Some even have a different position placed at like TEN who is Main dancer and Rapper initially (his debut in the 7th sense) , but as his talent progressed he is now one of the main vocals in WayV. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos which were originally released leading up to the release of "Jopping.") So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXO's storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc. And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM. Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight. Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that SM's girl group Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now maybe even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of SM's new girl group aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine. And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans. I think SuperM was SM's way of showing us that from now on we need to pay attention because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers. If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV is also part of that story.
To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. (X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones) If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force. So, on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work (and possibly -- but not 100% sold on the idea -- even eventually SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. So who knows, when SHINee comes back maybe SM will draw them into the storyline as well.)
Mark actually joined SM as a vocalist! He learned to rap while training at the Company and they keep giving him rap parts because of his skills. Taeyong just raps (but can sing and does sometimes). Ten sings mostly but debuted with rapping (he was an artist in Thailand as a teen) but he's an all rounder. Barkhyun sings. Lucas is only a rapper. Kai can sing and rap a bit. Taemin, from the group SHINEe but also a MASSIVELY accomplished solo artist, sings. Taemin, Ten and Kai are some of the best dancers in all of Kpop while the other members all fall into the dance lines of their groups ( except Baekhyn, but he apparently learns choreography the fastest.).

Saw them in concert a year ago. Baekhyun was having problems with his mic for the high note. He sang that note so high and loud, he didn’t need the mic! When he’s not with EXO or EXO-CBX, he’s a top-selling solo artist. This is their title track of their self-titled debut extended play 1st mini album and according to the lyrics, the title’s a combination of the words jumping + popping = jopping and the “M” stands for Matrix/Master. *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai are the only ones who seem to display their superpowers of teleportation & light.* The song was produced by an english duo of a British Production called LDN Noise who’s also worked on many different tracks for groups; such as: SHINee, EXO, NCT and WayV. Somehow, however it was leaked on Oct 1st 2019 through Weibo, which spread to TH-cam & Twitter where requests for take down were immediately issued. The music video displays Taemin on a motorcycle, Mark & Taeyong in cars, Ten & Lucas with a tank, Kai and Baekhyun with a helicopter. They are the Kpop Avengers (Superheroes of Kpop); *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai seem to be the only ones that actually display their superpowers of teleportation and light.* The one thing I really isn’t a big fan of is how our guys have to be forced to compensate for most of the western audience to do their best in singing & rapping in english knowing some of them aren’t fluent in english which is probably why they had to highlight/autotune abit more of some of the members voices but they all killed it in my book (You still need to read subs because it’s not 100% in english). This MV was shot in Dubai, and really high budget, as SM targets the US market and as Super M was labeled as the Avengers of Kpop. And Super M's songs mostly are in english. And if not mistaken, CMIIW, Super M is, at the moment, the only korean group that literally start their debut in US soil. They debuted in Oct 2019, and before the pandemic started, they had their share of concerts in the US.

I get the movie soundtrack likeness because they’re marketed as “The Avengers of K-Pop”, hence, everything is so cinematic. SM and Capitol truly spent $$$ on this project group (SuperM). Fun fact that no one asked for: I got to meet them when they did a mini-music store tour here in Southern California and they’re the last act I got to see in concert last year (February 1) pre-pandemic and they’re individually and collectively amazing live :)

This song is pretty epic but I felt the same way as you when I first heard it. This group was formed mainly to target the U.S. market and they debuted in Los Angeles with a huge event at Capitol Records. They have a deal with Marvel and had the members drawn as characters - even commissioned a famous comic book artist (Kim Junggi) to create artwork for them. Their song 100 was played as an intro for the World Series, too. You should check out Tiger Inside next. I'm more fond of their B-sides as they seem to choose pretty epic movie-sounding songs for their title track.

i don't think people told you this but SuperM makes more sense when you already know each and every single individual in the group. it's like 7 masters coming together bruh they were put together because each of them excels in their abilities. kai (exo), taemin (shinee) and ten (wayv) are dance masters, mark and taeyong (both from nct) are rap masters, baekhyun (exo) is a vocal master and lucas (wayv) is an overall great center that balances out the team. try checking out their solo stuff first, get familiar with them and then come back to watch SuperM again. you'll definitely appreciate them more. no need to react, but you can start with the SuperM individual teasers! 😁 edit: they all are obviously great at everything, but they were put in the this group for those abilities that i mentioned. 3 dancers, 2 rappers, 1 main vocal and 1 center/visual would be the closest we have to a standard formation of a kpop group. it's the absolute perfect combination!

Okay here goes the long explanatory comment. So SuperM is the Avengers of kpop (quite literally knowing how they actually collaborated with Marvel). They're the avengers because they're combined of some of the best members of their respective groups, coming together, making this group super. Their market focus is for the West, and they're signed under The Capitol label, so you'll find that a lot of their songs will be fully in english. Now people might fight me with this, but the members are actually the ACEs of their groups. -From Exo you got Baekhyun (the high hitting note guy) who's a million seller solo artist in korea (the first in more than a decade i believe), and then you got Kai (the one in the heli) who's a very very respected kpop artist, and the idols of other kpop artists, also the main dancer of Exo -From NCT you got Taeyong and Mark, who's obviously the main rapper of nct. Not only that but i think people will agree with me when i say that they're the best rapper among all SM artists -From WayV we got Ten who's not only the top 3 best dancer in nct along with Taeyong and Mark (according to nct's choreographer), but also honey voiced vocalists. And Lucas is the visual, rapper, dancer and I can say he's one of the most popular members of nct/wayv ensemble. -From Shinee you got Taemin (who dances like MJ in the middle of the dessert), who's probably one of the most popular kpop soloists right now. His dances is so distinct and his voice is amazing too So yes. You got the best of the groups, coming together becoming the avengers of kpop. The stadium/coliseum scenes were all filmed in Korea on a soundstage. But all the outdoor scenes were filmed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. So, the desert and that cityscape were all real places in Dubai. You also will see that all of those vehicles are real, but they did not drive them themselves, they were drove by stunt people. Fun tidbit. The guys are grouped by their vehicles and group. WayV in the tank, Nct 127 in super cars, EXO in the helicopter, and Taemin our only SHINee is the only one on a motorcycle. And as he’s the longest debuted it was neat that they had him leading in NCT who are the newest. The coloured floating lights at the end of the video where they are “in” the coliseum are the colours of each of the component groups. Green for NCT, Pearl Aqua for SHINee and white/beige for EXO. SuperMs colour is pink the same as SM. I have seen this performed live and yes Baekhyun does hold that note like that even live.

As for your question on their role in the group (officially called Position) they are all trained in dance, vocals and rap but they are eventually focused in what they are best at for their debut. Some even have a different position placed at like TEN who is Main dancer and Rapper initially (his debut in the 7th sense) , but as his talent progressed he is now one of the main vocals in WayV. Most of them do vocals but those are seen most on bside tracks as they tend to play their strengths on the title tracks.

Baekhyun has been chosen as the leader of SuperM. (Baekhyun is also the oldest member at 28 and Mark is the youngest at 21) However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 27 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. So, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
It is said that the concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so, I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group, just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. The members of EXO are all aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM member (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser videos which were originally released leading up to the release of "Jopping.") So I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXO's storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop them from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM.
Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking the "best" members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
Some fans who are into SM group theories have also speculated that NCT's dream concept and storyline also connects to EXO's storyline, just like how many believe that Red Velvet is connected to EXO's storyline -- it is believed that SM's girl group Red Velvet, EXO's sister group, may be the Red Force. I think that SM may even have set it up so that at least all of their third generation groups -- and now maybe even fourth gen. groups, with the introduction of SM's new girl group aespa -- have storylines that connect, link together and intertwine.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs was called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
I think SuperM was SM's way of showing us that from now on we need to pay attention because all of its groups' MVs are somehow connected. SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV is also part of that story.
To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO. (X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones) If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force.
So, on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa, and maybe even Taemin's solo work (and possibly -- but not 100% sold on the idea -- even eventually SHINee, even though they are technically 2nd generation. Even though SHINee are second gen, they actually fit within the age group of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen. So who knows, when SHINee comes back maybe SM will draw them into the storyline as well.)

Saw them in concert a year ago. Baekhyun was having problems with his mic for the high note. He sang that note so high and loud, he didn’t need the mic! When he’s not with EXO or EXO-CBX, he’s a top-selling solo artist. This is their title track of their self-titled debut extended play 1st mini album and according to the lyrics, the title’s a combination of the words jumping + popping = jopping and the “M” stands for Matrix/Master. *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai are the only ones who seem to display their superpowers of teleportation & light.* The song was produced by an english duo of a British Production called LDN Noise who’s also worked on many different tracks for groups; such as: SHINee, EXO, NCT and WayV. Somehow, however it was leaked on Oct 1st 2019 through Weibo, which spread to TH-cam & Twitter where requests for take down were immediately issued. The music video displays Taemin on a motorcycle, Mark & Taeyong in cars, Ten & Lucas with a tank, Kai and Baekhyun with a helicopter. They are the Kpop Avengers (Superheroes of Kpop); *From what I could see in the MV, Baekhyun & Kai seem to be the only ones that actually display their superpowers of teleportation and light.* The one thing I really isn’t a big fan of is how our guys have to be forced to compensate for most of the western audience to do their best in singing & rapping in english knowing some of them aren’t fluent in english which is probably why they had to highlight/autotune abit more of some of the members voices but they all killed it in my book (You still need to read subs because it’s not 100% in english). This MV was shot in Dubai, and really high budget, as SM targets the US market and as Super M was labeled as the Avengers of Kpop. And Super M's songs mostly are in english. And if not mistaken, CMIIW, Super M is, at the moment, the only korean group that literally start their debut in US soil. They debuted in Oct 2019, and before the pandemic started, they had their share of concerts in the US.
LOL @ the “I’m today years old” moment! Y’all have seen everyone BUT one member before (the one with the lightest hair). I get the movie soundtrack likeness because they’re marketed as “The Avengers of K-Pop”, hence, everything is so cinematic. SM and Capitol truly spent $$$ on this project group (SuperM).
Fun fact that no one asked for: I got to meet them when they did a mini-music store tour here in Southern California and they’re the last act I got to see in concert last year (February 1) pre-pandemic and they’re individually and collectively amazing live :)

This song is pretty epic but I felt the same way as you when I first heard it. This group was formed mainly to target the U.S. market and they debuted in Los Angeles with a huge event at Capitol Records. They have a deal with Marvel and had the members drawn as characters - even commissioned a famous comic book artist (Kim Junggi) to create artwork for them. Their song 100 was played as an intro for the World Series, too.
You should check out Tiger Inside next. I'm more fond of their B-sides as they seem to choose pretty epic movie-sounding songs for their title track.

i don't think people told you this but SuperM makes more sense when you already know each and every single individual in the group. it's like 7 masters coming together bruh they were put together because each of them excels in their abilities. kai (exo), taemin (shinee) and ten (wayv) are dance masters, mark and taeyong (both from nct) are rap masters, baekhyun (exo) is a vocal master and lucas (wayv) is an overall great center that balances out the team. try checking out their solo stuff first, get familiar with them and then come back to watch SuperM again. you'll definitely appreciate them more. no need to react, but you can start with the SuperM individual teasers! 😁

Okay here goes the long explanatory comment. So SuperM is the Avengers of kpop (quite literally knowing how they actually collaborated with Marvel). They're the avengers because they're combined of some of the best members of their respective groups, coming together, making this group super. Their market focus is for the West, and they're signed under The Capitol label, so you'll find that a lot of their songs will be fully in english. Now people might fight me with this, but the members are actually the ACEs of their groups.
-From Exo you got Baekhyun (the high hitting note guy) who's a million seller solo artist in korea (the first in more than a decade i believe), and then you got Kai (the one in the heli) who's a very very respected kpop artist, and the idols of other kpop artists, also the main dancer of Exo
-From NCT you got Taeyong and Mark, who's obviously the main rapper of nct. Not only that but i think people will agree with me when i say that they're the best rapper among all SM artists
-From WayV we got Ten who's not only the top 3 best dancer in nct along with Taeyong and Mark (according to nct's choreographer), but also honey voiced vocalists. And Lucas is the visual, rapper, dancer and I can say he's one of the most popular members of nct/wayv ensemble.

The stadium/coliseum scenes were all filmed in Korea on a soundstage. But all the outdoor scenes were filmed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. So, the desert and that cityscape were all real places in Dubai. You also will see that all of those vehicles are real, but they did not drive them themselves, they were drove by stunt people.
