Thanks for taking the time to do this review. It was surprising for a budget brand. And I wanted to let you know I absolutely love the background that you did on the bird picture
I have just watched both the Pagos reviews and would like to thank you for taking the time to give your honest opinion regarding these pencil. Great review and findings - Thank you
I value your opinion, anything that I have purchased from your recommendation has always been 👍🏼 great. I love the large selection of colors! Thank you Lindsay!
I surely do not need another art supply but I very much enjoy watching all your reviews! These look like a great value for those that aren’t creating a Monet masterpiece every time they work 😊 great and thorough review!
Thank You for sharing... I've had these in my stash for over a year and just now swatched them out. I agree with everything you said... very nice color lay down in the Mythographic Books!
Thanks very much Lindsay for both of these excellent reviews. I did order the combo pack and it makes sense for my supplies to have both. I value your expertise and honesty. I always use the affiliate link. You’re the best!
You still remind me of that little girl who sat next to me in 4th grade. Every thing she did in art class was so visually appealing and everyone marveled at her art. I, on the other hand produced “chicken-scratch” or so the nun used to say. Her excitement at art time was nauseating to me (LOL) but by the 8th grade I was producing the best. Thank you for you great reviews!
They seem like really nice pencils and a great color selection at a very nice price. I've been buying the girls Kimberly by General Pencil and they like those very much. The packaging isn't the greatest so I make sure they have pencil cases for them and I sure wish they had more color selections. (the Kimberly pencils are made in the USA though so that's a plus). Thanks, Lindsay...I might have to take a look at Pagos cuz that's an awfully nice price.
Lindsay - thanks for the Pagos watercolor pencil review. I follow your channel diligently - and only one I trust when it comes to a fair assessment of art materials. I would love to see a video that summarizes your favorites in all art mediums. If you already published a compilation - will you kindly provide the link? I've gone through most all of your vids and don't see a favorites compilation at this level. Thank you so much!
@@thefrugalcrafter - And I soaked up every minute of that video. Thank you for that. Would love to see similar for watercolor pencils, color pencils, etc. I highly respect your opinion - look forward to all your videos.
Thank you so much Lindsey for the review! If you had to choose from all the “cheaper watercolor pencils” you’ve tried, what would be your number 1 pick? 😊❤️
For under $30 these cant be beat but I think Arteza have an edge if you care to spend an extra $10, they have lightfast ratings and I feel they are more pigmented and will last longer.
Great reviews Lindsay, anyone that thinks you don't do honest reviews obviously hasn't watched your other reviews. Very few could I say that about. One question, where could I get empty pencil tins with the trays inside for a reasonable price? Hope I'm not too late for asking questions, I usually don't get to watch videos as soon as they're posted. Take care and God bless you and yours. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
Gosh, I think maybe an independent art store might have them if they broke up a set to refill an open stock case. Or maybe someone on ebay or etsy would sell empty tins. Manufacturers usually dont sell these
@@beckyb4074 oh I like yours too (cat). My mom used to work at goodwill, and she said she’d sort through empty Tins and put them out to sell all the time. I was thinking even if you had to buy the pencils that were inside still, it wouldn’t be that much because it is a thrift store and all. 💜
@@ShannonCoppers thanks, my Annie (cat) is 14 years old and very much a part of me. As soon as I get the chance to go to a local habitat for humanity shop, I'll look or ask for pencil tins or art pencils. Thanks again for your help. God bless. Becky B
PS I see you hassle with those wc pencil tins and instantly remember the wc palette tour, what gave Jason a really bad case of the giggles ( wich I found Hilarious btw ) can you do a similar tour on your wc pencils?
Hi there Lindsay, thank you for uploading your new reviews! Think this set would be perfect for my youngest daughter 😊 Please could you add a link to where we can get the stamp for the swatching page? Thank you xXx
Waffleflower also makes a color wheel stamp and die... I find it useful to make my own color wheel for specific products / mediums. It's a little expensive, I think around $40ish but if your daughter is really into art it might be worth it. If Lindsay's link is through Amazon, it should come up as a suggested item. If I understand links and Amazon's affiliate program correctly, Lindsay should get credit for both purchases.
Maybe silly question. But can you do a few winter landscapes in wc that are a bit longer? I was watching the autumn landscape you did last october I thought and I so enjoyed the bit longer but not to long paintalong. Even that beginne landscape done in a wintersetting would be so much fun. If you dont want to do it in a full painting size just do some in wc card size. Wich will be fun for the holidays. Im so having an inspiration flatline due to covid. That block really is the worst and I need a simple 3 or 4 color paintalong that gives me just that itch to get on it again.
Watercolor pencils generally need to be swatched, because the color when liquified then dried, is very different from the tips of the core. The amount of water will dillute or concentrate the color accordingly. I am not Lindsay, but I have let's of watercolor pencils, and I do think she did say this in the video.
Todos sus dibujos don hermosos en cualquier tecnica que use le quedan preciosos. Donde me recomienda comprar los colores, que sea de envio confiable, soy de Torreón Coahuila México, gracias
Don't know if you've done a vid on this and if so could you direct me to it... Videos on the quality of different grade of a product would be really helpful. You mentioned you would have different expectations based on the grade of the product (kids, student /craft, artist/professional) for example what would you expect from a good kid, student, and artist grades and what are the differences between the grades for that medium.... Obviously you do the videos how you chose but a seperate one on each medium (watercolor, pencil, pastel, acrylic etc) would be a great reference collection... It's easy to get confused in reviewes thinking a product is the bestest out there then see another review that says it's awful... Only to find out the reviewers were looking at it from a crafter vs artist perspective. Hope that all makes sense. I have no expectations but wanted to share this idea as I'm sure others would find it useful too. Always appreciate your reviews as you usually state what grade you think a product fits in and compare to other products in that grade etc. Hope you have a good holiday season!
Good idea! I also just realized that I have a lot of high end supplies I bought before I started TH-cam that I never reviewed that I probably should lol!
@@thefrugalcrafter thanks Lindsay! I watched the vid Natalie linked ... However, I'm specifically interested in the paintability / performance of the paint and quality of experience in painting between the grades. Actually, it might be fun to have someone set up a palette with some colors of each brand and lablel them 1.2.3. (Maybe a red, blue, and yellow from each grade?) Then you paint with them guessing which is what grade. Clearly that would require you to put yourself out there so I don't expect it, but I wouldn't suggest it if I didn't think you fearless enough to do it. (That's one of the reasons I enjoy watching you; if it's physically possible and I've a mind to do it, propriety doesn't matte and you seem to operate with that same freedom lol) I understand the value of artist grade due to knowledge of lightfastness etc cause artists have responsibility to the consumer, but I'm looking more for differences in the experience. Sorry for the book, just wanted to clarify what I was looking for.
@@pesto12601 thanks pesto12601! I understand the importance of that knowledge. If your selling your work, you have a responsibility to the consumer. I'm looking more for the quality of experience of the act of painting if that makes sense. I'm not an artist and don't sell anything so lightfastness isn't as important to me.
Love your reviews! Does anyone know if the nyoni watercolor pencils are good? There’s a sale for the 100 set but I can only really find reviews on the reg colored pencils :/
