I have recently bought a few new journals as well as some journals that I have had for some time and I am just loving all of them and wanted to of course share them all with you!!

I'm obsessed with journals too. Have been my whole life. I swear there is nothing like the look, feel, smell of a brand new empty journal. The possibilities are endless. Sometimes I stand in the journals section of Barnes and Noble and just touch every single one there.

I am so so obsessed with different types of journal. You are not alone. Being from england I was finding it difficult to find the leuchtturm 1917 but I have searched and searched and finally found them in some independent stationery shops!!! I was so excited that I bought 2 in 2 weeks for completely no reason but they will be written and drawn in eventually. (That is once I stop staring at them and how perfect they are) Thank you for sharing your thoughts and reviewing all these great journals. Im always looking for new inspiration and ideas and your channel is just perfect :)

Journals make me happy too. Love all different kinds. I bought some Leuchtturm1917 at Meijer. They wee $11.24 the last time I went. I started using one for my Bullet Journal but went to the MTN instead. I might go back and fill it up when the current MTN is full. Love your journals.

i was just sent a journal from daiso, that is smaller in page count but very similiar to the hobonichi, ive started my diy hobo, in the grid page book from walmart, so i cant wait to finish that one and start this new one!!

Ah I love journals, too! However, I've had a different experience regarding the Moleskines... My Voilant (? or something like that) does not take fountain pens well, it bleeds through. The same goes for the regular ruled Moleskine notebooks. With a fatter flex nib, it feathers as well. I've also filled two of those Moleskine Sketch books with thicker paper. In my experience, they can take watercolors in very small amounts, but when I cover an entire page lightly with watercolor, the paper gets these really strange specs of grey in it... And my dip pen with a bit of flex to it bleeds through... For drawing, acrylics and gluing stuff in, I like this book, but for more watery things, it's not that good. I prefer watercolor paper or finer writing paper, like Mnemosyne or Midori's MD paper :)

I just love putting stickers in my journals and such. They make it easyer to find the page you wont when it is marked with a special sticker.

Haha, yeah, the internet is very handy that way ;) I'm from Denmark, which is just above Germany - Danes don't speak German very well, since it's only our third language, but I have German as my minor at my university, that's why I had to compliment your pronunciation of 'Leuchtturm' ;)

My favorite brands are Peter Pauper and Paperblanks. Both brands have artistic covers. I don't care for soft covers as they don't hold up as well as hardbacks. I've been journaling for 45 years
I think you'd enjoy Rhodia paper (the Goulets do that too ;) ) - comes in lined, plain, dot and grid. I like to buy pads and make Midori and Filofax inserts, but you can get it in notebooks. It's practically perfect fountain pen paper; it really makes inks stand out. Although you may have to wait just a little longer for ink to dry.

By the way, I recently saw the Fabriano journals at Barnes and Noble - they had different colored papers (in primary colors) and they were the size of the A6 Hobinichi. I would guess it would fit inside the A6 cover. Happy Journaling!!

I have my smartphone, and I just don't like taking notes there, and if I take them, I just ignore them... It must be on paper to my mind pay attention to it :D ...I know it may sound crazy, but I feel we are the same, I just love buying Journals!!! :D

I recomend looking at amazon first for lluectrum notebooks. Some of them are cheaper than goulet pens ones. However, i will admit that the ones i have recieved from amazon have like small dents in certain areas but it gives the notebook character.
I tested the paper of the Leuchtturm notebooks in a store and wasnt sure if i liked the thin paper, cause i dont like it when the ink looks through the pages. And at the end i didnt buy it. But seeing your used pages here and they look so good, maybe i have to try it. Cause i am still looking for my perfect journal, havent found it yet. Thanks for the video! :)

I'm thinking your "journal joy" might be contagious!. Thanks for all the good idea's on different journals. I'm a "late bloomer" in the journal world...70yr old. retired artist and I need a good journal that will take abuse as I do mixed media, but I also want quality too. I'm using Moleskine now.

Try the Peter Pauper Press Essentials Notebook! It's the journal I'm using right now for bullet journaling & journaling in general and I LOVE it! Gonna be so sad to finish it!

Hey you should check out CVS they sometimes have journals or Walgreens they have journals sometimes you would have to ask. Also Target has journals

Hi, I love your videos. I too am an avid journaller but I do worry about my more personal entries being read. Can I ask how you deal with keeping your journals private? Do you worry about them being read? I have thrown journals away in the past because of this worry and I don't want to do that again.

Hello. Maybe you can recommend a thick (meaning many pages )journal with smooth paper. The first one you held up looks nice but i do a lot of writing and would like the paper not to be like course sketch paper. :)
How have the binding held up for all of these? I am super picky about that.
Wonder Midget I don't do too much glueing in my notebooks so they don't get over stuffed. I have them all still and they all are still in tact
MissVickybee thank you for the response. I bought a few of the Miquel journals. However the first one I started using started to rip at the binding. I am going to try another one. I really like the paper and especially love the thickness. I don't glue or use a lot of Washi.

I recommend watching some of the talented people on youtube!! Watch Bob Ross because I have been watching him since I was a little girl. Take a pencil and paper and just start drawing what you see!!

I always keep pushing back and saying: one day I'll get one... i have some copies of that journals and honestly, i've put my hands on one and the quality pays the price...

As for the Leuchtturm notebooks: Its the German word for lighthouse. and your pronunciation actually isn't all that bad. Definitely not one of our easier words :D

Hi! I am 13 and I have recently played Uncharted Golden Abyss. I LOVED the game. I LOVE movies and games about a mistery on a tropic island, so the game was perfect. Nathan Drake has a journal (main character), and that's when I fell in love with journals. Anybody started their love for journals like this, or am I the only one? :)

Thank you!! I just took it to my paper trimmer and just cut a few pages at a time and then the cover I took an exacto knife and cut it down!! Good luck!
I buy journals and never know what to do with them. I have one with owls and want to do a picture journal. I'm afraid to mess it up.
I ♥ MiquelRius and Moleskine. I don't collect though, I actually use them. I only write on graph paper =)
cahier is french for notebook and pronounced more like cai-yay, leuchttrum is german for lighthouse and is pronounced almost exactly how you said it!! :) great video though!

Try The Bullet Journal
If you like Leuchturm paper for fountain pens, your fountain pen is not wet, it's very dry. The paper is lousy for fountain pens because it ghosts even with medium wet pens. Rhodia is the number one notebook for fountain pen users, and I'd say at least four other brands are far better for fountain pens than Leuchtturm, not counting several more difficult to find brands. Leuchtturm notebooks are excellent for many things, but faountain pens are not one of those things.

They are SO bright; open it with sunglasses. I could see my yellow one through the jiffy envelope!
