@@Hathenbrucksteelworkswebsite says 6.5” length. That how you’re using them? Seems long for a good forge weld… but halving down to 3.25” seems short

@shauntheknifeguy does it really? I wonder if they changed them. I’ll have to measure the ones I got again, but I’m almost positive I got 6”.

A 1.5x48x1/8 15n20 is 32$ on there site. So two sticks is 64$. They aren’t gonna do more work and charge less.

I think you’re looking at the hot rolled price. I’m
Not sure if you’ve ever had to clean up hot rolled steel, but it completely sucks.
Also, the shipping on two 48” piece of steel is going to be significantly more than a small bundle.

I never bought from Nj before everytime I priced it out Pops beat them enough for me to stay with them. These packs might make a diffrence though especially with the pre-cleaning and cutting. How much did they get you on delivery? Thats was always a factor between Pops and them. Also thanks for the video.

I appreciate this info. I recently got some 26C3 from Pop, because it’s a killer price there. The shipping was $27.28. I think because they’re short bundles, the shipping price becomes very reasonable.

not relevant to me here in the UIK but surely it is cheaper to buy suitable lengths and ma;e your own kit up? Mind I usually use scrap steel anyway, springs, farm machinery bite etc

There are a lot of options here and everyone has their own favorite supplier, but as far as NJSB goes, this is definitely the way to go for buying steel solely for Damascus. Thanks a ton, Andy.

Shiping wise its best to buy 12 inch cuts as it has the cheapest shipping cost.

The shipping on these was the cheapest I’ve ever seen from NJSB.

@Anderson-HandForged 26C3 is my go to for cutlery now. When I’m feeling really frisky, I go with Shirogami.
