Hercules has to be the better pick here. I'm not the Hercules specialist but I guarantee you many people can vouch that. He is arguably the best cosmic champ in the game and his damage output is nuts once you get better at playing him!
Herc does not need to be awakened to play him. His awakened ability is useful but you can use him without It completely fine. Also he can't ascend them becuase they aren't r5
