When traveling down the cost from Alaska on my 38' sailboat "Solitude" a cutter rigged Ingrid. We spent a few days home canning Albacore, 100 miles offshore.

Need to learn how to gaff in the head and not into the body. It ruins meat and can contaminate the flesh. And yes I've gaffed a thousand fish and if you can't hit the head don't take the shot just wait till you can. Yeah I know he gaffed the fish that spit the hook but that's rare to happen.
Nice vid...I have caught 60-70 + tuna on vintage Penn gear, just like our for fathers. All the haters on reel ol' gear can just go buy a $300.00+ Avet or whatever
eat ginger I always take ginger Candy's and they help..and alot of people get sick there first day out I'm a commercial fisherman and go out for weeks at a time and always puke every time on the way out haha

All right handed reels to I fight with my right hand and reel with my left all guide boats and charters have these so I take my own pole

gaffing your fish in the body just ruins so much meat. you can most likely just lift most of your fish on board if you run 50+ lb line.
