Hey thanks for the video! I'll be trying to get a pair of these. Are they still working for you? How's the fit and finish after 2 years? Thank you for the video.
I’ve been wearing these for years plus other Kuhl models. The only vents that seem to provide any benefit are the zippered ones on the side. I don’t find much benefit from the mesh ass pockets. Also they’re not as comfortable as the Kontra. Unfortunately the Kontra Air is discontinued, really sucks.
What you call zipper vents are actually pockets. The mesh pockets work very well to release the hot air. The pockets on the butt are the highest opening on the pants. Hot air rises. Those kontra air pants. Can they be considered pants? Yes they are pant shaped but they are so thin. I question Kontra durability. I am always running around carrying things and throwing stuff around. I need a pant that can stand up to alot. There is one time I felt a piece of metal sliding down my thigh. It was heavy. I would of swore my pants got ripped. I looked down and there was a line down my leg but the pants did not rip. There was not a single hole. These pants are durable. One of the places these pants lack is the ability to hold color. We wash our clothes in All free and clear. These pants have lost more color than any of my other clothes. Is it from washing? No because the area under my belt and under the belt loops is really close to the original color. You can see a definitive line were it was covered by my belt. These pants faded from the sun. They are nice pants but the sun sucks the color out of them. At some point I will make a video to show the difference. I appreciate your comment. I hope the Kontra air pants work well for you. Colombia and a couple other companies make a similar pant since those are discontinued. Thank you for commenting. I am glad you enjoyed the video.
@@HillsOnTheRoadOfLife Hot air rises sure but it’s not like those back pockets stay open for venting, I simply don’t find them much use for ventilation. However the zippered vents in the side are effective. You can call them pocket and put stuff in there if you like but their own website refers to them as vents. The Kontra are thin and that’s what made them so comfortable. For me they’re the most comfortable pants I’ve ever owned. I’m not too concerned about durability, when they wore out I’d just buy new ones. Really sucks that I can’t buy them anymore though.
Awesome review!!!

Those pants are so cool. I need to find a pair. I want that shirt too.
I got mine at REI but I bet you can find them on their website and at other outdoors stores also. They are so comfortable. Thank you for commenting.
