আমার ছেলে প্রিন্সটন ইউনিভার্সিটিতে ৯০% স্কলারশিপ নিয়ে পদার্থ বিজ্ঞানে আন্ডারগ্রাডে পড়েছে। এ বছর খুব ভালো রেজাল্ট এবং শ্রেষ্ঠ থিসিস পেপার এবং দুইটা রিসার্চ পেপারের জন্য মোট ৩ টা এয়োয়ার্ড নিয়ে গ্রাজুয়েশন শেষ করলো।এখন MIT তে পদার্থবিজ্ঞানে পি এইচ ডি করতে চলে গেছে। সে বাংলা মিডিয়ামের ছাত্র ছিল। কিন্তু সে ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফিজিক্স অলেম্পিয়াডে বাংলাদেশ থেকে প্রথম রূপা পেয়েছিল এবং স্যাটে খুব ভালো করেছিল। রেজাল্ট ৬ টা ধাপের একটা ধাপ। তাই রেজাল্টের পিছনে শুধু না দৌড়ে পাশাপাশি এক্সটা কারিকুলামে মনোযোগ দিতে হবে।

Asides study Co curricular activities are also important, but sadly in our country most of the schools don't encourage students to do club activities. It has become a stereotype that good academic results are one and only way to have a prosperous career.
Our schools/colleges have least concern in grading students individually. We go through a central exam (board exams). So its less likely our admission system will ever change (if we dont change how we grade our students first). Also its more challenging to clear admission exams in BD(academically). But most students are unaware of the process or dont have the *generational wealth* to go abroad.

Sir, plz come to Dhaka College and talk about it. It was once the greatest college in the nation, but now-a-days it’s lagging behind. Though it has stood first in the HSC exam in Dhaka board in the last three years consecutively, the students here are getting deprived of many things. I have been a student of the college. Some teachers do the job of writing recommendation letters, they try their best, but surely need some proper training on it. Plz try to contact the college. It’s needed for my juniors there. (Btw I am Shadman. An HSC candidate this year. Have won some national and international olympiads and many more cultural contests nationally throughout my school days, but still am under-confident hesitant to go abroad to the best universities in the world. I know I have the potential for many more other reasons also, but I just am confused about the process. Have listened to many podcasts about it, even interviews of the students who got in still feels like what if I can't succeed finally. Don't know what will happen in my life. Sir, plz come to Dhaka College and talk about it. It was once the greatest college in the nation, but now-a-days it’s lagging behind. Though it has stood first in the HSC exam in Dhaka board in the last three years consecutively, the students here are getting deprived of many things. I have been a student of the college. Some teachers do the job of writing recommendation letters, they try their best, but surely need some proper training on it. Plz try to contact the college. It’s needed for my juniors there.
(Btw I am Shadman. An HSC candidate this year. Have won some national and international olympiads and many more cultural contests nationally throughout my school days, but still am under-confident hesitant to go abroad to the best universities in the world. I know I have the potential for many more other reasons also, but I just am confused about the process. Have listened to many podcasts about it, even interviews of the students who got in still feels like what if I can't succeed finally. Don't know what will happen in my life. But it was a nice podcast to listen. Thank you for that.... 💙)
