  • Hey guys welcome back to the channel, on this video I’m setting up our new four season tent as well as trying out using a wood burning stove in the tent for the first time! Over all I’m really please with the quality as well as how smooth everything came together. All the items I order off Amazon can be found here:
    Tent: www.amazon.com...
    Stove: www.amazon.com...
    Let me know what you guys think!

    The plastic cap that you took off the door pole goes back on after you set the pole in the grommet.... It's for keeping the rain from dripping through the grommet hole! 😁👍

    That plastic tip cover for the front door pole is used for rain not entering the tent. It is placed on the pole once you stick it in the tent hole on the outside.

    Need more fire cloth in front of the stove, embers will fall out and burn the floor, a couple feet on the floor in front of the door works well . Learned from experience,.lol.

    My husband is a 68 year old DIY solo elk rifle hunter. I bought this more for me than for him. I wanted a "Home away from home" for him so I could feel better about him off by himself in the mountains for a 14 day hunt. My husband is claustrophobic so the 10x10 wouldn't really work for him if he got rained/snowed in for a day or two. He really likes the tent. Its well built, moisture proof and works great with a word stove. He use to use a 10x10 nylon tent with a Buddy heater with propane, but the condensation inside the tent got everything wet. He say's this tent should last him until he ages out of hunting/camping.

    I have this tent, but in brown. I got it a couple years ago and love it.

    Your first stove burn is supposed to be outside as the paint and shit like metal preservative burns and off gasses.

    Thanks so very much 😊 a 👍 review. I'm looking forward to my hot tent, I did things backward. Purchased everything first now, looking for a hot tent. I do own a very low quality bell tent. I needed to seem Seale it & then waterproofing with a spray substance. It 🌧 48 hrs later, lucky me. Heavy downpour 30 plus minutes, 98% dry not. Bad, for a family who can't afford to spend $1k or more on a full-time working hot tent. Start at the low end & learn as you grow, your knowledge & ⛺️ will grow with you. Mine is 13' b 13' it needs about 25' to set up the guy outs properly. Big tent 130 Sq feet!
    I have joined. Would love to see more!

    How about a link for your heat shield blanket. Thanks

    You need to go ahead and add the extra chimney pipe outside to get the smoke and hot sparks away from your tent. Your stove pipe needs to be at least as high as the top of your tent. Plus, you may want to check to see if your damper is all the way open.

    The taller the stack the better the draw, how tall did you end up going with your pipe? It should be at roof height or taller ideally .... kinda like a house. We heat here in northern MN w just wood and you definitely will have draw issues and poss down draft issues under 6 or sometimes even 8 ft depending

      Yea I stared adding the extra pipe and it helped a lot more!

    You put the stakes where the heavy duty angle irons go. They give you two types of stakes, one of which is MUCH more heavy duty. Use the skinny ones on the tent and the heavier ones on the wind lines. The tent is designed to give with the wind. Trust me.

    If u get good draft on the fire, the stove should be pulling air in and exhausting up the stack I should think.
    You have a shutter valve on the stack, is it fully open?

    I wish you would have shown a close-up staking guy lines, mine are not looped! Did you put that plastic cap back on outside? It's the rain cap!

      @Cropley_Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh yes good thing I kept it then! Some of mine were not looped originally either, I found just use a taut line hitch works really well!

    I wouldn’t be happy with all that smoke , hopefully it is just the burn in ?

    How long does it take to set this tent up and is it a pain to take it down by yourself?

    • @Cropley_Adventure
      @Cropley_Adventure  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I mean extra hands are always helpful but it’s easy enough to do by your self, with putting in the stove takes me about 20 min

      Hardest part is re rolling the circular tent to get back into the bag

    Your damper was closed that’s why it smoked up your tent when you you opened the stove always open the damper before opening your stove door

      The color will fade after a few uses or strong sunlight or heavy weather and not to mention since it's a darker color it will trap more heat trust me get the white Sandstone 1 you will thank yourself in the summer
