About the Salve amulet - judging by the results I get from DPS calculator, if you have a Slayer helmet and go with melee, it is higher DPS to use a regular melee amulet (e.g., Glory or Fury) with Slayer helm than to use Salve. So I would suggest using Salve only if you don't have access to Slayer helm.
