      They can be, but so much fun. I grew up with a little 15ft Bonita and it was enough to tube, ski, and of course fishing. I'm 56 now, and doubt Ill own one before I die, lol. The memories were worth it for my dad and us kids ❤ We were NOT rich, lol. A lot of it is doing due diligence and taking care of regular maintenance.

    I had a mechanic I used for years for my vehicles and his shop was 2 miles from my office. I lived 25 miles away. I needed work done on my daughter's car and her good friends dad had a shop in town. Against better judgement I took it to him. He said it would be $600. I said ok. Then It went to $1,500, said okay what do you do? Ended up being $3,200. I could have gotten a new engine by my mechanic. Never ever did I not take my cars back to my mechanic and was with him for 27 years and he never ever ripped me off and if it was over $300 he'd always call and tell me what it was. You live and learn. Yep taking it to another mechanic I felt like I was having an affair and running around on him. LOL

      Having a good mechanic is something to not take for granted.
      5 years ago I dated a guy who lived an hour away. At 8pm one night on my way to his house, I got a flat tire. I pulled into the closest gas station, got the jack and spare out of the trunk and jacked the car up just before the tire lifted off the ground. Went to loosen the lug nuts and they were so tight, even jumping on the lug wrench would make it budge.
      A man in a U-haul was at the gas pump and saw me struggling on the side of the parking lot. He walked over and asked if he could help. I was so appreciative!! As he was working on my tire, his wife and kids were in the u haul and had just got done moving all day. They were topping off the gas tank and returning the u haul rental and going home for the night. His family was so sweet and patient as they waited on Dad to finish up.
      Once he was done swapping tires, he asked where I was from, assuming I was heading home, he wanted to make sure I didn't have a far drive. In conversation, it turns out he has a car shop less than 5 miles from my house. He wouldn't take any money for helping me. I've been taking my car to him for 5 years and he's never done me wrong.
      I just went to get my car inspected in October and when I texted him, he said he had to sell the business in his divorce. I was so sad. He ended up getting a job at another stop that's about 15 miles away. I took my car to the new shop he works at. I'll go to him until he retires.

    DO NOT OWN A BOAT UNLESS YOU ARE RICH ENOUGH TO REPAIR THE CONSTANT PROBLEMS

  • @kimberlyadorno280
    @kimberlyadorno280 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The boatyard I worked for had 3 customer reps/ salesmen who were assigned to any customer bringing their boat in for repair, winterizing, and/or storage. The reps were responsible for direct contact and authorization from customers. Even if the customer didn't request a quote (many customers were filthy rich and wouldn't bat an eye for some outrageous prices) the reps would contact them by phone and request confirmation via email (if the customer wasn't present to physically sign the work order). The defendant's business should incorporate a practice similar to what my former employer had in place to avoid disputes like this.

    Usually, you get an estimate and if you agree on the price of the repairs then sign. It protects both sides the mechanic and the customer. If you don't agree on the price then the car and keys go back to the owner it's just that simple.
