There are no words I can use to express my admiration for Genie Francis in this scene. To be that good, to have the presence of mind to live so deeply in that moment, and make it seem SO real, and to make it seem so effortless to perform it is astounding. Nothing more needs to be said. And thanks to Tony Geary as well for restraining himself, playing to the quiet moments and making Luke's reactions so natural and gut wrenching. Will never be the likes of again.
Yes I always thought Genie should have gotten an Emmy nomination for this. If they had the younger actress category then she might have at least been nominated. I remember watching this episode when it aired. It was amazing.
I think the reason it seems effortless is because Genie has innate ability that comes like breathing, where she has to tap into it, sure, but the ability is something you can't work at, it has to be there already, at least that's what I believe:)
I watched General Hospital from 1979 to 1983. The only reason I watched it was because of the Luke and Laura storyline. When they left the show I stopped watching and never went back to it. When I saw these 40 year old recordings of Luke and Laura I was so happy. I've been watching them in order as often as I can. They bring back such wonderful memories for me. My children were babies then. I never thought I would be able to experience this again. So, thank you so much sussesq for going to all the trouble of pulling out just the L and L scenes from each episode and posting them in order. You have a made an old woman happy. I prefer to believe that Tony Geary is still 33 and Genie Francis is still 20 , and they will remain so for me, thanks to you.

I did see a couple of episodes later on here on the computer & I hate what they did to Luke & Laura. Turning Luke into a drunk who cheated on Laura at least 3 times that I know of constantly taking off on his family hating that she had Nikolas with Stavros even though he did the same thing having Ethan with Holly. Then to fix Luke up with Tracy-UGH! This Luke above NEVER would have done those things & I hated how it all ended. They really destroyed a top #1 soap. Why couldn't they keep this same Luke & Laura together.....I did as you did I quit watching GH when they left the show so did I. That Robert was one handsome man too & Slick was so funny!
They destroyed Luke & Laura! I watched GH every time they were both together on the show but when one was gone i stopped & when they put Luke together with Felicia I stopped watching anymore! @@sandyRndisco1 did you see the 1984 playlist when they lived in Texas and Luke got in trouble in Mexico. TG was so hot in those. He had a tan and a beard and he was in good shape. There weren’t very many of them. I wasn’t a long story line, but the very last few episodes is when Laura tells Luke that she’s pregnant. Their chemistry was still out of this world. Robert Scorpio and his wife, Holly were in those clips as well. I watched that and then after that I stopped watching it. I know they came back and 93 but my son was three years old, and I just didn’t have the time, but I am very glad that I stopped because I’ve seen so many comments about how things went later on down the road which are horrible to me so to me they are still young and in love. I really enjoyed when Laura returned and 83 that was so exciting. I’m so happy to whoever put these on here so that we can relive these memories and watch these truly awesome actors and feel young again. Oh, boy! This is not the first time I’ve seen this clip and, thanks to Sussezq, it will not be the last. To think we could regularly expect to see acting like this on daytime back in our time…no wonder we watched every day! We were so lucky to be part of an era when two people with this level of chemistry and talent could produce work like this for several hours a week! People get Oscars for scenes like this in 90 minute movies and Genie Francis and Tony Geary did this day in and day out for decades…wow! I am in my sixties and some of the best acting I’ve ever seen was on GH in the 80’s and 90’s. Hats off to these two - and to Sussezq - because of you, other generations can see this…the whole arc of the stories…and can appreciate acting and writing at its finest.
This is the Luke & Laura that should still be with us. There is no way that Luke should ever be able to love someone as much as he did Laura. I will always say the writers destroyed their love.
One of the many times she should have won an Emmy. I just don't get it either, she was robbed.. I believe that TG deserved every single one he received. That year he won, and she should have one right along with him . It's insane.
PS there were a lot of scenes in which GF should have won. GF is a fantastic actress. To bad the writers did not think so... either that OR they just don’t... Hello. Love. Rosie

The reason why Genie didn’t win an Emmy during this time period was she was too young to be nominated. She would have fallen into the younger actor category but they didn’t have that category at this time. In fact, the reason why the younger actor and actress category exists is due to Genie’s performances like this. This performance would have won younger actress category by far!!!
She's like NO other period! I told her once a quote I amended regarding her & Laura & she hugged me: "Genie Francis did everything Tony Geary did. She just did it backwards & in high heels!" It's a shame the emmy's didn't have a younger category back then. Genie would probably have a half dozen by now had they. She's like a shooting star~it doesn't happen very often, but man-oh-man, when you see 1, it's truly & spectacularly brilliant. THAT's Genie Francis!!!! She's like a fine, rare pearl.
LLLRiverside She never seemed to get the credit she deserved IMHO. She is an incredible actress who knows exactly how to make it all real and touching..... always!
sussezq It is a shame it took so long for her to receive an Emmy. The first time I saw her was the David Hamilton story and I thought she was amazing and I started to watch the show. I was in awe of her talent from the start. There must have been too much jealousy around her to acknowledge her, my only guess.
Yeah, she was just too wise for her years, in competition with actresses who were seasoned, and had gained respect. If there was a best younger actress category back then Genie would have her slew of Emmy's too!! Genie and Denise Alexander are the reasons I started watching GH.
@@sussezq It always seemed to me as if Genie Francis is an old soul. An old soul would certainly be wiser than their years. I know I feel like I am an old soul too. Maybe that helped me relate to the character of Laura.
I consider this a major turning point in their relationship at this time. I think this really (and finally) hit home for Luke about why she said and acted the way she did -both her fear of being labeled a “tramp,” but also her response to the reporters when they got back and they were cornered by them in the police station. It wasn’t just because she was (in his eyes at the time) a little girl who couldn’t handle the pressure of breaking her marriage vows; she was a traumatized young woman who was still carrying the burden and guilt of a terrible time in her life. All of the trauma she went through flashed before her right then, and she panicked. Laura had tried to tell him about it to some degree in one of the previous scenes (their conversation in the barn before they returned home), but he kept interrupting her and didn’t really give her room or time for a full explanation. I think that if she had this full conversation with him before their return to PC, he would’ve been more understanding and forgiving about how she acted afterwards, and they wouldn’t have been apart for so long. But this is a great scene full of great acting. Kudos to both of them for making it so real.
So on point. He (and I actually) didn't understand why she did what she did at the press conference. These storylines were so brilliant because they kept true to the story and what the characters had experienced. They wrote it so that Laura may not have even understood herself why she panicked the way she did with the reporters. Now all of her comments about wanting to come home "pure" and "faithful" make so much sense. Not having ever seen the Hamilton story line, it was a big reveal to me. AND the writers saving this moment was just wow - a masterful storytelling arc. L and L kind of had to go through this time apart in order to grow. Luke to move from obsessive love to a mature and grounded love. Laura had to fully come to terms with Hamilton and how it was still impacting her choices. Her early marriage to Scott may have even been a way for her to convince herself that she had value and fit into the PC community. Scott and his family were upstanding people in the community. Luke was the opposite and she fought her attraction to him because he was everything the Baldwins and her mother were not. Fringe, dangerous, seedy...The thought that she would be attracted to that probably terrified her and being attached to someone like Luke would solidify with everyone that she was a tramp. Even in scenes up to this point, she would stand next to her parents and not Luke when he was around. On the day they got engaged, in the diner she v-lined to stand next to Rick and was hesitant to tell the parents that she and Luke were engaged. Very pivotal scene and masterfully acted. Wow.
Well said,.now her behavior makes more sense. I never saw the David Hamilton storyline or when her and Scotty got together and go married. Their marriage never made sense to me. She was always insisting she loved him like she was talking herself into it and it doesn't make sense to me that her parents let her get married at 17...maybe it had something to do with Laura letting Leslie take the blame for David Hamilton's murder? But if neither Laura nor Leslie killed David Hamilton, who did? Rick? Scotty?
Zelda Evans Have to realize how young she was and there weren't as many Daytime Emmys then. The Daytime Emmys were first presented in 1977 and there was a great number of veteran actors who had never received one.
Thank you for explaining why they didn't receive Emmy awards even though they should have, especially this storyline acting quality. Genie and Tony were so spellbinding.
@@sharonjonsy9412 yes. The explanation does help a lot!! I have felt so bad Genie wasn’t Awarded for her skillful, magnificent work during this period. I thought… how unfair. The explanation does soften the blow though. I mean she had to be AMONG THE BEST of THE BEST of them, (actors/actresses) daytime or nighttime! Simply Intriguing.
That is one of the things that inspired this place. I couldn't stand going to other message boards and dealing with all the negativity. This channel is a place to pay homage to my favorite actors and an incredible production.... don't want the vibe getting messed up! ;-)
She was also robbed the year that Lucky died in the fire. Those scenes on the docks with Luke then in the morgue et all....I don't care what ANYONE says, that performance alone was THE best of the year! That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Genie Francis was the most underappreciated actress in daytime soap ever ! She should've won many Emmy's in her career . Its Just shameful ! She will always be number #1 to me during this era .
@AWeberF222 Oh my God...I have never seen a performance like this EVER...All those years that I watched GH in the L&L era, I never appreciated her as much as I do now. She is truly in the class of a Meryl Streep...amazing acting, such heart wrenching emotion. The look of compassion on Luke's face. beautiful scene.
Amazing acting no doubt about it. We also have to look at a storyline that was well before its time - in this scene Laura is discussing how David Hamilton made her feel good, etc., now known as "grooming", and what really happened to her was molestation in today's terms. Much like the "acquaintance rape", so ahead of their time. But, I cannot stress enough watching the facial cues by Miss Francis, and how realistic every detail is when it comes to acting out this horrid event in the character's life. Wow, again.
I am still crying after watching this scene. What great acting. GF should have won an Emmy for this. I am so glad she is back on GH . I hope Luke gets back with Laura.
This scene really explains why Laura did not respond the way that Luke expected when they returned last summer. Really wish they would have talked about that more - GF is amazing here. She was robbed of an emmy for sure!
He treated her bad cause when they got home she rejected him. She took off the cigar wedding band he gave her. He was hurt but I knew he would end up with his true love Laura. There will never ever be a couple like this. Luke and Laura forever. ❤❤❤
This is another foreshadowing of her loosing her grip on reality. Luke’s love for her holds her together for so long. I makes me think of her catatonic state when she thinks she killed her father.
I remember the David Hamilton story and when this story happened, I immediately said eek David Hamilton... Genie did wonderful in this scene.. and bringing up David calling her a tramp.. the light bulb went off w/ Luke and why the tramp thing meant so much. I still cry w/ Laura in this scene.
Luke and BJ pretended they had her letters to DH, set her up to meet in a bar to retrieve them, laughed about her getting caught. BUT THEN HE MEETS LAURA&&
Which why she had to come back to the apartment, find Duvall, so she would tell Luke about David Hamilton and the tramp remark and the fear of the press and then he would know exactly why she did what she did at the police station. Now that is what I call layering upon layering of storyline.
I know sussezq had said something like this already, but the thing that makes them stand out or apart - (as I try to picture various other couples in scenes from random soaps) is that you feel that you're almost encroaching on some couple's private life moment, like it's this very intimate, personal thing between these two people, so honest and transparent is this acting. There is this quality to the interaction, the emotions, that is so heartfelt, so natural and spontaneous... It is a rare talent, and then you add the synergistic quality of their chemistry together and whammo.
Defiantly, it’s all those little intimate thing like Luke kissing Laura all over her face & hair. It makes the scene so real, It’s personal, that’s what’s missing with other actors/couples.
I think this is when Luke finally realized how traumatized Laura was from the ordeal with Hamilton. Now he understands why she cracked at the police station when they came back from Beecher's Corners.
Genie Francis acted exactly how she should act in this scene. Amazing. I let my mind go to how a person would feel in real life with her background history with DH and all else that Laura went through from her childhood (being taken from Leslie etc) and how the fear would be overwhelming. It was as if she were reliving it all and expected a horrible life altering outcome. She could not see any way out. There is not one actor on GH who deserves an Emmy more than she does for this performance. At such a young age no less. Boy they missed the mark on this one.
They not only miss there mark this bright new young star. GF was epic and GF still is not only still a beauty but she is a artist in the highest level she is the best of the very best. Miss Francis should have received many awards for always giving her heart& soul and her beautiful everything . The big people of GH robbed GF of many awards and respect of her acting abilities sorry JMHO. Rosie out ...But not gone thank you.
In my opinion they miss there mark too many times to many times. It gets to be the same crap. JMHO Rosie once again. Can’t seem to shut my mouth. Rosie.
I always focused on how neat it was that Laura's character evolved over time from 78 to this point for example, but I just now, after seeing this scene countless times, realized what an exodus Luke's personality traveled from the snarky talking scene in December 78, when he asks Bobbie if she wants him to get a couple of his guys to "rough her up a little bit," (he doesn't know her at all yet, obviously) to the obsessed Luke from just before and after the rape, to the energized/driven Luke who needs to expose Smith and get free of him, to hurt/wounded Luke just after Beecher's corners return, to the wily/humorous/innovative Luke trying to do the ice princess job for Alex, to this kind/muted/tender Luke wanting to shield his love from het pain 💕💕
Luke had lived in Port Charles for a year without any contact with Bobbie at all. It was only when Bobbie was in need of "help" to stick it to Laura that she contacted Luke. Now whether he knew anything about what happened with David Hamilton is a different story. He wouldn't have had any reason to take note of that until Bobbie contacted him.
There are no words (well, I'll find a few, obviously!) to describe how amazing GF was in her scenes, talking about David Hamilton. I'm in awe of her talent.
There were NO crappy actresses back then on GH... the actresses were hired because of their talent, skills and ability to accurately portray the motivation and emotion of their character... they were not hired JUST because of their pretty face or bra size. It was more about the work. Ms. Monty was fierce!!!
Honestly we are saying that all the time... there are so many. It really boggles my mind. I do not understan the industry at all. Tony Geary is great.. I begrudge him nothing.... but Genie Francis equally as great and much younger at the beginning of all this. Why was she never recognized?? It's sad!!!!
I believe it was... that's why they keep talking about fire works... can you believe it was a year since searching Frank Smith's office... in sussezq playlist time it was a mere couple of months! LOL
OMG;;; LUKE IS SO TENDER AND LOVING WITH LAURA,,, IF ONLY A MAN COULD LOVE LIKE THAT FOR REAL,,, THE WHOLE SCENE IS SO REAL, ,G,F SHOULD HAVE GOT AN AWARD FOR THIS,, AS SHOULD T,G,,,, MY LORD THEY ARE SO GOOD TOGETHER,, I WONT WATCH TODAY'S GH,, BECAUSE THERE NOT TOGETHER ANY MORE, AND HAVEN'T BEEN FOR YR,S & YR,S ,,, GH DID THEM WRONG,, SO VERY WRONG,,, AND NOW TG IS GONE FOR GOOD,, AND THAT BREAKS MY HEART,,,,,, MOST OF ALL,,,
Mary Beckett that's exactly why I don't watch anymore. They were my whole reason for watching. And without them together, it's not worth my time. Breaking them up was absolutely criminal.
Sue, exactly the same for me. I'd leave work along with my co-workers and watch TG and GF from the very beginning when he first was obsessed with her and became her "very best friend" on the show and they're story evolved
It's been 3 years since your comment, so forgive me, but I had to answer. Love like this DOES exist! My husband was so unbelievably tender, so patient and protective of me, so generous and passionate. He used to put both hands in my hair, kiss my neck, he was all a woman dreams of. He held me when I cried, cared for me when I was sick. After he was paralyzed by a medical mistake, I was told to put him in a home. No way would I consider it. I cared for him until I got too sick myself, and we were in and out of hospitals until he died last year. He was my dearest treasure, 44 years were a flash. Never believe a man can't love this way.Dont settle for less. It's real!
That's a tough call If in fact she was nominated along with Judith Light (court house scene). Both performances were heartbreaking and absolutely great...
I've just realized that when they get on Luke's bed Laura says to Luke , "Help Me", which is just what Luke said one year before when he popped out of the water and grabbed Laura's ankle. One more line of dialogue coming full circle. Talk about the long game.
I was asked in an interview once what was the one Luke and Laura scene that stood out and made you cry... wel...I don't cry (my father freaked out when he saw me cry the first time at 16)... hardly ever anyway, especially not at TV...but Genie Francis in those scenes when Laura finds out about Lucky's death... SLAYED me.. I was balling like a baby... oh my God SOOOOOO powerful. She's not my favorite actress for nothing! (With Meryl and Denise Alexander right behind!) :-)
Had to come back here to comment about the David Hamilton thing. On today's episode (11/23/20), Laura is discussing the David Hamilton thing again with Sonny. It was very interesting the acting choices she made telling this story now. She was emotional, but told it from an empowering point of view, but didn't do the crying thing. I know Genie has stated she is done with the victim thing. And I think it was reflected it the retelling today. the overwhelming feeling one got from her about David Hamilton was anger. It shows the maturity of her acting abilities over all these years.
Okay.. have posted it like a zillion times in EVERY video... you can talk about characters all you want.. but will not tolerate your negative comments about REAL people. That's not what this place is for. Thanks for your consideration of the tone I have managed to keep here for several years.
It makes me mad. She should have 4 or 5 herself. I can't believe she was overlooked for so long. Does anyone know if she was nominated prior to her win. I can't remember.
Yes she was nominated in 1997 for the Nick reveal/Cassidines returning storyline. They were all nominated that year: GF, TG, JJ, and JZ (for best supporting actress). Only JJ won that year. I remember when TG was there to present and they had Genie on the screen. She couldn't be there because she was about to give birth to her daughter any day, and TG said she should go into labor right then and make the cover of Newsweek again. It was funny!
Two words: Judith Light. Not to take anything at all from GF, but Light was simply amazing as Karen on OLTL ...hard to believe she's the same woman who played Angela on "Who's the Boss?" and wasn't she in some Herpes-scare film with Tony Geary?
Yes, Judith was amazing, but we’ll truly never know because Genie wasn’t nominated. The field of actresses nominated for the outstanding actress daytime Emmy from its inception in 1974 would not have been considered ingenues as Genie was. That’s why the outstanding younger actress was necessary. Genie was a trailblazer. She broke the mold. That’s why _she_ was on the cover of TV Guide. Her gift, her expertise, had other show’s scrambling to find the next Genie. In fact, even GH tried it briefly with the character of Kathy, Heather’s aide. And they quickly learned there is only one Genie Francis.
@@Ylremikthat is an interesting point. I always thought they were trying to do that with Jackie and Laura Templeton. And I never thought about the Genie Tv Guide civet that way: but I remember the cover photo. I read the article but don’t remember what it said. But I do remember the picture on the cover and how much older they made Genie look in that picture. And how she conveyed that on her expression.
YT will not let me post comments!!! Trying to see if I can at least reply to yours. Can you believe this woman had to wait until 2007 to win an Emmy??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTH?????????????????????? How many Emmy winning performances did she produce from 79-81 alone????!!!!!!
It's interesting how they made her look so young here. She looks the same as when she killed David Hamilton accidentally. And I hate to say it but this is the scene that convinces me that she does have the capability of losing it again like she does 20+ years later. She lost it when she killed him, she almost lost it totally when she found James Duvall, she loses it when Nikolas shows up and she lost it when she thought she killed Rick. It's obvious here that Laura has unresolved PTSD from David Hamilton.
well Genie Francis has stated in interviews that Laura has an "on switch" and that its always there ready to be flipped on. So I guess what you are referring to also.
And abandonment issues from being switched at birth. Laura’s always wanted stability because it was often ripped from her. Hamilton really exploited her need to matter to someone, and further damaged her. Genie’s performances have always captured that longing in Laura.
@sonyab1974 Bobbie brought Luke to Port Charles after the whole David Hamilton mess. She told Luke that Laura belonged in reform school, but never went into why. They never showed Luke hearing anything about it.
True. Luke is hearing for the first time how vulnerable young Laura was and how she was manipulated by Hamilton. Bobbi’s portrait of Laura, the version Luke heard, was skewed by her resentment about her own upbringing. Luke’s experience of Laura as an empathic individual who didn’t dismiss him because of his Elm Street roots was never congruent with Bobbi’s version. In this scene, Luke finally sees why Laura was the person who could and did love him warts and all.
I'm sure Luke is realizing now how he treated Laura after they returned from being on the run and her momentary lapse in the police station. It wasn't betrayal.
sharon oksen wow... I remember her going to the bar with Scottie, and them being caught out in the snow with a messed up car... but oh my - I didn't remember that Luke and Bobbie used the DH letters to lure her there!!

YES..... all the time until a few minutes ago! Sorry I really didn't mean that to be a reply just wanted to post it... but I couldn't wanted to see if I could write at all.
I hate how politics and cliques at work or school, or any group will always ruin everything. Genie earned an Emmy several times, but never got it. People can easily change rules to make things right, but don't- bc of politics, being part of the crowd. Or they do change rules, to make sure things go their way. It's such a waste.
This scene brought Luke to the point of no return. Killing O’Reilly brought Scorpio to that point. Things got really personal from this point on in the storyline.
Genie Francis was no nominated in 80-81..... serious problem for her not having a best YOUNGER actress category back then...seriously if they did she would have a slew of those gold trophies!!!
It really is too bad the Genie Francis was soo talented and could pull off these off the wall scenes... we may not have had to endure the 2002 Laura Lost and 2006 Lost again... Think of Laura all these years in these sad states!!
This caper has many illogical twists..like why didnt scorpio wsb pro have alex followed as soon as they discovered from Slick that she got the ip from Emma lutz? That may have saved Duval life and retrived the ip from her!

Beautifully acted scene. Also very interesting because it's the first time I recall seeing Laura really needing Luke the way he's always needed her.
👍🏽you summed it up!
The LOVE on Luke's face when Laura tells him about Hamilton just brings tears to my eyes.
I dont think Bobbie told him about that stuff with David H, when she got Luke to help her mess with Laura before
@@susanmartin313 I NEVER SAW HER TELL LUKE, THAT STORY OF LAURA AND DAVID EITHER.
Oh my gosh, Genie is just memorizing in this clip. They are so awesome together, just takes your breath away!
@@sussezq WOW!!
These two are truly acting soulmates. No matter how many adventures Luke/Tony had after GF left it didn’t measure up as when they were together.
NO lies told!
@@sussezq Thank sussezq for all of the clips of LnL.
Sad thing is GF has stated she was willing to come back but GH wouldn't pay her what other soaps would.
Rick? Scotty?
GF was robbed of an Emmy for this and all of her performances in this story line.
She was robbed robbed robbed robbed...you just can't say enough. She was amazing in this scene. She deserved 4 Emmy's for just this. So frustrating.
OMG I AGREE!! The shock and grief when she saw that lucky had died was nothing short of incredible.
how did she not win an emmy for this scene?? She is unbelieveable
She looks so young and vulnerable in the scene. Fantastic acting by both. I love the fact that he’s so protective of her.
This is such an amazing performance! It is so good, Anthony Geary is crying, too!
He should be, after what he and Bobbie did to her
Genie Francis was the most underappreciated actress in daytime soap ever ! She should've won many Emmy's in her career . Its Just shameful ! She will always be number #1 to me during this era .
Veteran actors and actresses or not.. GF won this hands down in the public eye!
I never understood why she didn't win an emmy for this. She was brilliant.
The writing here is sublime.
What a performance Genie!
Wow, again.
Freaking OUTSTANDING, believable work!! Miss Francis, yep…off the charts!
I am still crying after watching this scene. What great acting. GF should have won an Emmy for this. I am so glad she is back on GH . I hope Luke gets back with Laura.
All I can say is WOW!!!!! So much raw talent at that age was truly amazing! She's even better today!
These scenes really were something else, you just can't take your eyes off them. Totally engaged.
G.F. is brilliant !
This scene really explains why Laura did not respond the way that Luke expected when they returned last summer. Really wish they would have talked about that more - GF is amazing here. She was robbed of an emmy for sure!
Yep. If there was a younger actress category than she would have a slew!!!
This should've made Luke feel guilty for the way he treated Laura when they came home from Beecher's Corner.
He treated her bad cause when they got home she rejected him. She took off the cigar wedding band he gave her. He was hurt but I knew he would end up with his true love Laura. There will never ever be a couple like this. Luke and Laura forever. ❤❤❤
Good Lord, GF KILLED it in this scene!!
Well NOBODY does "freak out scences" better than Ms. Francis!!!!
Yes Sussezq thank you. You are sooo damn right. Thanks Roaie
This is another foreshadowing of her loosing her grip on reality. Luke’s love for her holds her together for so long. I makes me think of her catatonic state when she thinks she killed her father.
They both were fabulous!!! MISS THEM!!!
i can not believe I remember every minute of this episode.
@@sharonjonsy9412 the rest is history!
@sharonjonsy9412 Wait, so Luke was part of the David Hamilton storyline??
@@lisah9709 no, and she'd already mentioned David to Luke (before they came back from the farm) but he didn't know the stuff she shared here.
GF is absolutely amazing - I really felt for Laura in this scene - & it breaks my heart for this happen to her . So sad .
YEP Whammo! Nothing like 'em!
Defiantly, it’s all those little intimate thing like Luke kissing Laura all over her face & hair. It makes the scene so real, It’s personal, that’s what’s missing with other actors/couples.
This scene is fantastic. She’s sooooo genuine. In all honesty, this beautiful young girl should have one and award for that specific scene .
She should have won an Emmy for this performance! She was so young and my goodness a huge talent!
Yes definitely! Genie did not get enough credit for her acting back then.
I SURE do miss Luke/Anthony Geary. I doubt he'll ever be back though. :-(
I miss him too. He needs to come back. Luke and Laura belong together forever, right?
I think this is when Luke finally realized how traumatized Laura was from the ordeal with Hamilton. Now he understands why she cracked at the police station when they came back from Beecher's Corners.
He will always love you Laura no matter how hard the writers try to mess it up for you!

S Turner ... and a FEW others!!!!
Rosie.
@@sussezq You said it! Missed the mark, no doubt!
This has emmy written all over it. I know you probably all agree! She is like no other on GH today
Mrs Francis is simply amazing...
When Laura returned in 1983, she woke up screaming. Luke was by her side immediately, and held her the same way!
Edward wears his plaid shirts on "Independence Day". 🇺🇸 David Lewis was Fantastic.
Sussez you 're right, she did win an SOD award in '97. She was nominated for an Emmy but didn't win. I was bummed out!
I believe it was... that's why they keep talking about fire works... can you believe it was a year since searching Frank Smith's office... in sussezq playlist time it was a mere couple of months! LOL

Emmy worthy performance by Genie Francis
Brilliant acting. Brilliant.
Julie Murphy exactly. No one else could have pulled this off so realistically. So grateful for the 79 80 81 clips. I stop after that
That's a tough call If in fact she was nominated along with Judith Light (court house scene). Both performances were heartbreaking and absolutely great...
Scarlettcrzy oooooh that Judith Light courthouse scene was powerful!
What sort of interview were you in? Just curious.
I was just thinking the same thing! When they go to the morgue to identify Lucky, her performance left me heartbroken it looked so real.
I know that this sounds mean and I'm sorry, but I don't feel sorry for Alex one bit, not the way she treated Laura
Karma will catch up to Alex, never fear.

@sonyab1974 It's likely that he did know something about it, but Laura clearly states she needs to talk about it, so Luke lets her unload.

Can you believe this woman had to wait until 2007 to win an Emmy??????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTH??????????????????????
How many Emmy winning performances did she produce from 79-81 alone????!!!!!!
Genie Francis should have received many awards. Genie/Laura should have won a lot more I just love her
Luke loves her so much!!❤❤❤❤
I am not sure how it worked then... or now. Sure is a travesty!!!
For sure!!
.. but GF wasn't even nominated... so how could Judith Light prevent her from winning?? I am confused, sorry.
@AWeberF222 Me too! Hence the reason for this channel!
@NancyG62 Okay I will give you that but Port Chuck was a small town. I'm sure Luke would have heard about it somewhere. :)
@sonyab1974 Bobbie brought Luke to Port Charles after the whole David Hamilton mess. She told Luke that Laura belonged in reform school, but never went into why. They never showed Luke hearing anything about it.
Bobbie didn’t bring Luke to PC. He lived there, commented that she’d been back for a year without calling him...
Did you see that Scottie just asked Laura for a divorce? Even he knows that Laura belongs to Luke!
I'm sure Luke is realizing now how he treated Laura after they returned from being on the run and her momentary lapse in the police station. It wasn't betrayal.
I wish Luke would have been around when DH was seducing Laura, he would have straightened him right up and kicked his A..
Its a good thing DH isnt alive here, because Luke, would find him and KILL HIM.
Damn...that's all I've got to say.
You can tell Luke already knew about David Hamilton. He just never brought it up.
she'd already told him some of the David story. plus she'd been in the news.
He didn't know all of it.
sharon oksen wow... I remember her going to the bar with Scottie, and them being caught out in the snow with a messed up car... but oh my - I didn't remember that Luke and Bobbie used the DH letters to lure her there!!

EXTREMELY!!!
I hate how politics and cliques at work or school, or any group will always ruin everything. Genie earned an Emmy several times, but never got it. People can easily change rules to make things right, but don't- bc of politics, being part of the crowd. Or they do change rules, to make sure things go their way. It's such a waste.
How Genie didn’t win an Emmy is a travesty!!
Took him long enough!! lol
This caper has many illogical twists..like why didnt scorpio wsb pro have alex followed as soon as they discovered from Slick that she got the ip from Emma lutz? That may have saved Duval life and retrived the ip from her!
