I loved how Cat Noir won his first two fights. With Mr. Pigeon, he demonstrated the Inverse Ninja Rule. With Reflekta, he took advantage of Max's inexperience with high heels. It was also gratifying to see Marinette given a chance to lay into her main rivals in ways she normally never could, even avenging her uncle against Chloe's Antibug. Flat-out socking Lila's Volpina was probably the most cathartic of the bunch for her. Most of all, I love how much they were able to pull out of such a simple premise. We saw Cat Noir display creativity, panache, and utmost faith in his partner. (Adrien Agreste is best Gwen Stacey.) Ladybug was in top form for creativity and adaptability in that last fight. Marinette's way of helping people who want her time by bringing them together drives home one of her best strengths. It's also interesting to consider how the episode's lesson applies to Gabrielle Agreste. We all understand why Hawkmoth wants to reach his goal as Hawkmoth as soon as possible, yet he still finds time to provide a little fun for his villain of the week AND the heroes.
