With regards to Virgin Killer original album art, I'm happy they sell an alternative cover. Personally, no matter the actual message of the title track is actually about, I find the origal cover to be explosive and repulsive. It was only made to cause controversy and attention to the album. I think the album title is enough to draw attention to the album, they didn't need nude 10 year old girl on the cover.
I didn't heard many songs by Scorpions yet, but damn, Sails of Charon and We'll Burn The Sky are divine. The more recent Roth's version of SoC is even better.

I saw the Scorpions at the Monsters of Rock festival too. They definitely stole the show, so much energy. Savage Amusement is my favorite album and I really like Face The Heat and of course Love at First Sting and Blackout.

I really need to listen to more Scorpions, I’ve only really listened to their 70s stuff but I love almost all of that! Great video! I'll second your view that Savage Amusement is unfairly maligned--I came on board with that one, the video for Rhythm of Love got a lot of airplay and I thought it was a killer song! I picked up the Best of Rockers and Ballads comp shortly afterwards, and the rest is history!

To me, the Scorps were 3 bands in one back in their prime (70s/80s). The 1st 5 in my Top Ten overall are one version (Uli-era with the Proto-Metal sound), the bottom five of my top 10 represent their more "commercial melodic hard rock" sound with while my 2nd top 10 below represents their amazing Ballads that are so magical! And this is coming from a major metalhead!

Very nice. Monsters of Rock was the first time I saw the Scorps as well. As much as I loved Metallica then, the Scorps really stole the show.
Cool video, I thought it was interesting that you and your dad had mostly different top 10s. I really need to listen to more Scorpions, I’ve only really listened to their 70s stuff but I love almost all of that! Not going to even bother trying to narrow down my 10 favourite songs even from just that selection. I’ll definitely have to check out their 80s stuff soon.

Great video! I'll second your view that Savage Amusement is unfairly maligned--I came on board with that one, the video for Rhythm of Love got a lot of airplay and I thought it was a killer song! I picked up the Best of Rockers and Ballads comp shortly afterwards, and the rest is history!

You listen to any of the more recent stuff? Humanity and The Good Die Young are friggen awesome! I was at the Denver Monsters of Rock in 88, the Scorpions had the cleanest live sound I have ever heard. Hell of a show!

This is cool to watch cuz I'm in your Dad's age range. My sons are 18 and 21, and they both like the metal and classic rock/metal like me.
Even though I've had many differing opinions than you, I think it's fantastic how much you know of this music at your age, and it appears your dad is a huge influence on that.
My sons are currently(well, pre-Covid) my concert buddies. I assume you guys are as well. I just totally dig seeing you guys do this together.
