    Thank you! This is so easy to follow and makes sense. I bought a house with so many lupins and they are starting to look very messy. Also, your accent is very charming

    Thank you! I am from the states, but my mum was from NW England. Today is mother's day and in remembrance of her, I bought a pale yellow lupine. I'm saving,your tutorial for future reference! 💛

      Aw, that’s beautiful! I also bought two new lupins two months ago - a purple and a dark red one. The bloom stocks are already forming and I can’t wait for them to finally bloom. Good luck with your pale yellow lupine. Sounds stunning!

    Good to know. Thanks. I'm in Nova Scotia and they grow wild here and it's one of the few things deer leave alone. I'm growing my Lupin for the first time in a pot. Glad to know I can extend the blooming time.

      In some countries like Iceland they’ve even become invasive and have pushed back a lot of the native plants. They aren’t as common in Germany, where I currently live. I’ve had a lot of luck growing lupins in pots. Wishing you a lot of luck and joy with your lupine :)

    Hi I'm new to looking after plants and plan to make the most of my garden this year. I've watched some of your videos so feeling confident with what I need to do, just 1 question. At the end of summer when all the blooms have bloomed 😊 do I cut the lupines down to the soil? Or do I leave them? I'm sorry if you have explained this elsewhere, I couldn't find it. Thanks

    • @GardeningwithTill
      @GardeningwithTill  ปีที่แล้ว

      Fantastic to hear that you feel confident about gardening. It's great to have a beautiful garden where you can putter. I do not cut them back to the soil, because I really enjoy the structure and texture of the leaves. Good luck!

    • @ct5625
      @ct5625 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I leave mine to do their own thing but I do try to work out when it's the last flower stem in August (when I can't see any new buds forming) so they can go to seed, then when the seed pods are brown and more crispy I collect them for planting next spring and give some to friends/family. They're very easy to propagate and you can get a hundred seeds from one flower stem. You could even just drop those seeds on some soil in Autumn and some of them will probably pop up in spring depending on where you are and how harsh your winter might be.

    Hello! Great video thank you. My lupin had 5 amazing flowers and now they are fading but I can’t see any new buds at all. The leaves seems to be wilting too...any tips would be appreciated 🙂 thank you

    • @GardeningwithTill
      @GardeningwithTill  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! :) Just have a bit of patience. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for new buds to form. A bit of fertilising may help as well. Sometimes this encourages foliage growth, but in the blooming season also bloom production :)

      Thanks for your question. This is a little bit out of my area of expertise. However, several varieties of lupines are toxic to animals. So be careful.

    Ist es bei Lupinen auch so dass nur die ersten Blüten riesengroß sind, und die darauffolgenden immer kleiner werden? Ich hatte letztes Jahr Zwergsonnenblumen, und leider war das bei denen der Fall. Ich würde mich über eine Antwort sehr freuen , es würde mir bei meiner Planung helfen.

    • @GardeningwithTill

      @@GardeningwithTill Ja, sie schauen echt schön aus, sicherlich auch wenn sie kleiner sind. Ich werd mich aber wahrscheinlich doch nicht auf die Lupinen- Blütenpracht allein verlassen, und noch zwei Töpfe mit anderen Blumen daneben hinstellen. Ich hab nur wenig Raum und will diesen Sommer das Meiste da raus holen blütenmäßig. 😄 Danke, du hast mir sehr geholfen mit der Info und deinen Videos!
