Thank you for this. I have both of these. Its fascinating for me to see so many comments that say the 7600 has better audio than the D808. I well remember when so many reviews criticised the 7600 for its poor, muffled audio. They are both great radios. The D808 is my go to travel radio. Its great on SW, MW and FM. On LW its fair. The D808 is a worthy successor to the 7600G. 73s
Thanks Jim! I like both very much that's why I left the last judgement to the viewers discretion. I lean a bit towards the Sony because of the warmer sound and emotional reasons. However, as it in your case, my current travel companion, for a number of practical reasons, is the D-808. Nowadays, the Sony spends more time on display with the rest of my Sony SW radios collection. 73 de Toni, EA4LE/KC2HAX
@@afernan10 I too have a collection of Sony SW radios - 2001D, SW 100, SW55 and 76000G. Bearing in mind their age, particularly the 2001D and the SW 100, I seldom take them out. Another favourite of mine is the venerable Panasonic RF B65. 73s
I own a Sony 7600 G and I made my mind to get this XHDATA viewing this review. My Sony is also like 30 years old and I know plastics decay and break. Other radios are hard on my SS income.
I am an amateur radio operator. (n5vwn) But I find I listen more than talk. The xhdata is just the thing for me. Quick set up next to the bed or on a picnic. I keep my ham station small as well. But the antenna system usually takes some effort for my usual 5 watts. I also like to listen to more than the amateurs. Nice video!
I've never seen the black one before - mine is silver - the only silver radio I own. The ICF-7600GR is one of the best SW receivers but I will always prefer my 2010. I really like the XHData performance too - may have to try it - plus it has a tuning knob,
Have both these radios , the Sony for many years and the XHdata just last year. Funny how I now also have these two good radios and I never saw any YT videos reviewing each together. Also the NRD-525 so looking forward to some DX time.
i used to embrace sony sound quality but interm of reception i give it to XHDATA this time, what you guys thought of XHDATA D-808 vs Tecsun PL-680 ? i dont see much comparison between the two?
Build quality can be bad on d808 , a lot of people complaining about glass falling of , aerials collapsing beyond repair and circuit's burning out, I'm pretty sure the airband doesn't work anymore as the 8.33 MHz steps aren't on the radio. Better of sticking with an old school well built radio .
Genial gracias x el vídeo. Me ha interesado mucho ese radiecito xhdata. Yo tengo el mismo Sony 7600 Gw en gris. Es bastante fiable. Ambos suenan excelente
Nice job, the Sony has better Audio. I was wondering in the Sony has been gone through and recapped? I would buy one today if I could find one that's been gone through. Sony 's are bad about leaky components.

Today I stumbled upon my 2010, in my garage, which I bought in 1986 from Gilfer. Haven't put batteries in it yet, damn, will it work?
Sony is better sound and reject noise. Good testing. 73 and Best DX from Mexico.
I prefer the "analog" sound of the Sony ;)

Further to my previous comment interm of built quality and best design, I give it to SONY. It just like Apple and Android.
