Press N button twice for N-Custom mode. On the infotainment screen set suspension to Normal, and a softer steering setting. Now you have the perfect setup for the normal road. Maximum attack on everything, but a little softer steering and a more comfortable ride.
I love my Veloster N. There are two N modes, N (red) and custom N (Purple). In the purple N mode, you can mess with the pops and gargles, mess with the diff, soften the steering ratio, and soften the suspension so you don't need to drive around with it super-stiff all the time guys. I daily drive mine and average about 26-30mpg (as long as I don't beat on it). Best hatch on the market in my opinion. Type R was too expensive and in my opinion way over the top, I don't trust VW, and the Ford's were too old for the price points (but that's just me). Lastly, the infotainment system does a lot and has a ton of features, but it isn't overwhelming to use.
I’ve owned a black 2021 Veloster N with DCT for about 2 months. I can consistently get 5.1-5.3s for 0-60. But I still get wheel hop at launch. When I can get the tires to hookup at launch, I can get 4.8s 0-60. This thing has crazy pulling torque once it gets rolling. Hyundai engineering hit one out of the park with the Veloster N.
Performance for the money seems to depend on which county you live in… in Canada, when you compare base 2022 GTI DSG vs Veloster N DSG, the Veloster is about $9-10k more. Also, depending on your age and overall utility is a factor for which model you prefer. If I were in my 20s or early 30s, I think the Veloster N would appeal. At age 52, I find the 2022 GTI more appealing with 4 doors and the ability to be more functional and be sophisticated … or ramp up the rawness when you want it. If you’re comparing the MK7/7.5 Gti to the Veloster N, the N wins…. But the 2022 GTi is absolutely phenomenal… a true drivers car. If you don’t care about hideous looks whatsoever, you should opt for the 2022 WRX. For reference, I have owned 2018 GTi, 2010-2011-2014-2015 WRX models, 2007 BMW335xi, 2005 Legacy GT, 2001 1.8T Jetta, 1996 Dodge Neon, 2 used Toyota Corollas in University days.
Good video. Sport mode is not N mode tho. It's locks in the middle setting of everything you can change in custom mode. So the valve is open but it doesn't pop in sport mode. You need both the valve open and the engine in "sport plus" to get the pops. N mode is everything on "sport plus"
I’m so torn which one id get. Every car I’ve ever owned has been manual and I’m manual through and through, any automatic imo severely takes away a big portion of the driving experience, except when you have a dct that’s as good as this it really is unbelievable I’m leaning more on the side of dct honestly and it pains me to say it but it is just that good
You guys did not mention a lot of the things that make this car great.. "N Custom" you can modify settings ( steering, suspension, rev matching, E-LSD, throttle response ) all of which have 3 settings each. So in N custom you can set engine, rev match, exhaust in sport + which is max settings, then suspension steering in normal or sport settings which makes the ride not so bouncy but with all the performance and pops and bangs from exhaust.
@@CarMates damn, guess the one I bought just doesn’t have them. I have a 2021 veloster N Manuel, and the spots where the buttons would be are empty, werid.
@@roadome625 You can find aftermarket that will work. They tend to be more expensive when all is said and done. The other part of the deal is that you have to put the car into neutral, get out, close the door, then use the remote to shut the car off. This is how the system guarantees it's not in gear. If it's in gear and you hit the remote start, you would risk the car moving and hitting something or someone.
We are down in the Windsor/Chatham area! I (Zac) have an 18’ GTI and the N is definitely a more fun car to drive! But the golf wins in practicality! lol if we had a contest for who could fit the most hockey bags, I’D WIN 😂lmao
@@CarMates beautiful area man especially for open throttle driving testing rides. for sure but for single guy like myself this VN is perfect, don't really mind less hockey bags. cheers!
Thank you so much guys for this review, in a 1 week more im going to receive my 250hp veloster n, in latam doesn't arrive the 275hp, but comes with 353 nm i dont know why but is cool jaja maybe this version has not sunroof hahhaha and i want to do some improves inlet, intake and stage 1 transform my version in 310hp. Have a nice day, sorry for my english i speak spanish 🤯✌
@@CarMates True, but the price difference is slowly getting smaller. (Veloster N's started around 27k and now MSRP around 32k) I'd argue that the Civic Type R will probably be more reliable and hold it's value better than the Veloster N, thus making it an actual better deal in the long run
Thank you for doing the standard. All other videos cover the DCT
i know it's quite randomly asking but does anyone know a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
@Theodore Coen try flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Terry Jefferson yup, I have been using Flixzone for since march myself =)
@Terry Jefferson Yea, been using flixzone for months myself :D

Indeed!
Yea the manual got rated at 5.1 seconds with Car and driver… so that’s paper…. Or best track conditions. Not sure where these guys get their info from
Literally my realistic dream car. Loved the review!
It’s a riot! Highly recommend
I own a 2020 6spd. It really is an amazing car. You will love it!
I own 2022 VN Dct i really loved it
Car and driver tested the dct at 4.8 seconds 0-60
YEESH! Even better! apparently the mk8 golf r is also quicker than what it says on paper!
@@CarMates I'm buying the N DCT next month haha I love this car!
That’s awesome! hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
They also tested the MT at 5.4 seconds 🤷🏽♂️

Hyundai has consistently maintained fantastic steering. From Veloster's to Elantra's and everything in between, their cars drive like they're on rails
I want that color in the states.
the U.S. desperately needs a dark grey, I like black but the thunder grey that is available on the turbos is what I want
It’s so nice in person! Seeing it in videos and photos doesn’t do it justice
As a GTI owner, I'm impressed. As an ex-technician for Kia/Hyundai (pretty much the same), I NEVER want to be associated with them ever again.
You can't just say that and not say why!

Man that color looks awesome, shame we don’t have it here in the US, looks really slick

Great review! Please review Kona N-Line + Kona N in the fall!
P.s. velo N 0-60 = 4.8secs
My best 0-60 was 5.35
The seats are heated? Can you show that or explain where? Didn’t see button?

This car is cool, but it can't dethrone the true hot hatch king - the Civic Type R
