We have a consignment shop near us that does the same thing with prices and dates. They also have a clearance room for when it's past both dates. If you really look there are some good deals

Loved this shopping trip video! My sister and I take 4 or 5 trips every year. The main things we do is thrifting and eating, lol. We are definitely going to Holly, Michigan. I'm 72 and my sister is 71 and we can sure get around on our trips. Every nook and cranny of my SUV is always filled but don't ask us run the sweeper at home, that's too much!

Love your thrifting adventures. I heard you say do the green bags work keeping your food from getting rotten. I will tell you they work well They definitely extend the life of of your produce and at the prices today it is worth it. They can be reused 2-3 times.

That red rubber top was a very good deal. They sell those at my local Hallmark & are quite expensive. They work amazing.

Changing Thymes in Grandville, Michigan is another amazing place to visit! It also has booths & there are are 2 huge buildings across the street from each other. Very similar to the one you videod

I knew Holly & Fenton had beautiful stores. One was our drugstore, another our poultry/feed store. Goodwill was a Hamadys grocery I think.
The stores you showed in Holly used to be antique stores. They turned cottage/farmhouse/ pottery barn/ target style. I hope Battle Alley is still antiques.

Oh my goodness, Kelly, I am sooo glad you posted this video! My sister lives in Grand Blanc, which isnt far at all from Fenton and Holly and we LOVE to go on shopping trips! She actually took me to the vintage farmhouse before when the previous owner had it. Im excited to plan a day trip for the two of us! Oh by the way, I am absolutely loving the wood shapes I purchased from your etsy shop, they are absolutely perfect! ❤

I think you did pretty good in your finds at the thrift stores. I loved the stores in Holly. Wish my town had these kind of stores but that’s okay I can always walk around with you n do wishful thinking. Actually I saw many things I would love. Your so right Kelly they do a great job at displaying their booths. This is always so much fun .
I tried last week to get in your shop but I couldn’t get it. I did send you a email about it. I told you I’m illiterate when it comes to technology n even my iPhone. I really saw some things I wanted too. Oh well, I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

Anyway, I did get your email but I just haven't had time to sit down and write you back between orders and taping for my videos! I'm so sorry, Shelly! Love your thrifting trip. My daughter lives in Holly so I've been there thrifting many times. Those shops are awesome. Kristin and I took an Annie Sloan paint class at Pigeon in the Parlor, which was lots of fun and we learned all kinds of finishes. Now Kristin works part time at the store. I have never been to those shops in Fenton. Looks like I'll be going a a day trip soon to those stores. Thanks for sharing

Kelly and Joann: the item that you were looking at was white, the top portion looked like a magazine rack, and you said you could hang tea towels on it. Well, it is not for the kitchen, but for the bathroom. It holds magazines or books and two rolls of bath tissue. My mom gave one to my husband at Christmas 1989 as a joke.

I live in Fenton the Goodwill can be pricey (hit or miss). We lost Fratz's at the end of the year in 2023 (the owner retired). She plans to open a smaller store in Au Gres soon. It was a consignment store and their pricing was to encourage buying it as soon as possible. I don't know if you saw but the color of the tag on the door had special pricing. If the item was over $20 on it's initial price, it was half off the lowest price. And if it was under $20 for the initial price, it became $1. I got so many great things for a dollar! I'm going to miss that place.
Funny story. I saw that same tote when it was there at Fratz's back in January of 2023. And I bought one of the washboards on the shelf above the tote in the video.
P.S. I live around the corner from the Laundry in an old Victorian.
I'm glad that you had luck at that Goodwill in Holly. My mom and her friend find things from time to time, but I don't. Many times I find the prices too high. I am thrilled that you found stuff though.
I was thinking about doing a booth in Blue Willow at one point. I may still.
I was also going to mention the Annie Sloan paint across the street at the Pigeon in the Parlour. I love that store! Upstairs is so charming. It has a miniature (but full adult sized) kitchen area. I can't explain it, you just have to see it when you go back.
The basement in Altered Designs is wonderful too.
And if you ever go back to Holly, have lunch at the Bittersweet Cafe. *chef's kiss* It's only open until 4 most days but I think it stays open later on the weekend.
