Dante was huge for the Knicks. I feel like they've taken a step backwards until they figure out how to utilize KAT efficiently. They lose a bit of perimeter defense with this trade as well.
Knicks have the best perimeter defense in the league currently so their fine in that regard

I think they're a wash. They were drafted the same year. Earlier in their careers Kat was definitely the better player but had regressed enough to where they're about even.. I still dont think the Knicks have a better starting 5 as a whole..

SG: J. Hart vs D. White Celtics win but a little
SF: M. Bridges vs J. Brown Celtics win but a good matchup
PF: OG vs Tatum Celtics win but OG will lockup Tatum and OG doesn’t force any shots
C: KAT vs Porgizus KAT wins but Porzingus is better on defense
Celtics wins but it is a 7 game series if they are all healthy. Saying the Knicks are better isn’t a crazy thing to say. As a Knick fan, I just know that it most likely isn’t true

I’m genuinely curious how he is saying the Knicks have a better starting five than the Celtics. If he is saying strictly just the opening night roster because KP is not playing, then fine. I still disagree with the point even if it is just the opening night lineups, but I can see a case made for it because of Horford. The bias against the Celtics has gotta stop. This is actually absurd. The Knicks have two players better than the Celtics that’s at the point guard and the center everything else the Celtics smack them so unless Brunson and towns are astronomically better than this point is just stupid.

The Knicks got a lot better but let us not get carried away. I said the Celtics could beat anyone with a starter or 2 missing from the line up and I was proven exactly right. I think what the Knicks and 76ers have done makes it so that the Celtics can only have 1 missing. If no Celtics are missing it’s a given but if 1 is missing it becomes a real competition. Just like if the Celtics were to be missing 2 last season it would have been a competition but the Celtics were only missing 1, so it wasn’t.
How this makes them better? Towns can shoot 3s but not as good as Divincenzo, he can play bully ball but not as good as Randle, can play center but not as good as any center of the Knicks, he’s versatile but can’t replace any of the Knicks player who’s good in his position. I hate stating the obvious, He’s amazing individually, but basketball is a team game.
Knicks are definitely a really good team (especially after trading for KAT). But, I don’t see how they are better than the Celtics.
