MANUAL HAY BALER

- An easy DIY project for anyone, who owns a few squaremeter (squarefeet) of owergrown grass. Made it out of 4 pieces of 150 x 4000 mm freshly purchased lumber, a few pieces of left-over acacia boards and a slavaged (broken) snath. Rough measurements at 01:04 (in cm (mm /10)), I don't and didn't have a plan, I just figured it out during the process.
I like to use old fashined scythe to do moving around my property. I'm just tired of the sound of modern whipper snippers and respect how my ancestors made hay for their animals. Also I didn't want to waste a lot of good forage. The best way to store hay in small spaces is making small square bales...

Whaaaaat! I totally expected the compression mechanism to be way more complex. I was anticipating some type of spring loaded thing. You made this look totally doable! Thank you!!
The needs of the coming future. Thanks for reviving the lost arts.
I like the upright bale design. helps for compression and unloading. Sweet!
"stay home keep making" i like that
So inspiring to see a man working, that thrilling soundtrack, I would love to make, do, create, also in harmony with the nature, thankful for learning opportunities, though all lot times I don't have enough energy, doubting or catch cold easy (idea of a strawbale building seems far away, have to consider what I can/can't, need to plan whats going to happen when it gets colder), still inspiring to watch smth like this, just 1 guy
I've seen those done before. I love the simplicity of it. I believe I'll stick with my PTO/tractor powered unit for now. Great job. God bless.
I love it. Have been looking at small scale hay production for our chickens and guinea pigs. Don't need much but finding a small amount for a reasonable price is becoming difficult.
Amazing ...very well presented. Thank you ,Sir.
Tip top danke für das Video und die Anleitung zum Bauen der Heuballenpresse.
That’s one the coolest things I’ve see man well done brother
Nice work
Très très simple et efficace,.du bon travail.merci
thanks for great idea and have izzy work
Great job 👍🏻 👏 👍🏻
Great channel 👍🏻 👏 👍🏻
I think I saw an antique version on that show “The Repair Shop”. Nice job.
Sweet design! The only question I have is if you feel like you have enough leverage?
Bravo!
Hi Many thanks for this video looking into hand making hay on smaller area where we keep our horses. I’m already into using a scythe!
Super top 👍🏼
Hard work bro.. Good job.. 👍👍
simple is great
Cool!
Nagyon király:) köszi hogy beleraktad a tervet is, tuti neki állok én is valamelyik nap:)
instablaster
SUPER !!!
Thanks
genius
Maybe a much longer lever gives more compressed bales, save much storage space
Feel like that handle is too short. It will require extra energy to pull down. The longer it is, the less effort expended
Then use a cheater bar. Length can always be added.
Cool
Great work! Though I did find it slightly ironic that most of the video you were working with power tools only to end up making a hand tool.
Slappy hay baler.
parabéns chique de mais
Красавчик!👍👍👍
Alors là, je dis bravo.
great, but should have that ramer with a longer reach and ram after about 10 inches layering and ramming as you go.
Someone needs to do this but with a hydraulic log splitter ram and small engine or electric pump.
Do you have plans for this? Looks great and would be perfect on a small farm like ours!
Check out the description! Thanks for watching!
where'd you get that music....
Awesome stuff can you make a video on how to make a syethc
Thank you! Yes, when I'll have enough time to make one.
😊
é a besta fera, cuidado com a cobra doido
How long did you allow the grass to stay out side after cutting before taking it inside?
How much would you sell one of those for?
Great video! Thanks 😊.. I am impressed that you got that many bails from the area you cut... So did one row give you that many or the whole area?
Thanks! Yes, it's more than one row
Wondering.. Is that bracihiaria humidicola?
Quiero ver la cortadora como ensamblar el machete en el mango
What grass name sir?
Hi Mark, What is the name of the cutting tool you are using? Please let me know
Können Sie bitte die Bau Anleitung reinmachen?
Awesome video! How do you go about peening your scythe? I have been trying to figure it out but I think I’m missing something.
Something like it was made for baling tobacco
Pode dar as medidas exatas ?
Bonjour, pourriez vous me donner les dimensions de vôtre boite? Longueur. Largeur, hauteur et épaisseur des planches. Merci
Клас
What do you use to record your videos?
Nikon D3200
How longs is the bale?
around 800 mm
How long does it take to get one bale with this setup?
around 4-5 minutes
The next question: how much do they weigh? Are you getting value for the effort? None of my customers like light hay bales...even price adjusted...loose bales tend to fall apart, if not carefully handled.

Do you think you could speed up a little or is that the average time you're trying to stick to?
any chance of sendind plans so I can build one over here in New Zealand please
I don’t have those tools 🥲
Saw at you at Ken's Maple Leaf Forge. Ok, i love low tech that works everytime...so I love your channel. We have some videos you would like check us out
Thank you! Have you seen any shoutout from him?
Crap....I fell asleep for 3 minutes 😴...when did the world END?
A esa velocidad haces un fardo x mes, con suerte, dedicate a otra cosa 😂
I wouldn't be showing off those bales. They look very loose.
and in just three hours you have a bail that won't last 30 seconds lol
At least he has a bale.
Lol
Guess that depends on what you're feeding
I mean I make bales with a large plastic tote and my feet and they last a year so I’m sure these last just as long
My grandfather has used one of these for over 50 yrs, still going strong.
Que droga, assistindo um vídeo muito interessante entra um comercial irritante. Dei um dislike e gravei o canal para não assistir nunca mais.
