Very good! I’ve always done my model building on a thick glass surface! Glue, paint, soldering drips, it all scrapes right off with a razor blade! Excellent for making temporary jigs on for gluing up small assemblies also! Seems like all the younger modelers work on those self healing cutting mats, but that looks problematic to me! My first glass work surface many years ago was a bulletproof caboose window!

I have such a cutting mat, works like a joy for cutting and glueing. It does absorb woodstain but lets off paint and soldering is a definite nono. I personally solder above a thick brass plate or the floor underneath my vice unintentionally ;). I'm using the brass plate as a material for projects as well so it's getting smaller and smaller. May need a more permanent solution.

Doesn't cutting on such surfaces score the glass and blunt your knife by the way?
