- In this video, we continue building this stunning RC Truck model. I say model because with this much detail, it’s basically is a model that you can drive. After losing momentum and putting it off for a while, I finally get back in the saddle and push on to get this one done. Now we start the massive painting part of the project. With so many parts that need attention, it’s going to be a challenge.

looking good Gav, should get a bottle of Canopy Glue or Humbrol/Revell Clear Fix glue for clear parts.
Comes togheter real nice, and yes it´s true...trucks are a neverending story, there is always something you can mod or add or rebuild and so on.

I’m really enjoying watching your video on this truck, I’ve just finished building my own and it genuinely took me nearly 3 weeks to get the build and painting and final finish done.. it looks amazing but the amount of work involved is outrageous! I havent fitted a light/sound kit yet as the expense of the truck covered my Xmas budget but I’ve since learned that I’m going to have to possibly dismantle mine to fit everything! The joys! Looking forward to seeing yours finished and also your content is awesome! 👍

As you said,A RC truck is always a work in progress and will have challenges i can give you a REAL challenge. Build the Volvo FH 16 Wrecker with the 4 axles. Then we you finaly build it wait 2 years and start converting it to a Heavy load tractor with a Fury Bear 2 plus 5 axles deeploader,all with steering axles.I am not in my 2th year of that and for 75% done. But it will be a beauty. Not to much bling bling on it, And that Mercedes is looking good so far. In the UK there are a few huge RC truck clubs,visit them and you will see jawdropping Rc Trucks.
Hi Gavin, nice Mercedes Benz Actros. It’s coming along nicely now. I too am building a truck with the MFC-03 unit too. I’m doing the Scania R620. I’m up to step 39 the wheels. I have done the spraying of the body panels, just got the detailing of the body panels to do, but as you’ve said, this is a long build, with lots of smaller pieces and intricate steps involving painting small pieces, before gluing ( carefully ) into place. I’m doing mine in the Mica Red, box art. It’s taken 3 cans of the Tamiya colour. Wish I’d used the Halfords paint now, due to the cost of Tamiya paint. Got the rear lights done too, I’ve manufactured my own set of reverse lights. Got to do some cable management as well. Enjoying the challenge of this great truck and the Tamiya manual is superb as usual. Take care, all the best 😉😊😉
Yep I think you hit the nail on the head with these trucks John. It's a long detailed build that just can't be rushed. So many small parts that need painting before you can fit them. Post some pics on the RCKicks Facebook group if you're a member as I'm sure people would love to see it.

Being a rc truck guy to, your friends is right they never are done you always find something new to do to them and you'll love it trust me just a heads-up they are kind of quick for them selves so they are easy to roll and the steering is kind of lose so dive slow and easy

When painting your metallic's try using a gloss black undercoat brings them out loads better .

Awesome build but wont it be easier to paint the red first then the black?
I don’t think it’s much different as I did think about it before painting. The only plus I could see was, touching up the black from red overspray would be easier than touching up red from black.

Yep that went out the window when I found a picture of the red truck in the video. The F1 Benz trucks are just not that exciting.

Silly question, but why are you showing the Mercedes Arocs when you're building the Mercedes Actros?
It’s the inspiration for the colour I’m going to paint mine. When it’s finished I’ll take some images of it and then go back and update the build thumbnails.
