This is absolutely fantastic! Automated shipping was the main thing I felt was missing in the other ultimate bases, and here you are bringing it in full force :D
This is where the most important mod in the game would come into play. A solid filter that has multi-select. So instead of having to build 10 filters just to get things moving, you put down one filter and it shuffles things properly. With this mod, an ACTUAL automation rail going around the base (maybe even two loops just for performance) is possible and mostly necessary.
I was shouting to the screen "There is the place for the filter! You build it out!" You put it one block up... Then put it back the exact same place where the railing were... Sometimes I just don't understand you :D But love your videos and learnt from them so much =)
Your sand overflow isn't going to work, it only appeared to work because there were already backed up packets of sand. When it's empty the conveyor will drive the sand there through the filter but it will prioritise taking the bridge out onto overflow instead of carrying on to the drop point. Also, please move the filter one tile right so it doesn't take up the firepole's spot, or every time a dupe goes down it'll have to stop and get back onto the pole and it'll drive me nuts (aswell as wasting valuable time) lol. I like the auto pol. O2 into ceramic machine, probly gonna nick that if you don't mind lol. Edit because grammar
This base is getting more and more ultimate I wouldn’t be surprised Nathan would manage to fill ever tile outside of the base with solidified oxygen soon…. And wallpaper of course!
This has become a part of my breakfast.. A daily update is a feat itself. Nonetheless Nathan if you feel like to slow down anytime, no judgement from me :), after all enjoyment is maybe the ultimate goal of this game... Love this channel!
Nathan you can put a pneumatic door locked insted of ladders on top of the automatic dispensers, then all materials will fall over, but the dups will never go in the water
Also with the sand dispenser you could use the filter gate after the vent for like 5s so that it can empty the line so you dont have sand stuck there. But you made need to set it up to only send a green signal for x seconds to send just enough sand
16:26 actually I am curious why the “research module” needs to be built outside of the base. Is it to save space? Is it because it is convenient to bring data banks there? Is it to keep the radiation of the wheeze worts out?
Suggestions on mod collections from the workshop for a returning player? Also whats with the wall paper is it just to look good :-) Great videos Nathan!
Man, looking at these solid filters hurts :D Just put it vertically right next to firepole with one side output instead of horizontaly with x confusing bridges all around :D As for permanent storage, the displacement hurts my ocd. I would just close off whole thing for traveling with only 1 gap for them to pick up items, remove autodispensers and make input conveyor loader straight to "dump" conveyor belt line (that can be used anywhere on planetoid btw, so just build bunch of them) that dumps everything in chute inside that storage. Also, if ya gonna make bunch of loaders near storage, i would bring ribbon closer, so you dont have to make wire spagheti all the way from ladder. Btw, tempshift plate in the storage helps too.
By the way, forgot to mention, that i am very pleased that you finaly remembered, that this game is about automation, therefore here, have some deserved like :D
With the sand setup you could have used a less power-hungry filler. Item senor and shut off. It wouldn't back up because you have a way to it to never stops. 10w instead of 120w.
i gave up waiting for the chlorine to get to 2kg/tile and decided it would be better to use 6 gas reservoirs. 336x tiles for the storage came out to needing 4.48 reservoirs per chamber. 48% of 150kg tank is 72kg. minus the 1kg that waits at the tanks' outputs you end up with 150+1, 150+1, 150+1, 150+1, 67+1. such a pain snipping the duct work so many times with siphon off the 1kg that waits at the Input of each full tank, and the 200g and 500g packets...but it turned out to be less of a pain than waiting forever for "emitting chlroine at 12g/s" to fill up such a large area.....twice
Why u used a solid filter when u want the overflow mechanism , just use sensors. Their drawback of failing on overflow system just become the lifesaver
The conveyor belt filter system started looking ugly and unnecessarily complicated. Couldn't you put the filter vertical, still have a bridge from the centre to the right, but then continue the conveyor from the centre straight south?
im guessing the answer is no, but is there any friggin way to make the dupes complete the task they are currently engaged in when the fuckin dinner bell rings????? its driving me nuts
@@Nathans-Sandbox apparently theres a mod called finish up that does that, but the update today seems to have them go back to work at end of downtime, if theyve pooped an ate, instead of just talking. may lead to them missing bedtime. dunno
Thank you for showing your thought process, reconstruction and all, not just the final builds - it adds a lot.
👍
This is absolutely fantastic! Automated shipping was the main thing I felt was missing in the other ultimate bases, and here you are bringing it in full force :D
You should also empty your sweepy automatily, the rail is next to him
I was thinking about that too, get stuff into the main line back to the main storage.
👍
"Goodbye, see you in the magma!" hauhauah
Nathan: "goodbye, see you in the magma"
Duplicants: Bet there won't be any left
😆 You can use the magma so much.
Watching through this entire playthrough just now. Really enjoy your editing and play style! Thank you for doing this playthrough!
Also, you gotta make some "But watcha gonna do?" shirts, stickers, coffee cups, etc!
Cheers, glad you're enjoying the content;)
Love this series. So many brilliant designs and with only 7 dupes. Keep up the good work!
I think the solid filter could fit vertically as well and would look cleaner.
Yeah the filtered item would just go to the right and then the non filtered items just continue down
This was incredible.
I’ve never used automation ribbons (because I was scared of them) but a nice clear use for them here.
Thanks Nathan

Definitely my favorite episode yet!!
IT'S ALIVE!!! =O
Love this series, very hyped for more space exploration!
Your happiness is our happiness. So much to learn lolz
This is just a preview of the madness that's gonna ensue and I cannot wait!
And we still haven't even left the home planet yet!
never seen such complicated thing in my entire life, you are realy cleaver! Nice vid :D

Glad you like it!;)
Ahhhh love the absolute excitement in this episode and i laughed so hard during it
You can put the oxygen in a air storage think and put chlorine to clean it from the germs and then you can put it in your actual base.
Isn't it very hot like a few hundred degrees hot ?
@@someonenameddust1376 I think he can cool it.
@@Mr_Papo Yeah he can without any issue but it's maybe good to keep in mind that he dont want to many aquatuners for now

7:39 is when the layout starts for the set up.
you might be able to rotate the (sand) material filter 90 degrees clockwise and save a couple pieces of rail?

Wallpaper gives decor, hides pipes and cables and uses only 5kg of material. Also comes in many colors.

Awesome system!
Did they change the dispensers to actually need power? Last time I played, they just dropped slower if it was unplugged
Yes I briefly forgot about that! Didn't power the previous ones either.
Loving daily episodes
👍
those dispensers dont need power. They work without
Love the videos. Thanks for the great ideas.

powering Automatic Dispenser? WAT?!
I thought the whole point of ribbon cables was to go over regular automation cables without a bunch of bridges?
The whole point of the is to combine up to 4 signals and only use 1 tile for all signals instead of 4 separate cables.
