    Why do we require fully automatic robot?
    It is because knee replacement or hip replacement is a completely precision-based surgery
    That means it depends completely on accuracy
    It is not dependent on the best implant or any other such things
    It is about accuracy. It is mechanical engineering
    It involves the restoration of biomechanics
    That is why we require the robotic arm and navigation
    Let me explain the basic problem in knee arthritis to you
    This is our knee, and this is how the knee is structured
    The cushioned surface between these two bones
    gradually undergoes wear and tear
    As car wheels wear out as the car runs on the road
    this surface wears out in a similar manner
    What should look like this, gradually undergoes wear and tear
    When bones rub against each other because of this, it develops to crookedness
    which leads to pain and disbalance
    As ligaments and cartilages wear out, it leads to disbalance
    Disbalance means instability, which brings the risk of falling down
    That is the biggest problem
    The risks of falling down, instability and disbalance are bigger problems than pain
    There is always a big risk of the fracture of neck femur if a person falls down
    We require knee replacement in such a condition when there is crookedness in the knee
    which leads to disbalance in the gait
    We replace the worn out surface with a new surface in knee replacement
    like this

    It is called knee replacement which is actually knee resurfacing
    It is a kind of resurfacing surgery in which worn out surface is replaced
    Restoration of alignment is done too
    Knee arthritis causes crookedness in the legs which should be straight otherwise
    We make them straight again through this surgery
    Knee replacement is both resurfacing and realignment
    The placement of the implant in this should be at 90° to the mechanical axis
    Computer-assisted surgery or robotic-assisted surgery
    keeps the biomechanic precision, such as the sizing of the implant, balancing
    much better
    We used to do computer-assisted surgery before, with Orthopilot navigation system
    which is an excellent navigation system
    Robotic-assisted surgery is a further extension of this navigation system
    Even robotic surgery is based on navigation
    We do this surgery today with the help of the Cuvis robot
    Cuvis robot is a fully automatic robot
    which makes the placement of the implant and its balancing in a much better way
    We prepare a simulation before the actual operation
    With the help of a virtual surgery we first check which size implant to fit
    how to do it, where to place the implant
    We check all these before the operation
    We call this simulation or virtual surgery
    We plan it out before the operation
    We know the exact plan of the operation
    This robot has two parts. This is the console
    and this is the robotic arm
    First we plan it on the console, and then we carry out the operation with the robotic arm
    This robotic arm is highly flexible
    This is the robotic bone-cutter which does the operation
    We can do both knee replacement and hip replacement surgeries
    This is the Cuvis robotic arm for the knee replacement surgery
    for high quality knee replacement
    The process becomes very easy with this
    This is the console, and this is the robotic arm for bone milling
    and it helps us in knee replacement
    It moves in multiple directions which improves accuracy
    The accuracy is much better than manual surgery
    Use of robotic arm for knee replacement
    makes it a much safer process too
    To make these surgeries more comfortable
    we use another new implant called
