  • Looking to replace your Honda emblems with a more personalized color? Considering removing your Honda emblem, but don't know how? Maybe you're thinking about plasti-dip for your emblems? You're not alone - I have as well, and I'm going to see which one of these, emblem removal and replacement, plasti dip the emblem, or vinyl wrap emblem is right for our project car, the 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring. A great cosmetic mod to personalize your 10th Gen Honda Accord (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Honda Accord). In this video, I'm going to try my hand and learn how to apply PLASTI DIP to the Honda rear H emblem, Accord emblem, and 2.0 Touring emblem. Find out how easy / or hard it is to use Plasti-Dip as a chrome delete and cheap modification on your project car. I do NOT have experience working with Plasti-Dip, but this video will go through the steps that I followed, and my lessons learned. Hopefully this information will help you decide if you'd like to try using Plasti-Dip on your Honda emblems yourself.

To make masking off easier, I used a plastic painters drop cloth and just draped it over the entire trunk and rear bumper area and then just tore out the areas where the emblems are and taped it down. It worked great and provided complete overspray protection. I did my accord back in April and it turned out perfect.

One thing that will help eliminate texture is to put the plasti dip in a bucket of hot water to warm it up before you spray. It definitely helps it lay down better.

I used Hyperdip Piano Gloss black for my emblems. More expensive than the plastidip, but the finish is amazing. Nice shine and doesn't require glossifier.

I live in Michigan, and have used PlastiDip on my door handles, badges and lift gate handle. I had to redo my driver's door, but the rest are fine except for a slight 'dulling' or fading. I initially applied it in 2017, so well worth the money. If you don't like it, just peel it off. I believe I used 7 coats (no glossifier). Overspray is not difficult to remove, but additional masking is the way to go.

@@TheLemonFactor It turned out great. I only decided to plasti-dip the Accord emblem because I decided to go with a plastic cover for the H logo. I did this because I could get it in carbon fiber which matches the rest of my carbon fiber mods, and it is sort of a longer term and easier solution then plasti-dip. I have seen people just take these off with a pry tool. I would think it would be way safer to just take it off before you paint it. Ruining the paintjob on your car could potentially cost like... a lot

    • @TheLemonFactor

The Plast-Dip will not ruin your paint if you accidentally get some on it. If it happens, it will come right of with something like a clay bar, or even from rubbing with your finger. 👍

I put plastidip on my rims and they have lasted 3 years now no damage. I sold the car to a Toyota dealership and even they did not peel it off they probably think it paint. They fade if u dont wash the right way with a rag or sponge because stuff will stick to the texture dimples especially on wheels once cured u can use a soft brush to scrub. The emblems will never have that issue so should be easy to maintain
