    Keegan and hamiti have wrestled in the Allstars classic before, I'm pretty sure keegan won by major if not it was a very one sided decision

      Very one sided decision. Had it been the 3 point takedown like how it is he would’ve majored him.

    Some comments. Spratley majored guy from ASU that won it all, so reasonable that he AA next year. Agree about Hughes. At 141, could have Jamison or Young. I think Carter Young goes 141. Who knows as he was stud in HS beating 2 national champs at freestyle tournament. Also, Jamison had pretty good year, beating Hardy at CK and Echemendia, both AA. Maybe injured at NCAAs, who knows. Williams is guy at 149, and last coaching staff viewed him with superstar upside. Came on late in year, but was somewhat injured at NCAAs. Travis was at 149 to start last year, but went up to 157 as hole there and coaches viewed Williams as next superstar. Give him year in weight room so he actually is a 157 pounder, he should be better. Surber sucks last year but was fighting injuries. Year before came close to AA losing close match to Cardenas who was AA. My point is the 4 guys you have not being AAs are a bit better than you give them credit for. My guess is one or two get to be AAs.

    In my opinion, if they get their best lineup possible. They have JJ McComas coming in as well so they could use him at 133 and bump Hughes to 141 since he missed weight at 133. But this is their HIGHEST potential placement.
    125: Troy Spratley (AA)
    133: Cael Hughes (AA)
    141: Carter Young (NQ)
    149: Jordan Williams (AA)
    157: Caleb Fish/Teague Travis
    165: Cam Amine (AA)
    174: Dean Hamiti (Finalist)
    184: Dustin Plott (Finalist)
    197: Cody Merrill (NQ)
    HWT: Wyat Hendrickson (AA)
    Top 5 NCAA placement. I think playing for the future is the better and smarter game. Not to mention you just gotta show that you improve one guy to an insane point, like Hamiti, Hendrickson, Plott, Amine, or Williams and you could potentially get a handful of transfers and commitments. Because Penn State in the next year or so has a serious problem. In which someone is going to HAVE to transfer.
    Levi Haines, Mitchell Mesenbrink, Joe Sealey, PJ Duke, Alex Facundo, Josh Barr, and Zack Ryder. Every last one of these guys are 157-184, the fact ALL of these guys are freshman-sophomore is a huge issue. Haines is a junior but still has a redshirt. Then a few of them no longer have a redshirt, like Mesenbrink and Barr. Not to mention according to Carter Starocci Tyler Kasak is unable to make weight at 149 so he’s a 157 pounder which just adds to the blockage. Two of these guys are going to have to transfer and what better place to go than OSU with DT?
    Haines and Kasak are DT guys, so picking those two up would be MASSIVE. Haines at 165, Kasak at 157, Williams 149… etc…

    I don't want to see this, but DT should red shirt all the athletes he can and set himself up for the next season. He will never get the chance again to have a "pass" season. I think they could get a trophy this year, but if they invest a year they could be aiming for a second place trophy the next season!

      VT is looking good the next few years. But I’m a Cornell and Penn State guy so we gotta talk about Cornell as well, because they’re really under the radar 😅. Not this upcoming season but next season for Cornell is going to be an insane roster/pick up.
      With Anthony Knox 125, Brett Ungar 133, Sergio Vega 141, Jaxon Joy 149, Meyer Spahiro 157, Zahir McLean 165/174, Mike Dellagata 184/197 and probably missing a few but that’s a stacked lineup.

    Williams beat Swiderski and he ran away a good portion of that match. If David Taylor changes the kids mentality and sharpens it. He definitely has the potential to be an AA level guy. Carter Young, while good, can’t see him AA with the likes of Caleb Henson, Ridge Lovett, Ty Watter, Shane Van Ness, Kyle Parco, and loads of other guys.
    Amine could def AA under DT, I don’t think he takes higher than 4th next year. Cause as you said his style and David Taylor’s styles are two different things. But with how offensive DT is he can definitely pick up a thing or two and break through the podium.
    Hamiti, most definitely can AA. With the likes of Starocci gone but O’Toole coming in. Then the fact the highest returner is a true sophomore with no offense (great wrestler nonetheless) I could see him taking top 3 easily. And I think as you said HE’LL THRIVE near David Taylor. I wouldn’t be surprised if he isn’t a finalist. Only reason Keegan O’Toole gassed is because of the weight cutting. Keegan almost Majored Hamiti with the 2 point take down. I think him going up is doing him justice.
    Plott is an AA level guy.
    If Levi Haines, Keegan O’Toole, Dean Hamiti, Gabe Arnold, and Rocco Welsh all go 174. I can see Dean Hamiti beating ANYONE of these guys besides O’Toole.

    • @dangerpowers4582
      @dangerpowers4582 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can honestly see Hamiti beating O'Toole because he stayed stagnant at Wisconsin, and with David Taylor to help him, he will jump levels. A redshirt would be a great choice for him, honestly, because O'Toole will be gone by the 25-26 season, but Hamiti isn't a guy that dodges competition. I really wish Hamiti had gone to a better school than Wisconsin. Wisconsin didn't deserve him. When Hamiti wrestled at Midlands in 2021, he destroyed some great competition, so I thought he was going to be a 2-timer at the very least.

    • @xzjayz7925
      @xzjayz7925 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dangerpowers4582 Coming into college thought Hamiti was going to be at least a one-time national champion (I was expecting him to progress.) But I don’t mean this in the literal sense of the word. He was a bit of a letdown. I agree, I wish he would’ve chosen a different school. I mean, had he gone OSU from the start I think he could’ve been a finalist. I also think he needs to just be smart and redshirt. Because once he redshirts his biggest comp is going to be Rocco Welsh, Gabe Arnold, and Levi Haines. With a year or two under DT, I think he beats everyone there.

    • @dangerpowers4582
      @dangerpowers4582 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @xzjayz7925 Well said. I was really hoping he would redshirt last season so he could gain more muscle so he could go 174. Because I'm an Illinoisian, I want to see Hamiti win a national title more than anyone. Joliet Catholic - Dean's high school - is a powerhouse. They have a heavyweight named Dillan Johnson who committed to Wisconsin for football and wrestling, and I hope he transfers as well. Braxton Amos was the number 1 recruit in his class, and he hasn't even AA'd yet.
