Can i just suggest that you drop the odd interviewing style and voice. Itd be better if you just be yourself and have a conversation with the guy. Thats just my 2 cents
Couldn't agree more with OP. And if he's being awkward 'on purpose' and intentionally fucking with this guy -- then that's even worse, since he's just awkward at trolling. lol
As a person who plays Galaga as often as possible, these tips are spot on. There were quite a bit of tricks that I didn't know about. I'm defiantly gonna try to beat my 150,000 score with some of these new tips. Really excited for the next episode!
On the 1st, 2nd, and I believe either 5th or 10th level if you kill all the aliens except for the bottom two on the far right and allow them to just swoop down on you after about 5 or 10 minutes they will stop shooting on you after that you shoot them and for the rest of your game no enemies will shoot at you making it much easier to last forever.
I know I'm late to this comment but if you're still there, what would you say your average is per game? I'm trying to get a feel of where I'm at. I know I have a loooong way to go, but I usually average about 200k with my all time best 260k (give or take, depends how I do on the challenge stages lol)
We get asked a lot why some obvious tips aren't mentioned in the video, that's because to us & Mike, those were already widely known and we didn't feel they were worth mentioning or repeating. These tips are primarily from Mike, as he was asked to come up with them, he might've left them out on purpose as he may not have wanted to spill all the secrets, obvious or otherwise.
This is a good point. I would personally do a bit of both, I kind of hit a wall once I started using the Galaga and 2 reds strategy. With that accuracy is key, BUT if you're focusing on that too much, you'll make stupid beginner mistakes. I personally do the Galaga and 2 reds strategy until I can't comfortably do it anymore, then switch to just trying to survive as long as possible and whenever a see a possible shot that's worth more points I take it, I'm just not going to go out of my way as much like I would just starting the game when there's not as much crap flying at you. Also, after level 17-20 ish, is where you can really start racking up points with the three bonus enemies, and the challenge stages usually will give you 2k or 3k per enemy line, PLUS an extra 10k if you get all perfects. I've done all of the different challenge stages, and I don't know why but the stage 11 one (3rd C. Stage) is so damn difficult! So if you're topping out at around 200k points or so and are around LV 17-20, don't get discouraged!! Keep going!! You're right at that cusp where you can really start raking in points! TL;DR: Git Gud.
What a game and what a player. Not even the clunky, awkward production can hide Galaga man’s deep skill level at this
Those patterns look very familiar.. it was like looking back in the past the way I used to play

I think he's just being ironic. And I think its GORF in the background. That game is awesome.
Ya I’m thinking it’s deliberate for entertainment value. Whether that’s true or not it was amusing nonetheless lol
I agree but great video nonetheless

For some reason I love these videos even though i live in New York
Why? Does being a resident of New York mean you're naturally averse to liking videos on TH-cam?
@@Darwinion ur joking right
Galaga arrangement music love it

its the blue ones at left top
Pro tip, When an enemy comes on the screen, shoot it
Also, I recommend that you not get hit.
😂
Great video! Very informative with different strategy tips. Could've been a little less ackward but great first video.
Long Time Galaga Player (Well actually started with a similar game on the Turbo Graphx 16)

Never really kept a track of a score because I just played for fun 😅
guy needs a cup holder on the side.
interesting about using 2 player mode i did not realize the counter went higher
It technically doesn't, you just can't see it.
Was completely expecting an explanation of the no shot exploit once he said to play player 2 to allow for scores of more than a million points.
Awesome. Im trying to beat a highscore right now.
Great video man!
what about the double tap shooting?
Galagas are worth more points when they come down with 2 reds with them. How was this not mentioned?
