Hi! A few things... You can use the extra foil by putting it on a double sided adhesive sheet or using it with Thermoweb toner sheets. i will show in another video! i kept the negative pieces. :) There are 10 sheets in a pack, not 20. Sorry! Also, this has a very light grey print that takes foil well. It works similar to gina's foilmates, which had black printing. i find this foils better, and you don't have black printing showing. :)
I was just going to ask you if you can do a negative foil card video for us, thank you very much, I follow you regularly and love your videos and style ♡
I am super excited for this product as I seriously considered buying a glimmer Christmas and decided that it was too much trouble and too expensive for me as I am primarily a scrapbooker. I am realizing that I can’t do all the things 😝. However, these sheets are a fabulous option and I love that there are sheets with sentiments and very basic designs. Thank you, Jennifer, for the tutorial, Gina K and TermoWeb for the new product. Jeannine
You are so innovative and creative. Watching your videos is such a lesson in trying new things and thinking outside the box. Thanks for all your sharing and everything you do for us.
Jennifer, what beautiful cards! I never thought about using a stencil on top of foiling in that manner, genius! Adding the sentiment really set it off. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful weekend. Lisa
Years ago I did that very mistake, I bought a glimmer foil and used it with my minc machine. It was a fiasco for me but I use it anyway. But it never occurred to me that it could be actually a technic intended to have that result. Jennifer, you open a new world for my with this video, and I thank you for that… This is one of the many reasons why you are the Goddess of Cardmaking!!! ❤
Stunning cards! Just finished watching Gina K release of this product. With your brilliant creative abilities you showed off this new foiling product like no one else can. ❤️🇨🇦
I had to laugh out loud when you assured everyone that it will be okay to cut the stencil. After card making for 20+ years, I tend to do pretty much anything I want to try! Thanks for sharing you talent and beautiful personality with all!
Delighted to see what Gina K has done. I,too, just for a laminator for Christmas. It took a long time to decide which foiling technique I was going to buy but I made my decision and my son bought me a laminator. So glad to see this new polyglaze technique.
How exciting!! I'm so happy for this video because foiling is such an interesting technique, but I didn't want to buy a foiling system. Thank you for teaching us another technique using what we already have!!
Thank you, Jennifer, like usual your ideas are great and cards are beautiful. I wasn't sure on inking over the poly but you showed how easy it is. And how you think out of the box, like with the last card.
I love foiled sentiments especially. I have the Glimmer machine but it’s true it’s finicky. If they come out with lots of sentiments in different fonts I will be hooked!
Well, now I may have to try this method of adding foil to my cards, so likely saving up for the laminator one day! I had decided that the foiling machines and plates weren’t for me, but this might be. I found this video interesting and the cards fantastic with the shiny touches. Thank you, Jennifer! 💌
Hello. Love all your tips. I wish I had a mind like yours! You always get beautiful results!!! I have done upside down cards! One was a sympathy card I had to get out right away. All kinds of dies used & a very intricate card I knew I couldn't do again because it was accidentally, but turned out beautiful. Be kind to one another. Stay safe. Love to all
This will make very elegant birthday cards ~ using your birthday card organization system and should be good for a year! YAY! Thanks so much for your incredible teaching. Thanks too to Gina K and ThermoWeb for a wonderful, affordable alternative to the hefty investment needed for the Glimmer Foil system. 💖
Your cards are so amazing!! Thank you for always giving so many wonderful tips and tricks. Just love everything you do Jennifer. GOD bless you my dear👍❤️
Love the new technique. Thank you for sharing. I am just not ready to make the foil/glimmer investment. I am looking forward to the video on how to use the leftover pieces of foil! Again thank you for your inspiration.
I am very excited to try these and put an order in already! Foiling/heat embossing shine adds so much to a card… and this looks like a lovely way to economically add some! Thanks for such beautiful and varied examples Jennifer, and your clear instructions! Always love release day with Gina K!! 🧑🏼🎨💗
Very cool! I so appreciate your demo videos, it's a great way to explore various techniques and tools. I've been binging on them lately as I'm really interested in foiling but want to make sure that I'm choosing the right solution and don't clutter my limited crafting space with tools that won't be used enough. With all the cricut, glimmer, etc. machines out there it takes quite a research! I gotta say I love the idea of foiling with a machine that is suitable for other purposes as well - being able to send these sheets through a laminator seems like a fantastic solution. I love Gina K's products, I really like her style and the quality is great, too (I'm using her masking sheets all the time).
Good on Gina K for providing kits - such a great way to foil! Crafty Critta in Australia have had foiling sheets for a few years now. Their foils are far superior to deco foils which are very thin. They are also in rolls so there is no waste and there's a wide range of colours. The currency conversion rate is also favourable to those in the rest of the world and well worth the freight costs in value for money.
Lovely cards, great techniques. I actually like the "wrong" foil better, because it's such a unique look. I also really like the color combinations you used, thanks for the video.
Oops... accidentally sent it before I was done. I got a similar result to the"Wrong" type of foil with my Lazer printer and toner and I thought it was so cool.
Would you believe it - I just got a glimmer machine (and a couple of amazing hot foil dies plus a solid plate, of course), and now this! 🙂 Just joking. I'm suffering on a very high level - I feel very lucky to have lots of machinery at my command: my husband's laser printer works quite reliably together with my cheap laminator for anything that doesn't encompass large solid areas, I have a foil quill for my SC4 and I use the "foil to double sided tape" method, too. So here's me really enjoying your new ideas with foiling, thx Jennifer!
Jennifer I loved your cards and that great foiling tip. I also loved the color of your nails. I was hypnotized by your nails. The color is to die for. I hope you use that color in some of your cards. It's so powerful and hypnotic I was glued to your nails. Wow what is that color and who makes it. ha ha ha I can't believe I'm asking this but it's a wow for sure. Great job as usual......pat
Wow.... To your BEAUTIFUL cards Jennifer. And wow, to Gina for these anazing Poly-glazed panels. What a cool product. Thank you so much for demonstration. I am so in love with the multi colored hydrangea blooms, love card❣️ I love the stenciling you did. Fantastic new product from Gina. I would love it, if there is/will be, a good way/product, to use our stamps in our stash, to get great foiling images. Not using embossing powders, but foil instead. I tried sticky embossing powder, but I can't seem to make it work. Do you have any idea how to stamp and then being able to foil the image?
Excellent video, Jennifer. I have had the small Heidi Swapp Minc machine for a while now and recently purchased the Spellbinders Hot Foil Glimmer system. I'm always looking for ways to use these and these new Poly-Glaze sheets are definitely something I'll try. I like that you pointed out that they even work with the "wrong" foil, lol. I've had problems finding a tape that is strong enough to hold my foils, papers, stencils, etc. in place but that doesn't peel off the top layer of the card stock I'm working on when I remove it. I've tried so many and still find that they randomly pull off the top layer of the card. I'm still searching for the perfect tape.
Jennifer, thank you for showing so many ways to use the new foiling sheets. Now I am a little bit disappointed that I didn't order more of the prints of the sheets. I am so anxious to get my new kit.
Love, love these cards! I'm definately going to give this a try. I know your videos are edited to fit a certain time frame. That aside, these cards seemed to come together rather quickly which is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks Jennifer!
What an awesome way to get foil accidents on your card. Then the remainder of the foil sheet, you can put on a piece of paper that has double sided adhesive. You get the opportunity to put glitter or embossing powder on the remaining sticky places on the card panel.
I just want to do a little simple foiling, so now I am soaking up as much info as as can get, lol. My question for you is, wouldn't it a better value to get a regular laminator rather a specialty foiling machine like a Minc? This is just cool regardless! Thank you once again, Jennifer, for your investment of time to sharing all this info with the rest of us!
Interesting variation! I also bought some " foil glue" in a bottle to put on paper, let dry to tacky, press on foil. Was pretty good, but I think putting it through a laminator would be better. The glue was Ailenes.
You can use the extra foil by putting it on a double sided adhesive sheet or using it with Thermoweb toner sheets. i will show in another video! i kept the negative pieces. :)
@jennifermcguireink Are you able to use iCraft Deco Foil as well with the Poly Glaze sheets? Thank you!!! I just got the Fuse Machine, and I’m learning about the Foils.
Love the cards and the idea of stenciling over foil. I was very interested in the Gina K “Filled With Sunshine” stamp set, it’s got such great images, however, I can’t find it anywhere. Was it an incentive set? Is Gina K planning to release it?
Beautiful cards. My favorite was the black the hello. Is the Lovely Notes card kit not available anymore? I tried finding it on her website and it didn’t come up. I would love to have it.
The kit sold out. But each month the items that were in the kit become available once a new kit is available the following up. The components of the kit are on her website now.
Love the ideas as I love the look of foiling but don't want to invest in the machine. Now I will use my laminator. Question though...why not just use black card stock instead of inking the rainbow foiled card with black ink? Wouldn't the result be the same and much easier?
You certainly could do that. I was demonstrating a resist technique which is why I inked it. The one challenge with using it on black to make sure the cardstock is super smooth. That isn't the case for all of them. If it isn't it won't give you a flawless foil.
I have used the “wrong” foil with a laminator once and tossed the result, cause…. It was ruined. Never thought of using it to my advantage 🤷🏽♀️ Only you, jennifer, can turn a wrong into a right like that
Also, this has a very light grey print that takes foil well. It works similar to gina's foilmates, which had black printing. i find this foils better, and you don't have black printing showing. :)
@@jennifermcguireink I use the toner foil packs from Taylored Expressions, and i don't have any issues with black print showing. I've never used Gina's foilmates.
They recommend using their carrier sheet for best results. It keeps things from sliding and from jamming the machine. But you can see that I used parchment paper in my Mind in this video.
Question... for the card with the Hello Sweet Friend sentiment where you ink blended with black ink, was there any particular reason you couldn't have just foiled onto black cardstock to begin with?

I was just going to as about this.
So happy to see an alternative foiling technique that doesn't involve a special machine. Running out of working space in my craft room!!
O wow! Gina K raised the bar on hot foiling.
Jennifer…Your cards are absolutely beautiful.

Beautiful cards and a great technique! QUESTION: Does tape pull up any of the foil?
Not if you use low tack tape
Hi Jennifer, do you have a recommendation on the best method for transferring custom foil designs to a bookcloth cover?
