how to fix it?
It's possible that Anker (Soundcore) would release an official update - but no guarantee. It depends if this is a widespread problem or not. See what they say and they will be able to guide you best
If by “permanent” you mean that you can use it whilst it’s charging, then yes. I’ve made a full review on the Motion+ so perhaps that will be helpful for you to watch!
To make your comment tangible for future buyers. Just yes or no. If they want to buy a speaker to complement their other speakers even through aux cable connection, they should not buy Anker? Second, if they buy and Anker and plan to add another brand speaker later on, they can only connect Anker to this, even using aux cable. Because of the sound lag, you cannot connect this to another speaker? Just yes or no.
The Flare+ has the LED effects, Bluetooth 5 and better battery life, but JBL has multi device pairing, Connect plus and more colour choices. I prefer JBL’s design, but I think the Flare+ probably offers better value for money - but it depends how cheaply you can get that Flip 4 for!
Honestly it really depends on how much you want stereo separation. If you do, 2 x Flare would be a great option for the price. But if you will only use it occasionally, get a Flare + since it is a better speaker. If I had to recommend one or the other, i'd probably say go for 2 x Flare (I saw these at the same price as 1 x Flare+, so at this price it's worth it to get 2 Flare speakers)
Anker Soundcore Flare has a serious split-second lag when you combine this with other speakers. So if you are planning to combine this with another brand speaker, DON'T. And if this is your first speaker, you will forever be playing this with another Anker speaker. The sound lag sounds a lot like an echo. So if you are listening to fast music, you can literally hear two drumbeats .
The Flare isn’t designed to pair with other brand speakers (almost no speakers are). I don’t think you could successfully combine audio with other brand speakers in general, so I don’t think this is a reason not to buy a Flare.
@@insidetechltd i disagree. You can buy a JBL Charge 3 and pair this with a Tronsmart T6 Plus upgraded using an aux cable and it works fine But you cannot do this with an Anker Flare. THE REASON IS THAT IS HAS A SOUND DELAY. The output on your other speakers does not sync with am Anker Flare. The delay is almost a split second. Sure buy it if you want to have it play solo or with other Anker speakers. But if you want to link this with ANY speakers using an aux cable? FORGET IT
@@insidetechltd what do you mean no speakers are designed to be paired with other speakers? EVEN THROUGH AUX CABLE? Of course not. Anker Flare will play you an echo of your music or the movie you are watching. Just read some more reviews
I don't think I can be any clearer than I already have been. The speakers are not designed for that. Whether you can get this to work on other speakers is beside the point. I just think that people may infer from your description that the Flare+ is not performing a function it should be - and this isn't the case at all. It is neither an advertised nor common feature to have. So i'm simply making a clarification to my viewers. If the speaker doesn't meet your expectations though, i'm sorry to hear that. Thanks for sharing your view
@@insidetechltd no. because you are not addressing the product concern. But then again, understand your position of being a PR arm of this. Just wanted to air out the downside of this because some people actually buy this as a compliment for other speakers using aux cable.
The sound lag from Bluetooth and or aux is horrible and Sound doesn’t travel very far but up close sounds great with bass boost It’s definitely not lacking in any other department and ultimately the sound quality is pure even without bass booster just not as powerful as I expected.
@@nealtieng2935 I think I figured it out. While there is no fix for the lag using Bluetooth I found that while using auxiliary make sure the speaker is not connected to Bluetooth as well. being that it can connect to both at once for some reason it does not recognize axillary over Bluetooth and treats the signal the same
