I LOVE rocks with holes! I have a lot of them that I collected from CA beaches. The rocks are pretty soft though, and can break or crumble fairly easily. You can see faces in mine too. Yours are extra cool though! And the rock looks harder. Good call to make emojis out of them 😮
@ab9918 Estoy usando la traducción de Google para esto, pero sí... cualquier árbol cuya resina esté fuera de su corteza. Simplemente tómalo y quémalo en una piedra
My son brought me home seversl squared off and oblong bigger stones of the same color and many of them also have these holes. A few are flat too and almost triangular. They are actually perfectvfor holding my bug mesh/frost cloth on my raised garden beds.
You mean the one with two small holes that I didn't engrave? I was trying to think of something different to do with that one. I was trying to think of a word with double O's that would make sense to write on a rock, but I couldn't come up with anything. I'm holding onto that one until I come up with a decent idea.
Really? I read that geologists use them to figure out where the glaciers went since these rocks come from a very specific place. I can't imagine the glaciers went from Hudson Bay to Oregon.
@ well I don’t know what the mineral makeup is but they appear to be nothing more than basalt to me. And of course there is nothing significant about that. I have seen some incredible enormous basalt formations that were left behind from glacier flows
Omg that's how I see any rock with an open part - a mouth. I have an amethyst geode who looks frowny so he's a "gwumpy guyy" (he talks like an angwy lil kid, lol).
At one time there was a pebble in that hole,, that was actually a denser stone,.. through time and wear and tear from sand and water, it eventually washes the stone "kidney stone" out, leaving a bowl shape behind..
I have a bunch in a small clear mason jar arranged so the funky divot is outward. Makes for a full little display along with all the other display items. Good humor sir
Yes. I did a video about rocks that won't polish well, thinking that the hole would never polish. The rest of it did okay though, better than I thought it would.
Love it. Got another idea for you. Start a plant in one. People love that stuff. A cool rock with a plant in or on it sells really quick i do it all the time

So cute! What a great imagination!! 👋😁💖💖
I've had a very long, stressful day, week, year. This made me indescribably happy. Thank you.
I'm glad I could put a smile on your face.

They're graywacke. I read that it's 6-7 on the Moh's scale. I tumbled one once and it did better than I thought it would.
@MichiganRocks
That's so cool! Why are rocks so off-the-scale interesting?
Love it
Lol...very creative!!!
I love all your content but, this might be one of my favorite shorts ever!!!😂😂😂
Thanks. I had fun doing it.
Love em. Now those are pet rocks. My favorite is Aahhh-mar, aka Sleepy. Those are Omarzing...sorry bad dad joke 😊
Ha! Bad jokes are welcome here.
@MichiganRocks Great because it's my blood and somehow has become a staple in my comments, with a few us volleying bad jokes. Lots of fun.
I want one!
Fantastic idea Rob!! They actually made me think of the plain and peanut M&M guys ❤️
I texted some pictures to Sam and his girlfriend said the same thing. Extra crunchy though.
😂Love ur idea❤i really want one💕
You'll have to make your own, I'm not planning to sell these. My grandson will probably enjoy them.
It's great to see the Omar not being taken for granite!
Good one. Lol

I wish I thought of this. But hey, I can appreciate being given cool ideas.
I'm not sure why it took me so long either.

Those etched ones are so awesome!
Lol those are fun! You could also put incense in them or pine sap to burn. Oh pine sap smells so good.

Too funny Rob. I have a new appreciation for omars …..lol.
I found one and didn’t know what it was, just identified it 3 days ago!😂
I love them.
Thanks for sharing your ideas and videos
You're welcome.
Our shower floor is made up of sliced rocks....but also added a small omar for fun.
Is there a permanent puddle there?
Thanks
That's fun!
Love this! Thanks for sharing!
You should try making a pipe out of them. They look like a pipe bowl. Maybe you could drill through and put a stem in one and try it out.
I'm not a smoker.
Love the pig nosed one!! HILARIOUS!!

I find lots of them on the shores of Lake Superior. It’s amazing how they are formed 😊
I don't usually bring them home because I like to make stuff with whatever I bring home. I still won't bring many home, but this was fun.
@ Me too my daughter likes them
😂😂😂😂😂. I love this thumbnail. I’ve found these here in eastern Oregon as well. I love them for imaginary reasons and decorative miniatures

@@JohnPhilpott-q5k Omars are the rock graywacke. I always used to think they were basalt.
Old rocks and dad jokes. Idk why, but it kinda makes sense.
Maybe because both the rocks and the guy with the corny jokes are both old.
Omar gosh!😂 Very cool, Rob!
Good one, Jim! Wish I had thought of that.
Adorable 😊
❤which is your face?
I love these! What causes just one, single hole to be carved out?
There was a softer mineral in there that weathered out.
@MichiganRocks so interesting, thank you!
Loved the google eyes 👀 😂
You could take some reading and a model fish and make it look like a tiny pond
That would be tiny!

My mom used to make faces out of rocks. All her grands and great grands wanted them. These oh!mars are adorable.
Thanks!
Perfect use of that laser!!
At the start of the video, those Omars alone looked like a work of art!
Did I improve that, or ruin it?
Definitely improved!!
Just the way they were grouped together. It looked like an art pc.
Well done, Rob!
Take my money!!!
Nope, I'm not selling these.
Oh my gosh, I love them.
You just made my day 😮
I was smiling a lot while making them too.
The new Pet Rock 😂

Some clever marketing and these could be the next hot toy for kids
👍
My grandson is the only one getting one for now. I might make a few more, but only to give away, not to sell.

I thought that was duct tape.

Sounds like the kind of thing Sam would do. He has a lot of jars of various rocks.
@MichiganRocks got to do something with all the dangol things haha.
Candle holder
Really cute faces. Have you ever tried to polish an Omar ?
Yes. I did a video about rocks that won't polish well, thinking that the hole would never polish. The rest of it did okay though, better than I thought it would.
Those are so great!❤ 😂 Such a neat idea to print eyes
The one in the middle bottom looked like an olive
Maybe you could put air plants in them or something
They'd look like they were throwing up.
Cool idea!
Omg so cute if they were a bit bigger they'd be amazing candle tea light holders x

I named this one Marilynn lol
My wife didn't get that and didn't think anyone else would. I'm glad a couple people have.
Perfection
Can’t go wrong with googly eyes!
My fav types of rocks have naturally occurring holes like this!!
Should've given Marilyn some eyebrows!
I don't think they make googly eyebrows.

It would have to be a really tiny plant.
@MichiganRocks I put succulent starts in corks from wine bottles. Glue a magnet to it, I sell them for 7 dollars
What kind of laser is that?
Algolaser Delta with a 40 watt laser.

For being such a common Rock in your area, they sure go for a lot on ebay. I would make smoking pipes out of them, for use here in Colorado.
I didn't know anyone sold them. I don't plan to sell these.
@MichiganRocks $30 for 4 I believe.

How many people figured out why you named the rock "Marilyn" after Marilyn Monroe. Try putting some blue die or chalk in the laser grooves.
My wife didn't, but I thought someone would.
